"Chasing Rainbows"

Author: madigraye

Main Characters: Luhan, Sehun

Genre: Drama, Romance

Status: Completed

Description of Story:
"I'd been trying to find you all my life, and nothing ever turned up. It was like chasing rainbows."
Even though Luhan is different, Sehun thinks that it’s pretty hard to ignore how he’s still the same.

  Critique:

Story Title: 5/5

I liked the title, it was attention catching and it gives off the feeling of a very heartwarming or heart wrenching story. It is the title of a powerful story.

Graphics: 9/10

The poster was beautiful but after I read the story, the poster didn't remind me of the feelings I felt while reading. Its something small, I know, but the poster is supposed to summarize the story along with its feelings, and I felt nothing while looking at it. It fits perfectly with the style and it was beautiful, but it didn't give me the emotions that I was searching for.

Description and Foreword: 10/10

Teasing, short, nice style. The direct relation between the title and its meaning to the story are mildly revealed (not entirely because I believe that your term is different and deeper than searching for one's other half. I think its about always finding it, no matter the form, the way, the time, or anything else).

Characterization: 10/10

There are clear differences between characters, and these are the hook to your story, I believe -other than your amazing writing style. Luhan is by far the most tasteful character, and I feel bad that there are things left out in the dark, however I understand that they are meant to be because we need to formulate our own connections and feelings with the story. The rest of the boys who were part of Sehun's and Luhan's childhood are pretty nice. I loved the feeling of them growing, of them changing and maintaining some of that essence that made them them. I liked Jongdae's growth, but I loved Tao's and Jongin's. I felt the change in Tao from the bottom of my heart (which made me wonder exactly what made him change his mind about his future), and I loved how Jongin grew, but never enough to leave his animals alone -never enough to chicken out of his true passion.

Then we have the Sehun's co workers: Jungmyeon and Kyungsoo (but I will add Baekhyun to this group as well). Jungmyeon is greatly described as the character that does everything right and is too nice for his own good, he just lets Sehun do whatever he wants (theoretically). Kyungsoo is very interesting as well, because even though he felt annoyed at Sehun, I never felt hatred -I felt a strange affection. Kyungsoo was the softie hiding behind a mask; he was adorable, and I felt that the friendship between Sehun and Kyungsoo was at a strange similar level than the one between Sehun and his childhood friends. Baekhyun was welcomed to the group through Kyungsoo, and he was like a puzzle piece that was meant to be with them. Now, Luhan's Minseok was a little bit more deep. He was Luhan's strange kind of crush that, I think, was only for
