Jongin wasn’t really sure how well he was dealing with this long distance relationship matter. He really missed Chanyeol, some days more than others, and those times, he couldn’t help but think about dropping everything he was doing and just get on a plane and fly out to where his boyfriend was.

But he couldn’t do that. He had his work, and besides, Chanyeol hadn’t been gone that long. Jongin just missed him so much, he wanted to see him, in person. They video-chatted a lot, and even talked on the phone every day, but it wasn’t the same. It was harder.

“Hello?”

He answered his cellphone, which was flashing Chanyeol’s number on the screen.

“Go to the roof!”

With no greetings, there were the first words he heard. Jongin felt a little confused.

“What?”

“Go to you building’s roof! There’s a meteor shower tonight, go see it!”

Chanyeol sounded incredibly excited, and Jongin couldn’t help but go along with it, peeking out though his window first.

“I don’t see anything out of my window, are you sure it’s today?”

Jongin said, getting his coat and getting ready to go out to the roof anyway, just in case.

“Of course you can’t see from the window, you have to be on the roof! It’s supposed to start soon, so go quickly!”

Chanyeol nagged him, but it wasn’t even necessary since he was already out of the apartment and going up.

“Okay, okay, I’m going up!”

The two talked all the time it took for Jongin to reach the roof, Chanyeol explaining to him how he found out the event was today.

When Jongin opened the door to the roof, he was surprised. It wasn’t the boring, dark, and cold roof that he expected. It was filled with candles, and flowers, and a beautiful table was set, with a cart of foods beside it, giving the place an amazing smell that made Jongin feel hungry.

But the most unbelievable thing was that in the middle of all of that stuff, there stood Chanyeol, in all his glory, with a huge smile on his face.

“Hi.”

The man said, his voice still hearable from Jongin’s phone, as both were still holding their cellphones to their ears. But with that clear comparison, Jongin couldn’t lie, he sounded better in person. Definitely.

“I can’t believe this!”

Jongin screamed, putting his phone down and running over to hug his boyfriend.

Chanyeol held him tightly, not allowing them to part, making Jongin have to speak while he was being crushed by those strong arms.

“You’re here! I’m so happy, I missed you so much!”

He tightened his grip, also with no intention of letting go of the embrace.

“Oh, I missed you too!”

Chanyeol answered, and they were quiet for a bit, just holding each other, enjoying the nostalgic feel.

Once they finally parted, Jongin made a fake angry expression, barely able to contain the smile creeping on his face.

“There’s no meteor shower, is there?”

He asked while wittedly squinting, and Chanyeol laughed, answering right away.

“No, I lied. I just wanted to get you up here to surprise you! Like you like it, your surprise?”

At that cue, Jongin moved into Chanyeol’s arms again, hugging him just as tight as before.

“I love it! I’m so happy you’re here, I can barely believe it!”
