Kyungsoo let his body drop to the bed, sighing heavily as he finally relaxed. That had been a weird day. It was his birthday, but it just didn’t feel like it.

He didn’t know why, but even after being congratulated by s, and receiving countless gifts from the fans, the day felt empty. They had a surprise party for him, but that too didn’t fill his void.

He didn’t know how, or even what would make that day feel like a proper birthday. And there, late at night, he had no energy to search. He’d just let the day pass, like any other. ‘Not every birthday is special’, he told himself, not pleased with the realization. It sounded wrong, and he didn’t like it. He wanted to know what was missing.

His phone screen up, and it started to vibrate. Kyungsoo just let it be for the first few rings, as he had no more patience to be congratulated on that weird day. But something compelled him to move, and as soon as he picked up the phone, he was glad he did.

“Hi mom!”

A smile filled his face right away, and just by hearing his mother’s voice, he felt warmth in his heart. That’s what he’d been missing, and now that day was finally a special day.

“Happy birthday, my love!”
