Little Baekhyun approached the group of high school students, passing by completely unnoticed due to his small height. Those were the neighborhood’s teenagers, and they always got together to play card at the same location. Baekhyun’s mother constantly told him to keep away from those guys, and he obeyed her so far, but now she was at work and couldn’t watch him, so it was his chance.

“Can I play with you?”

He asked, his small voice making the older kids look around first, before finally finding, and focusing on him.

“What did you say, kid?”

Kris, the oldest of them asked. He looked a bit confused, and so did the others around the table.

“I want to play. Can I play with you?”

Baekhyun repeated the question, and most of the guys laughed. The little boy didn’t understand why, but he smiled along.

“Where are your parents, kid?”

Kris asked, very well aware of his group’s ‘bad boys’ reputation, and wondering who would let their kid talk to them like that.

“They’re at work. And by baby sitter is really old, so I snuck out while she was sleeping.”

His words made the guys laugh again, and Baekhyun started to feel like they liked him.

“So, can I play?”

He asked for the third time.

“Ah, I don’t know kid…”

Kris started, ready to send Baekhyun packing, but his group suddenly protested, all talking over one another.

“Let him play. Let’s teach him how to play.”

Was the message Kris was able to get out of all the voices, and he smiled, giving in.

“Ok, fine. You can play kid. Go get yourself a chair.”

Baekhyun smiled, jumping on the spot a bit, before running off to get the first chair he found.
