Minseok really hated that part. It wasn’t what he became a doctor for. He spent years studying hard, doing his best, so that he could save people’s lives. He wanted that ever since he was little, he felt he’d be like a Superhero if he became a doctor. A hero who could fight any illness.

But ever since he began working at the hospital, and it had been 6 years already, that image he had created started to break. Doctors weren’t superheroes. They were just people, like everyone else. They messed up, made mistakes. They even gave up at times. And no matter how hard he tried, Minseok couldn’t be the hero he invisioned. He too made mistakes, or slipped up on the time to make decisions.

Being a doctor wasn’t as wonderful and glorified as he expected. Death was all around, and sometimes he couldn’t avoid it. Even if he did his best, people still died. Because that’s how it worked, some people just can’t be saved.

But just because he knew there was no more hope for that patient, didn’t mean it made it easier for him to move on. That was a hard moment, that never got easier, even after 6 years working.
