Baekhyun sighed deeply, stretching as he woke up slowly. He threw his feet off to the ground, pulling his body up to a sitting position.

His alarm had just rang, telling him it was time to get ready for class. He set it early enough so it would give him enough time to get really calmly.

He hadn’t been sleeping well, his friends’ couch was tough and small, and he barely fit properly in it. But he just couldn’t go back to his dorm, so he dealt with it.

It had been over a week since Jongdae was murdered, but he couldn’t forget it. He kept reliving the moment, seeing the body, the blood; he remembered the smell, how sick it made him feel.

He had nightmares, every night. He saw a dark figure coming in; stabbing him just like Jongdae had been stabbed. He was terrified.

The police hadn’t found the killer yet, and that made him even more anxious. He was even considered as a suspect at one point, and the more days passed, the more stretched the police seemed. Like they were losing hope, like it would be impossible to solve the case.

And Baekhyun hated that. He probably wouldn’t be able to sleep properly until the criminal was behind bars.

He kept thinking, what if he had been there? What if instead of Jongdae, that evil person had wanted to kill him?

He hated every single day, every minute. He hated feeling so paranoid, but he couldn’t stop. He couldn’t rest.
