Silence - January 8th
365 Days of EXO Drabbles
A light knock on his open door made Kris slightly sit up on his bed, supporting himself on one of his elbows as he removed his ear buds with his right hand.
“I’m making kimchi pancakes, do you want some?”
Kyungsoo asked, his big doe eyes staring right at him, standing very casually by his door.
“Sure.”
Kris wasn’t really hungry, but he was feeling rather bored. There was no one else on the dorm besides him and Kyungsoo, and the latter wasn’t much of the talkative type. That was probably the first time the younger had talked to him in hours.
“There’s one ready on that plate there, you can start eating if you want.”
Kyungsoo said right when Kris walked in the kitchen, pointing over to the pancake. The older started eating right away, enjoying the free food. He wanted to say something, but he didn’t know what. He didn’t really spend much time with Kyungsoo, he didn’t know what the boy liked or disliked, or what subject would make him talk more.
“It’s delicious.”
He said, and Kyungsoo turned to him to give a quick smile, turning his attention to the pan right after.
“Do you like cooking for other people like this?”
He really wanted to at least carry out one proper conversation that day, something that didn’t end after a couple phrases from each party.
“Hmm, I guess. I like cooking in general.”
Kyungsoo started, plating another pancake, and moving to stand next to Kris, starting to eat as well.
“And since I’m already cooking anyway, it doesn’t hurt to make a bit more food and feed the member.”
The boy continued, and Kris nodded.
“I see…”
And silence fell again. He failed. Kyungsoo never seemed bothered at all by the peace and quiet, but Kris couldn’t help but feel a bit awkward. He wasn’t used to spend time like that, in silence. But there was no use trying to make the younger change.
