Junhoe parked the car in the student parking lot and locked the doors. He checked his hair on the window reflection and clucked his tongue. "Looking good as always." He slung his backpack over his shoulder walked onto the campus, whistling.

Girls blushed and made way for him as he passed by. Junhoe flashed one of his rare smiles at them, leaving them swooning.

Someone bumped shoulders with him. Bobby smiled at him, his eyes disappearing. "You coming after school?"

Junhoe nodded. "Of course I am." Hayoon's going. He smiled, thinking about Hayoon. Every girl on campus was head over heels for Junhoe except the one girl he wanted, Nam Hayoon. They've been friends ever since middle school with the rest of the gang.

Hayoon was slightly a tomboy and was an independent woman. She never showed her weak side, even when she was humiliated in front of the whole school. She just pranked the boys back, earning her the title of the tough girl who shouldn't be messed with.

Bobby clapped him on the shoulder when the bell rang. "Okay, then see you later. Don't be late!" Bobby ran off to his first period.

Junhoe opened the door to the restaurant and was immediately greeted by his group of friends. "Over here!"

Junhoe smiled and walked over. His eyes landed on Hayoon who was sitting in between Hanbin and Donghyuk. He internally scowled at them before sitting next to Yunhyeong. The door opened again and Jinhwan came in. "Alright! Now that everyones here, let's order!"

The bunch ordered fifteen servings and waited for the food to come. "I have to use the restroom." Hayoon got up from her seat and went to the back of the restaurant. Junhoe glanced at his friends before getting up. "Me too."

Junhoe hurriedly made his way to the back but stopped when he saw a group of college guys surrounding Hayoon. They snickered and pushed each other toward her. Junhoe raised his brow at them. One of them touched her . At that, Junhoe's whole body heated up. He was about to go up to teach them a lesson when Hayoon turned around. She had her pokerface on, like always.

Hayoon smirked, "Is that how you pick up girls? How pathetic and immature." She scoffed. "Doing that will only chase girls away, hun. So why don't you just go off with your little friends to the playground. I'm sure you'll fit in with the little kids with that immaturity of yours." She turned back around and boldly walked into the bathroom as another girl came out. The boys were taken aback and stood there with jaws wide open.

Junhoe proudly smirked, That's my girl. He purposely bumped shoulders with the one who touched her and went inside the boys restroom.

"I'm so full!" Chanwoo groaned, "Me too. I think I'm going to barf." Bobby hung his arm around the maknae's shoulder. "Well, we'll be taking off. Gotta get him home before he pukes all over me."

Everyone said their goodbyes and left. Junhoe and Hayoon were the only ones left. He cleared his throat. "I'll drive you home." Hayoon shook her head, "It's okay. I can just take the bus. See you tomorrow, Junhoe."

Junhoe smiled and waved back at her retrieving figure, making sure she made if safely to the bus stop before heading home.

That night, Junhoe decided to go to the convenience store to buy some milk for tomorrow's breakfast. After buying milk, he whistled as he passed by the park but stopped when he heard someone. He quietly walked closer and realized that it was a girl crying on the swings. His jaw dropped when he realized that the girl was Hayoon. The last time he saw her crying was when her mother passed away six years ago. He rushed over and bent down in front of her. Her eyes were red and puffy. How long had she been crying for?

Junhoe sighed, "Hayoon-ah." Hayoon gasped and quickly covered her face. "Go away." Junhoe held her wrists and brought her hands down to her side. She looked pretty even with tears running down her face. "It's okay to cry." Hayoon sniffled and pouted. "Go away. I don't want you seeing me like this."

Junhoe chuckled, "Fine." He stood up and sat down on the swing next to her. "I won't look. Now, do you want to tell me why you're crying?" Hayoon hesitated before wiping her tears away. "I....I didn't get accepted to Yonsei University." She bitterly smirked. "I know it doesn't sound like a big deal but I promised my mom that I'd go there before she..." More tears slipped down her pink cheeks.

Junhoe glanced at her and frowned. "She's still very proud of you." Hayoon sniffled and looked at him. Junhoe faced her, "You grew up to be such a strong, beautiful, and independent woman, Nam Hayoon. You're intelligent and kind-hearted with a great personality. What else could you ask for? Your mom would be very proud of you. I'm sure of it."

Hayoon's eyes watered again. "No one's ever said that about me before." Junhoe meekly smiled and rubbed the back of his neck. He cleared his throat and stood up, not making eye contact with her. "Now that you're feeling better, let's go. I'll walk you home. Your dad must be worried."

Without looking back, Junhoe walked off the playground. Hayoon smiled. I'm so glad I have someone like you, Koo Junhoe. She got up from the swing and ran toward him. "Yah! Wait for me!"
