Naein fixed the collar of her blouse in the mirror. Her phone rang, and she immediately smiled. "Mark!"

He chuckled, "Hey, babe."

"Why'd you call?"

He paused for a second before sounding hesitant, "I don't think I can make it tomorrow. Can we meet on Monday instead?"

Naein's smiled disappeared. "Oh..."

Mark sighed. He disliked hearing her disappointed voice. He hated that he was the cause of it.

"I'm sorry. Something came up with-"

"Your father, I know. It's okay."

"I'm sorry."

Naein plastered a smile on her face for the sake of making it sound like she was okay with it. "It's not something you can control. Go help your father and show him how ready you are to take over his company."

Mark smiled, "Thanks, babe. I love you."

"I love you too."

After kissing her phone, she hung up and sighed.

Let's just focus on today, the big day.

A knock on her door made her turn. Jinyoung grinned at her. "Ready?"

Naein nodded and grabbed her clutch before walking out to his car.

Naein stepped out of the red convertible and straightened her blazer.

"Remember, this is an engagement party for the heiress of Blooming Company. If we make a good impression, we get the partnership."

Naein determinedly nodded. "Trust me."

Jinyoung smirked and looked at the great hall that was awaiting them. "It's showtime."

The siblings walked through the grand double doors and were welcomed by the CEOs of other companies.

"Mr. Park! Welcome!"

Jinyoung politely bowed and shook the men and women's hands while Naein mirrored his actions.

The party was grand. Everyone was wearing brand name clothes, holding champagne glasses, and chatting about the latest political issues. To anyone else, this situation may have been new and uncomfortable.

But not to Naein. She was surprisingly familiar with all the pearls and bowties. Being the vice president of her brother's company meant that she had to attend all the business meetings and ceremonies, like the one she was at now.

Naein politely declined a champagne glass and the waiter walked away. She sighed and looked around. She sure was used to everything, but she had to admit that she was bored most of the time.

I wonder what Mark is doing right now. He's probably playing video games with Jackson at home or walking Coco. I wish I could be with him right now.

Jinyoung tapped her shoulder. "It's time to greet the hosts."

He led her to the back of the room where the main table and banner was.

Congratulations to Mark Tuan and Mina Myoui!

Naein furrowed her brows. Huh, he has the same name as-

She abruptly stopped walking in the middle of the crowd when she saw the main couple smiling and talking to an older man, who was probably another CEO of a grand company.

The groom-to-be had his arm securely wrapped around the bride-to-be's waist as they chatted comfortably as if they've been in that position many times before.

And her heart dropped with her jaw.

Mark...

Mark chuckled as Mina whispered something into his ear. And Naein's blood boiled as she felt tears stinging her eyes at the same time.

She was....mad and...sad? She didn't know what she was feeling at the moment but she knew that she couldn't greet them. Not when the groom-to-be was her freakin' boyfriend.

Jinyoung turned around and tilted his head. "Naein!"

Mark turned his attention toward her. Naein quickly her heel.

Jinyoung was beyond confused. He grabbed her arm and pulled her, "Naein, let's go-"

She jerked away from him and stomped away from the scene as hot tears ran down her face.

Naein was supposed to be professional at these settings. She was the VP of JYP Enterprise, of course she had to be professional! But she couldn't. Not now. Not when her heart was shattered into a million pieces because her boyfriend of two years was cheating on her.

She wanted to go back and throw champagne at his face and slap him, but she also didn't want to make a scene. Especially in front of all the other major companies and partners that were attending the ceremony.

Naein texted Jinyoung that she was sorry and rushed out of the hall.

"Naein, you can't just hide in there forever. Tell me what's wrong. Why did you run out like that?"

Naein sniffled and hugged her knees closer. She had cried the whole Sunday after running out like a coward the day before.

Jinyoung sighed and started picking the lock. "I'm coming in."

He opened the door and dropped the bobby pin when he saw her puffy and red eyes and nose. "What the hell."

He rushed over to her side and held her tight in his arms.

The tears came flowing out again as Jinyoung rocked her in his arms. "Let it all out. You can tell me later."

When Naein finished the story, Jinyoung was already up on his feet with flaming eyes. "That punk-"

He looked around for his car keys so he could go to Mark's house and murder the cheater but Naein stopped him.

"I'm going to end things with him tomorrow."

He gawked at her. "You're letting him go that easily? Without a good punch?"

Naein would've laughed at that but she was in no mood to joke around. She was determined to end things with him no matter what his excuse was.

"Hey, babe." Mark hugged her right when he saw her.

Naein grew stiff under his touch. He didn't recognize her at the engagement party so he still didn't know that she knew. Does he hold her like this? Does he whisper sweet nothings into her ear and run his long fingers down her locks like he does to me?

Naein tried to shake the thoughts away and focus on the Mark that was in front of her right now but she couldn't.

She pulled away without hugging back, leaving Mark dumbfounded.

"What's wrong, babe? Did you fight with Jennie again?"

Naein already felt the tears forming in her eyes and turned away from him when he tried to hold her face. Mark visibly frowned and he became serious.

"Naein-"

"Let's break up."

"...What?"

Naein swallowed the lump in and croaked out, "Let's break up."

"Why are you saying that? Where is this coming from?"

Naein looked at him dead in the eyes. "Where were you on Saturday?"

Mark was taken aback by her sudden change of tone. "Babe, I told you-"

"Don't like to me, Mark. Just answer my question. Where were you on Saturday?"

Mark gulped and held her arms. "I already told you. I was helping my dad-"

"Stop lying!" She jerked away from him and screamed. The workers and customers in the cafe gasped and stared at them in shock.

Naein breathed heavily as tears ran down her face. "Don't lie to me...Stop lying to me, Mark. I know." She looked up into his eyes.

"I know everything. I know that you're not helping your dad at the company. I know that you were at a ceremony last night for your engagement party. I know you're engaged to the heiress of Blooming Company." She let out a breatheless sigh.

"I know everything, Mark."

Mark stood there, dumbfounded and frozen for a good minute. He opened his mouth but no words came out.

Naein bitterly smirked, "Don't try to make an excuse. I...I just want to know why you didn't tell me." Her voice was barely a whisper.

Mark his lips and looked at the ground. He felt pathetic. He felt like he wasn't worthy enough to look at her.

"I wanted to tell you but I-I just couldn't. You looked and sounded so happy when you were with me. You had this spark in your eyes and I didn't want to kill it."

"So you pitied me."

"It's not like that-"

"When did you find out?"

"...Seven months ago."

Naein breathed out as her chest filled with pain and shut her eyes. "Seven months, and you lied to me the whole time."

Mark shook his head, "I never lied. I loved you and I still do."

Naein shook her head as she let her tears hit the floor. "Let's just stop, Mark-"

"I was going to divorce her right after our parents signed the papers. I didn't want to disappoint my dad-"

"Because that's more important than me, I get it."

He had a pained look in his eyes as he reached to grab her hand. "Naein-"

"No, let's stop this," she whispered. "Let's just stop."

"Naein-" Mark grabbed her hand and tried to pull her but a strong hand stopped him.

"Let her go."

Mark's face expression changed to one of shock. "H-Hyung..."

Jinyoung smirked and roughly pulled his arm away from Naein's.

"Hyung? You break my sister's heart and still think that you have the right to call me that? How pathetic."

"Oppa-"

Jinyoung pushed Naein behind him and glared daggers into Mark as he stepped dangerously close. "If I had known you were the bastard who was dating my sister, I would've thrown a punch at the ceremony in front of everyone. I'm sad I missed a great chance."

He shoved Mark, making him stuble backwards. "I don't want or need any of your filthy shares. Don't ever contact Naein or even appear in front of us again."

Jinyoung held Naein's hand and dragged her toward the exit. But Mark wasn't done. He ran after them and grabbed Naein's arm.

Jinyoung turned around with gritted teeth and swung his fist at Mark's jaw. Everything happened so fast that Naein didn't even realize that Mark was on the floor until she looked back as Jinyoung pulled her out of the cafe.

Once they were outside, Jinyoung let go of her and let out a refreshed sigh. "That felt so good! Didn't it?"

His smile faded when he saw Naein's sorrowful expression. He softened and hugged her.

"It's good that you left him. He doesn't deserve such a great girl like you."

Naein finally smiled and looked at him. "I wish I punched him too."

"Right?! You don't know how good it felt- You wanna go back and punch him?"

Naein laughed and shook her head. "No!"

He chuckled and ruffled her hair.

"Thanks for coming, oppa, even though I specifically told you not to."

Jinyoung shrugged and put his arm around her. "Whatever. Everything turned out well in the end, more or less. Let's go get ice cream."

Naein smiled and nodded. Mark used to be a big part of her life, but with a brother like Jinyoung, she had a feeling that it wouldn't take long to forget him.
