Hyunsik sighed and laid back onto his bed with his legs dangling off. He felt like the most horrible brother and person in the world.

He kept on telling himself that it was just a dream, it didn't mean anything. It's just a phase; it's going to pass. He's just lonely, he'll get over it soon.

He kept making excuses for weeks that slowly turned into months, and he felt terrible.

For the past two months, Hyunsik fell in love with Joy, his brother's girlfriend.

Hyunsik groaned and rolled to the side, bumping his ankle on his night stand. He hissed and held it to humb the pain.

The doorbell rang, making his eyes open wide. Who's here? 

He shuffled downstairs and opened the door. "...Joy."

Joy smiled and hugged him. "Long time no see! Is Jaebum here?"

"No, he went to the gym." Hyunsik unconsciously looked down at his body and felt insecure. Maybe he should work out too.

Joy nodded and walked to the living room. "I'll just wait here." She plopped onto the couch and picked up a magazine that was on the table.

Hyunsik stood there for a while, making her set the magazine down. "Do you need something?"

Hyunsik's eyes widened and he shook his head. "N-No. I'll be upstairs if you need anything." He quickly ran up the stairs and shut his bedroom door. 

Usually, he would sit by her side and keep her company but he couldn't anymore with his heart beating so rapidly whenever she was around. And he felt terrible.

"Hyung! We're going to the mall, do you want to come?"

Hyunsik opened the door to see Jaebum and Joy looking up at him. Jaebum's arm was wrapped around her shoulder and his jaw clenched. I wish that was me.

"It's okay. I have a lot of studying to do-"

"Aw, come one oppa. Jaebum told me you haven't gone out since last Monday. I'll help you buy clothes!"

"Yeah, hyung. Come with us."

Hyunsik sighed and nodded. "I'll be down in a minute."

Hyunsik walked behind the couple with his hands in his pockets. Joy noticed and looked back. She grabbed his arm and hooked her arm on his, while her other arm was on Jaebum's. "What do you want to buy, oppa?"

Hyunsik stiffened under her touch and couldn't look at her as he blushed. "A-Anythings fine."

"Mm, then let's go to Pacsun first."

After shopping at Pacsun, they walked toward Abercrombie. Hyunsik noticed a group of guys obnoxiously laughing and walking toward them. 

He pushed Joy protectively behind him as the boys passed by. 

"Thanks, oppa."

Hyunsik just nodded before walking ahead. 

Jaebum put his arm around Joy and walked behind Hyunsik. He narrowed his eyes at him in suspicion. Does he...

"Let's go to Zara after."

Jaebum's thoughts were interrupted. He looked at Joy and smiled. "Okay."

"Do you have a girlfriend?"

Hyunsik choked on his drink. They were sitting at the food court with empty plates and bags full of new clothes. 

"What?"

Joy shrugged, "I was just wondering. I don't think I've ever seen you with a girl."

Jaebum nudged her and smirked, "I haven't either. He's been single his whole life."

Joy gawked at him. "You're already 23, oppa! Should I introduce you to one of my friends? Or I can set you up on a blind date."

Hyunsik shook his head as his ears turned red. "It's fine. I don't want-"

"Or how about the group of girls over there? They're cute."

Jaebum looked over. "Yeah, the one with the red shirt is hot- Ow!" He rubbed his arm where Joy pinched him.

He chuckled and hugged her close. "I'm just kidding. You know you're the only girl I see."

Joy giggled and pecked his cheek. Hyunsik looked away.

He scanned the group of girls. None of them are cute or hot in my eyes, because I like the girl who's in love with my brother.

He felt pathetic. He sighed and finished his smoothie as Joy and Jaebum whispered in each other's ears. 

Joy gasped, "Paige!" 

The boys turned around to see a pretty girl walking their way. 

"Joy! How have you been?"

Joy smiled and hugged her. "Good, you?"

"I've been great. Except I broke up with my boyfriend a couple weeks ago."

Joy frowned, "I'm sorry. Ah! Let me introduce you to my boyfriend, Jaebum, and his brother, Hyunsik."

Hyunsik internally scowled. I'm just her boyfriend's brother, and that's maybe all I'll ever be.

Joy grabbed Hyunsik and pushed him toward her friend. "Hyunsik oppa is single!"

Hyunsik looked at her in shock. Paige smiled and put her hand out. "Nice to meet you."

Hyunsik looked at her hand in disgust and walked away, leaving the other three in an awkward situation.

"Hyung, are you feeling okay? What happened back there?"

Jaebum came in and sat on his bed. Hyunsik kept his eyes on the book he was pretending to read and murmured, "I'm good."

Jaebum sighed and shifted to face him. 

"Hyung....I know this is crazy but."

Hyunsik's grip on the book tightened, making his fingers turn white.

"...Do you like Joy?"

Tension filled the air as they both stayed silent, until Hyunsik put his book down and lightly kicked his younger brother.

"What are you talking about? Me? Like Joy? You're crazy," he acted as he shook his head with a smile.

Jaebum let out a chuckle, relieved. "That's crazy, right? Phew, I guess I was just imagining things, then. Good night, hyung."

"Good night."

Jaebum closed the door behind him and Hyunsik laid there for a couple of seconds before screaming into his pillow as tears watered his eyes. He thrashed around in his bed and kicked his blankets off.
