Partner (Surprise): NCT's Ten

Sebin clutched her textbooks close to her body as she walked toward her locker. She quickly put in the combination and opened it. Her face fell.

A foul smell filled her nose, making her want to puke. Someone had put rotten eggs on her books and poured milk all over her belongings. And she had a feeling she knew exactly who did it. 

"What's that smell?" A familiar voice made chills run down her spine. 

"Take a shower, Sebin! You stink!"

Sebin put her books in her locker and shut it before pushing past NCT who were high-fiving each other. 

During lunch, she hid in the bathroom to avoid getting bullied by the school's bad boys. She didn't understand why they bullied her. She wasn't a nerd, or a geek, or a loser. Okay, maybe she was but that doesn't give them a reason to treat her like this. 

Sebin sighed as she chewed her sandwich. But what can I do? They're stronger than the whole student body together. I can never defeat them. 

She frowned at her sandwich. She didn't have an apetite anymore. She tossed it into the trash bin and walked outside, only to be greeted by Ten's sly smile.

"Hey, Sebin. Finally done with your big business?"

Sebin flushed in embarassment. She tried to walk past him but he blocked her. 

"Nuh uh uh. Where do you think you're going?"

Sebin backed away as he walked forward, cornering her against the wall. He leaned closer, making her look away.

He smirked and opened his mouth to say something but she pushed him with all her strength, making him fall back. 

"Stop bothering me!" Her scream echoed through the empty hall. Ten stared at her with wide eyes. She's crying...

Sebin wiped her tear and stomped away.

The scene from today kept replaying in his mind. This was the first time Ten made someone cry, and he hated to admit it but it stung his heart.

"What should we do tomorrow?" Mark asked, with his hands behind his head. 

Doyoung's face lit up. "Ooh! We can egg her."

Taeyong shook his head, "We already did that before."

"Oh yeah," Doyoung pouted.

Jaehyun leaned forward, "How about we tag her locker?"

"Too weak," Taeil looked at Ten and nudged him. "Got any ideas?"

Ten looked at his friends. "What?"

"Were you not listening? Aye, what are you thinking about?"

Ten gulped and shook his head, "It's nothing."

His friends shrugged and continued coming up with pranks to pull on Sebin when Mark shushed everyone.

"Isn't that Sebin, over there?"

Ten whipped his head to the direction Mark was pointing at. Sebin was walking home alone.

Taeyong snickered, "Hey, why don't we go do something right now?"

"Yeah!-"

"Let's not."

The boys furrowed their eyebrows, "Why not?"

"I'm tired," he lied. "Let's just go home today." Ten hopped off the brick wall and was about to go when he saw a black van heading Sebin's way. He looked back to see men jump out and drag Sebin inside. 

His eyes widened in alarm. "Sebin!" He started to run toward the van but it drove off.

Ten panicked and grabbed his motorcycle. He put his helmet on before chasing after the van. 

"Ten!" The boys looked at each other before hopping onto their motorcycles and following him.

The van stopped in front of an abandoned house. Ten and his friends parked a little behind the van where the men couldn't see them. The men carried Sebin's unconscious body inside and Ten's blood boiled.

"Why are they kidnapping her?" Jaehyun asked. 

Mark shrugged, "I don't know but something bad is going to happen soon."

Ten's eyes hardened. Not on my watch. He took his helmet off and walked inside with the rest of the boys trailing behind him. Ten kicked the door open, to find Sebin on an old bed with the man standing around her. 

One of the men turned around, "What the f-"

Ten punched him and kicked his stomach, and the fight began. 

It was six against six, but the men were way bigger than the boys. It was a good thing they got into many street fights. They knocked the men out easily, leaving them groaning on the floor, some unconcious.

Ten sat on the bed to check if Sebin was hurt. 

She slowly opened her eyes and groaned. "What happened?"

Ten helped her sit up. "You got kidnapped, but don't worry, we-"

Sebin gasped as she fully regained conscious. "Y-You guys...what were you all planning?!" She screamed and backed away so that he back was leaning against the headboard.

Doyoung's jaw dropped. "We weren't planning anything! We saved you from them!" He pointed at the men on the ground. 

Sebin looked at the ground and relaxed, "Oh, then thank you."

The boys huffed and walked out of the house. 

"You don't have to thank us. We don't deserve it after all that we did to you," Ten softly said.

Sebin's eyes widened. Did she hear correctly? Was Ten apologizing for his actions?

"Here." Ten got off the bed and helped her off. She stumbled forward, feeling dizzy, and he caught her.

They stared into each other's eyes for a while. His heart thumped as hers fluttered. 

Ten leaned closer, and she gasped. His lips were centimeters away from hers when-

"Aren't you guys coming out?" 

The two jumped away from each other and looked away, pretending like nothing happened. 

Taeyong blinked at them. "O...kay.... well this is awkward."

Ten coughed and quickly walked out of the room. Sebin did the same.

Taeyong blinked again before running after them. "Wait, were you guys going to kiss?!"

"No!" They simultaneously yelled at him, making him stop and blink at them again.

"Alright, jeez. No need to be so aggressive."
