Mark sat at the front of the class. Being class president of the seniors meant he had many responsibilities.
One of them, unfortunately, was to be single. His position was so busy that the school made that rule.
But Mark Tuan didn't always listen to the rules.
He glanced back to the middle row and smiled when he saw Teresa taking notes as the teacher lectured about history.
Teresa looked up and made eye contact with him. She smiled and nodded her head, telling him to face forward again.
Mark nodded and looked at the teacher.
Throughout the lesson, Mark kept looking back and Teresa's eyes always trailed back to him.
They secretly smiled and giggled at each other before looking away before anyone could notice.
The history teacher left and there was a short break in between as the students waited for their math teacher.
Nayoung nudged Teresa. "Is something going on between you and the class president?" Teresa's eyes widened in panic. "N-No, why?"
Nayoung looked at Mark who quickly looked away from them. "He keeps on looking at you."
Teresa gulped and nervously laughed. "He's probably looking at Jackson sitting behind me."
Nayoung looked at Jackson who was now talking to Mark. "Yeah, you're probably right."
The bell rang for break and the students either stayed in the classroom or went out to talk to their friends.
Mark walked behind the classrooms to the place they always met at. Teresa was already there waiting.
Mark tiptoed his way behind her and hugged her waist. She yelped in surprise and quickly turned around to hit his arm.
"Stop doing that. And we have to stop looking at each other. Nayoung's getting suspicious. We might get caught."
"So what? I'm getting tired of being president anyway."
Teresa opened to scold him but was cut off by Mark's kiss. "Enough about that. How was your day?"
Teresa chuckled and smiled. "Good. What about you, Mr. President?"
Mark hugged her closer and leaned his head on her shoulder. "Tiring. I have to stay behind again after school. I'll make sure to stop by your house before I go home."
Teresa shook her head. "You should just go home and rest." She ran her fingers through his hair.
Mark sighed and closed his eyes. He loved it when she did that.
"Um, what are you two doing?"
They gasped and jumped away from each other. Jinhyeong, the vice president, tilted his head in suspicion.
"Mark was feeling tired and almost collapsed to I was helping him." Teresa quickly made an excuse and turned to Mark. "Don't you have to go to the nurse?"
Mark looked at her in panic and confusion. Teresa jerked her head to the side and whispered, "Go."
Mark realized what she was saying. "Right! I'm so tired and I feel sick. Jinhyeong, take care of the class while I'm gone."
Mark made a kissy face at Teresa and secretly smiled at her before running to the nurse's office.
Teresa packed her bag and walked out of the school.
She turned the corner away from the school when someone suddenly hugged her from behind, making her gasp and turn around.
"Mark? I thought you had to stay behind."
Mark smiled and pecked her forehead. "Thanks to you, I got away from the meeting. Turns out I actually had a fever. They let me go home early today."
Teresa smiled and tiptoed so that their lips were centimeters away from each other.
"Lucky you," she breathed before kissing him full on the lips. "Let's go to my house. I'll make you porridge."
Mark stood up straight, "Yes, ma'am!" Teresa shook her head with a smile.
Mark wrapped his arm around her shoulders and pulled her close before walking home.
