Partner: Seventeen's Mingyu

"Thank you! Thank you!"

Hyunae bowed to the staff as she rushed to the elevators with her coordi following behind her. "Unni! What's the hurry?" Yoora questioned Hyunae as they entered the elevator. Hyunae pressed the button for the fifth floor. "I don't want to be late again." Hyunae made an excuse and glanced at Yoora, making sure she believed her. Yoora nodded, "Oh yeah, manager oppa was so mad last time." Yoora shuddered at the thought. Hyunae inwardly sighed in relief.

She actually just didn't want to run into her ex-boyfriend again. After Hyunae became the MC for Music Bank, she kept on running into Seventeen after the show backstage. The other members still greeted her but the atmosphere became awkward whenever Mingyu and her made eye contact. The elevator doors opened to the fifth floor where the photoshoot was taking place.

The whole place was festive, decorated with red and green balloons, signs, and flowers. "Woah, they were right when they said it was going to be Christmas-y." Yoora squealed at the sight. "I love Christmas!" Hyunae laughed, "Me too." She furrowed her eyebrows when she saw a male wearing a pine green suit near the center of the box where the camera was pointed. Who is that? Yoora clapped her hands. "Oh yeah! Manager oppa said that you're filming with one of the members from a rookie group. What was his name?"

"We'll begin in five!" 

"Five minutes?! Let's go get you changed!" Yoora dragged Hyunae to the dressing room before she could catch a glimpse of who it was.

Hyunae stepped out of the dressing room wearing a red dress that brought the cuteness out of her. "You look so adorable! It fits the concept perfectly, come on." One of the staff members dragged her toward the center where the guy in the green suit was filming his solo shoot.

"Great job, Mingyu! Now just tilt your head a little more and give us that charming smile of yours!" Hyunae furrowed her brows at the name. Mingyu? As in Kim Mingyu from Seventeen? Hyunae peered behind the big camera to see her ex-boyfriend holding white flowers and smiling at the camera. Her jaw dropped as he made eye contact with her. His bright eyes slightly dimmed but he kept the big smile on his face to keep the shoot going.

Hyunae cursed under her breath, "Of course this would happen to me. Out of all the rookie groups out there, I get stuck with him."

"Hyunae-shi! We're ready for you!" Mingyu had stepped out of the camera frame, done with his solo shoot. Hyunae went to the center and sat down on the couch that was placed for her. She sat down and tried her best to smile and pose for the camera, trying her best to avoid Mingyu's stares. Unfortunately, Hyunae looked to the right and made eye contact with him.

They had only broken up a week ago due to their busy schedules and the fear of getting caught. She regretted it right away but knew that it was for their best.

Mingyu kept his eyes on her throughout her whole solo shoot. And Hyunae would be lying if she said her heart didn't flutter every time they made eyes contact.

"Okay, it's time for the couple shoot. Mingyu, grab the flowers again and go next to Hyunae." Mingyu did as he was told and walked up to Hyunae who was still avoiding his eyes. The couple shoot started. Hyunae tried her best to not be awkward but failed. The cameraman lowered the camera with a frown. "Hyunae, try to smile more! It's Christmas time and you're with the one you love!" Hyunae awkwardly laughed. But we're not together anymore. 

The cameraman lowered his camera again. "Hyunae-yah! Get closer to him! It looks like you're trying to run away!" Hyunae sighed and reluctantly stepped closer to him. To her surprise, Mingyu wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close so that their bodies were touching each other's. Hyunae's breath hitched at his sudden action and she could already see the smirk that was threatening to appear on his face. She rolled her eyes. Two can play at this game. 

Hyunae turned and wrapped her arms around his neck while smiling, bringing his face closer to hers. She could feel the heat crawling up Mingyu's face as he glowed red. She smirked, Gotcha. "That's great!" The cameraman was getting shots from all angles as they posed with various objects and sets.

This time, they were placed under a mistletoe. Hyunae's eyes widened when the staff hung a mistletoe right above the two of them. "Come on, there's no Christmas without a mistletoe!" Hyunae groaned. Mingyu stifled his laugh with the back of his hand and cleared his throat before pulling her close next to him. Hyunae slightly frowned at his familiar touch. It feels just like yesterday when we were planning on going ice skating togather on Christmas Eve. 

When she was still stuck in her thoughts, Mingyu swiftly leaned down and kissed her on the cheek, leaving Hyunae shocked and glowing pink. Some of the female staff squealed while the cameraman cheered for him to do it again. Mingyu didn't complain and kissed her cheek again right away. Hyunae felt the butterflies flying back into her stomach. She looked up at Mingyu who was smiling as if he had won the lottery.

After the photoshoot was over, Hyunae changed back into her normal clothes. Yoora kept asking her questions and fangirled about Mingyu and his good looks. "How did you not feel anything when he kissed you?" Hyunae made an excuse that she was tired and walked out. Right when she opened the door, she bumped into a tall figure. "Mingyu-shi!" Yoora gasped.

Mingyu gave her a small smile, "Can I talk to Hyunae for a second?" Yoora nodded quickly before scurrying out of the room. Mingyu closed the door and turned back to Hyunae.

He his lips. "How are you?" Hyunae raised her brow. "Oh I'm fine. But I don't know how I will be after this because you just kissed me in front of fifty people and on camera." She crossed her arms and looked away. Mingyu sighed, "I know, I'm sorry. But people will just think that it was for the photoshoot. And many of my fans already ship us after we appeared on Running Man together." Hyunae thought back to their first meeting and felt the butterflies again.

Mingyu stepped forward and held her hands in his. "Do you remember that day? I was surprised that you were so good at basketball even in the water." Hyunae couldn't help but smile as she turned to look at his eyes. "And I couldn't believe how kind you were to everyone." Mingyu smirked, "Because I'm so good looking?" Hyunae scoffed and hit his chest but smiled.

Mingyu brought her closer with a serious face this time. "Can we go back to that time? I still like you, Ji Hyunae. After we broke up a week ago, you were the only thing on my mind." Hyunae could tell that he was telling the truth when she looked into his dark eyes.

A small smile formed on her face as she secretly cheered that she could tell him the truth too. "You've been on my mind this whole time too." Mingyu's smile widened and his eyes twinkled again. "Then we're together again." Hyunae laughed, "I guess we are."

From behind the door, a person fangirled, "I knew it! Omg!" Hyunae laughed and shook her head as Yoora continued to coo about them. Hyunae tried to walk around him to open the door but he grabbed her arm and put her back in her place. "Don't mind her." Mingyu smirked before leaning in and doing what he's been wanting to do ever since they broke up. Hyunae immediately melted into the kiss, forgetting about Yoora who was still waiting outside.
