Jungkook sighed when he received his report card. The teacher gave him a small smile before passing his table to hand the next report card to the student sitting behind him.

Jungkook ran his fingers through his black hair. His parents were going to kill him for getting second place, again.

Jungkook looked behind him when he heard his homeroom teacher praising the student who always got first place: Kim Seokjin.

The said boy smiled back and thanked his teacher before staring out the window again.

Jungkook didn't get it. Seokjin never studied. He was good looking, rich, and had a spectacular personality, from what he heard through other students and their endless gossips.

Jungkook? Sure, he was rich and was pretty decent looking if he had to say so himself. But he had to work his hardest to get to second place. It was all for his parents. He never wanted to be the smart, rich kid.

He wanted to pursue a singing career, but did his parents ever ask? Of course not. They would never let him ruin their family name like that.

He huffed and left the classroom, banging the sliding wooden door, causing some students to jump at the sudden boom.

Jungkook headed up the stairs to the rooftop, where he always went to relieve his stress. He opened the door and went over the the potted plant at the corner of the building. Moving the leaves away, Jungkook took out his pack of cigarettes.

He opened the pack and frowned, cursing under his breath. He threw the empty pack on the floor and bent down to pick up the other pack he stored in case of emergencies like this but stopped when he heard someone.

Jungkook froze in his place, afraid that he got caught. But after carefully listening, he realized that the voice was coming from the other side of the building. Jungkook quietly walked over and peered from behind the wall that was separating the small garden from the rest of the rooftop.

There was a girl with long, wavy orange hair who was lying on her back, singing. Singing his favorite song. Jungkook couldn't believe his ears. She was amazing. She literally sounded like an angel from heaven.

Jungkook continued to stand in awe, listening to her effortlessly sing Lost Stars.

"Yesterday I saw a lion kiss a deer. Turn the page, maybe we'll find a brand new beginning where we're dancing in our tears. And God," the girl continued to sing.

And Jungkook thought, why not sing along?

"Tell us the reason youth is wasted on the young."

The girl gasped and sat up. She turned around with wide eyes that met Jungkook's calm ones.

"Your voice is beautiful." Jungkook stepped out from behind the wall and carefully made her way toward her, trying his best not to scare her off. She warily looked at him before sitting back down again, leaving a space for him to sit.

"Thanks." She coolly responded, unlike her initial reaction to her hearing him singing along. The ends of Jungkook's lips curved into a crooked smile as he admired her natural beauty. She noticed that he was staring and cleared . "Well, I should go."

She got up to leave but stopped when he called. "No, don't leave." Jungkook walked up to her and stood in front of her. "I really like your voice."

The girl slightly blushed a pink color, leaving Jungkook falling for her more. "Thanks. It was nice singing with you." She took a step to the left and Jungkook took a step to his right, blocking her way.

"It was." He held his hand out, "Why don't we dance as well?" The girl scoffed, "This isn't high school musical." The girl tried to leave but he blocked her again.

"Can I at least get your name?" The girl looked at him, thinking that he was stupid. She pointed at her nametag. "Choi Yuna, dummy."

Jungkook stood there, dumbfounded. Sorry for trying to court you, somehow. 

Yuna walked past him, using this opportunity to finally get away from this strange boy. Once Jungkook snapped out of his state, she was already gone.

He smiled to himself and looked at the view. "She called me a dummy." He smirked, which soon turned into a chuckle, then a laugh. He laughed like a maniac, a fool, alone on the rooftop with the garden.

Jungkook took the new pack of cigarettes and looked at it for a while, before throwing it into the trash bin. He smiled again and headed downstairs, leaving the door unlocked.

Jungkook just knew that he would be going up there more often to relieve his stress. And it had nothing to do with cigarettes anymore.
