Partner: Seventeen's Mingyu

Mingyu shot his mini rifle at the zombie's head and it went down in mere seconds with black blood spurting out of it's head.

Mingyu grimaced at the deteriorating body and dug it's pockets. "A wallet, nice."

He opened it and saw the human's ID. "Wen Junhui. He was a good looking guy."

Mingyu looked at the zombie's face again and cringed, "Not anymore."

He took out the few bucks that were in the wallet and discarded the wallet before walking away.

Mingyu walked back into the cabin where his group was currently staying. "I couldn't find anything at the supermarket. It's empty now, raided."

There was an eerie silence. Mingyu positioned his rifle in front of him and cautiously stepped into the bedroom where S.coups and Vernon were waiting.

"Hyung? Vernon?" He opened the door to an empty room. "Where are they?"

On the floor, he saw S.coups' silver necklace with a blood stain and collapsed onto his knees.

"No...No, it can't be. They're not..." Tears were threatening to fall when he heard a creak outside.

Mingyu quickly recollected himself and pointed his gun at the door only to see a girl with a knife in her hand, looking as frigthened as ever. "H-Hello."

Mingyu lowered his gun, "Hi."

The girl's clothes were worn out and her body was dirty, as if she hadn't washed in days. She was bony and her hair was a mess.

"C-Can I stay here for the night? I don't have anywhere else to go."

Mingyu set a new pair of clothes in front of the bathroom door while she showered.

He lied down on the old couch and took out S.coups' necklace. He rubbed the center and his lips trembled as he felt his eyes getting watery again. 

You guys have to be alive. You guys would never leave me like this. 

The water stopped running and the girl walked out with wet hair.

Mingyu put the necklace back in his pocket and sat up. "I'll use the couch. You can sleep on the bed..."

"Sujin. Yoon Sujin."

Mingyu looked at the extra gun on his table and raised a brow at her, "Sujin, can you shoot a gun?"

Sujin didn't know how she ended up shooting a gun out in the dark where zombies could attack at any moment. 

All she asked for was a place to stay and now she was learning how to use a gun.

"Hold it with two hands. Steady."

Sujin was shaking. It was her first time holding a gun, let alone shooting a gun.

Mingyu sighed and wound his arms around her to hold the gun in place. "Hold it like this and pay close attention to your target."

Sujin tried to pay attention but couldn't because the stranger, handsome stranger, was leaning way too close to her and she could smell his old cologne. And did she mention that he was handsome?

"Alright. I think you got the basics. Let's go to sleep."

"Why are you teaching me?" Mingyu looked back and smirked, "You're part of the team now."

Sujin furrowed her brows when she heard noises outside her room. She opened her eyes and quickly grabbed her knife out of habit.

She saw the gun next to her and debated whether to use it or not.

While she was stuck in her thoughts, the door burst open and a zombie jumped onto the bed.

Sujin screamed and grabbed the knife. Before she could slice it's head, a gunshot rang through the room and the zombie lay dead on the bed sheets.

Sujin gasped in air and stared at Mingyu who was holding his rifle in his hand. "I could've handled it." 

"That was way too close. You have to learn how to properly use a gun. I'll teach you again tomorrow."

With that, Mingyu shut the door and left Sujin with the dead zombie.

"Now, shoot." Sujin pulled the trigger and hit bullseye.

Mingyu smirked and clapped, "You're finally getting the hang of it."

Sujin smiled and walked back into the cabin with Mingyu. "Where's your team?"

"What team?" Sujin shrugged, "You said I was part of the team now. Is the team just you and I?"

Mingyu set his rifle on the table and touched the necklace around his neck. "There were more, but they're part of the zombies now."

Sujin softened and sat down next to him. She rubbed his shoulder, trying to comfort him.

"I lost some of my closest friends to the zombies too. But at least we have each other now."

Mingyu looked at her and a small smile bloomed on his face.

A banging on the door ruined the moment.

They both grabbed their guns and pointed it at the door, ready to shoot at whatever was outside.

The door finally opened, revealing three guys with dirt on their faces and clothes.

Mingyu almost broke down into sobs when he saw his old team.

S.coups and Vernon dusted their clothes off while the other boy fixed his long hair. Who was he?

"Oppa!" Sujin ran up to the boy with long hair and hugged him. "You're alive!"

The boy laughed and hugged her back. "And I see you found a place to stay. I promised you I would never leave you here alone."

Sujin cried onto his shoulder.

"We found him while we went to the woods to hunt game. Sorry we came so late. Zombies got in the way."

Mingyu didn't complain and hugged both of them, squeezing tight and earning whines from the younger.

"I thought you guys were dead!"

Vernon wriggled out of his embrace and fixed his shirt.

"You dropped your necklace, hyung!"

S.coups looked at his chest and chuckled, "I guess I did. Thanks for keeping it, Mingyu."

The five of them sat around the wooden dining table.

"So, are we all a team now?" Vernon looked at S.coups who looked at the Yoon siblings. "Are you guys alone?"

Jeonghan nodded. S.coups clapped his hands together. "Alright then! Welcome to the team."

Just when things seemed fine, the five of them perked up when they heard rustling outside.

Sujin grabbed her gun and Mingyu grabbed his rifle.

Sujin gulped in fear but Mingyu gently squeezed her arm. "We've got each other's backs."

Sujin determinedly nodded and faced forward as the zombies came stumbling in.
