"I had a weird dream yesterday."

Jae sipped her smoothie and raised a brow at Aerin. "What was it about?"

"Someone kissed me."

Jae spat her drink out, getting it all over Min, who was sitting across from her.

"Hey!" Min glared at her in disgust and wiped her face.

Jae slammed her smoothie on the table. "You never even kissed anyone before."

"I know! But it felt so...real."

Min made a face, "ert." Aerin frowned and hit her arm.

Jae's eyes widened. "You know what I heard? If someone kisses you in your dream, you actually got kissed in real life! While you were sleeping!"

"But I was in the library. No one was the-"

The girls jumped and turned around when plastic cups and utensils clattered on the cafe floor.

Vernon quickly looked away and scurried to pick everything up with a tint of red on his cheeks.

"What's up with him," Jae sipped her drink again while Min shrugged.

Aerin watched him a little longer until he disappeared into the kitchen, barely making it without bumping into leaving customers. She giggled at his clumsiness.

Aerin and her friends started coming to Cafe Chuck a couple months ago and Vernon caught her attention when he accidentally spilled ice coffee on her. Aerin remembered how cute he was, nervously apologizing and frantically trying to dab the coffe from her shirt.

She made an excuse, saying that she loved the strawberry scones they selled at the cafe, to continue coming but she only came to see him, the shy waiter at the cafe right outside her university.

"Someone kissed you?" Min asked, grabbing her attention.

"What? No! Of course not. I don't know where you heard that, Jae, but it's not true."

Jae eyed her, "Are you sure no one was there?"

"Positive." Aerin confidently said but started to doubt herself.

These past few days, she felt like someone was following her whenever she walked to her apartment near her university. 

Is someone stalking me? Did that stalker...? 

Aerin shuddered as a chill ran down her spine. No, Jae's wrong. No one kissed me. 

Aerin bit her lip. Right? 

After her evening class, Aerin waved goodbye to her friends and walked to her dorm.

She passed by Cafe Chuck and peered inside. "He's not here."

Aerin slightly pouted and continued to walk on the sidewalk. Suddenly, the hairs on the back of her neck stood up as an eerie feeling blanketed the atmosphere. Aerin clutched her bag and walked while glancing side to side. Her eyes grew wide when she heard footsteps behind her. 

It's the stalker! What if he does more than kiss me this time? 

Aerin's heart beat raced and her footsteps quickened. The footsteps behind her quickened also. 

Aerin held her breath. Should I run? Should I fight back? I'm a black belt. I could totally take him down! 

Aerin determinedly huffed and abruptly halted in her tracks. She spun around, "Sto- Ah!"

The person behind her accidentally ran into her, making her fall back. Aerin felt a soft sensation on her lips and blinked her eyes open. Vernon?! 

Vernon opened his hazel brown eyes and gasped.

Aerin realized that they were kissing and blushed. Wait, these lips...feel familiar. 

Vernon quickly scrambled off of her and stood up. "S-Sorry. I didn't think you'd stop so suddenly..."

Aerin stood up and brushed her bottom. "Why were you following me?"

Vernon avoided her eyes. "I-I was walking home one night and saw a man trailing behind you so I followed to make sure nothing happened to you." His voice softened at the end.

Aerin softened and smiled. "Thanks."

"No problem," he muttered.

"Then do you know if anyone was at the library yesterday? You probably followed me there too, right?"

Vernon's head shot up and his eyes were big and round in shock. "No!" Aerin blinked at his outburst.

"No one was there! I-I didn't see anyone."

Aerin carefully examined his nervous features and asked, "Then were you the one that kisse-"

"I don't know anything!" Vernon shouted and ran away before she could question him further.

Aerin finished her evening class and walked to the library. If it wasn't him yesterday, who could it be? 

Aerin studied until drowsiness started to take over her mind and body. She shook her head and blinked to wake up but her eyes gave up on her and her head fell onto her textbook.

Before her head could hit it, a hand came from behind, holding her head in place.

Vernon slowly sat down next to her and carefully laid her head down so she wouldn't wake up.

He ended up lying his head on the table. He stared at her as she calmy breathed through . Not creepy at all.

Vernon moved her hair back to get a better look at her face. A small smile grew on his lips when she muttered something about food. 

I wish I didn't have to do this secretly like this. But I'm too much of a coward to confess to you. 

Vernon sighed and sat up. He looked at her peaceful face again. Her lips caught his attention once again and he his own. 

Doing it again won't hurt right? Just as long as she doesn't find out. 

Vernon lowered his face until his was right in front of hers.

Just then, Aerin's eyes fluttered open. Vernon's eyes widened and he stayed there, frozen.

Aerin smiled, making her eyes turn into cresents, "So it was you. My first kiss."

Vernon gulped as his mouth went dry.

"You can be my second too." Aerin leaned in and planted a sweet kiss on his lips, making butterflies fly around in his stomach. "I like you too, Vernon."

Vernon's lips formed into a lop-sided smile. "Third." He cupped her chin and brought her closer to give her a real kiss.
