Partner: Exo's Sehun

"Come in!" The front door opened and music flowed out from the big house.

Baekhyun smiled and opened his arms for a hug. "You came!"

Yoomi laughed and hugged him back. "I hope I'm not late."

Baekhyun shook his head. "What do you mean? It just started! Come on."

Baekhyun dragged her inside and shut the door behind them. "The drinks are over there and the food is going to arrive soon. And remember, if you get too tired, you can always go to my room and take a nap." Baekhyun winked and walked away.

Yoomi ended up on the couch while everyone else was up and partying. She wasn't really the partying type.

Someone suddenly plopped down beside her with a plate of food.

"Hey, babe."

Yoomi rolled her eyes. "Jongin, I told you to stop calling me that."

"Who's Jongin?"

Yoomi sighed and muttered, "Not again."

Jongin took a bite of his salad. "I'm not going to stop calling you babe until you start calling me Kai."

Yoomi chuckled, "You know I don't like nicknames."

Jongin stuck his tongue out, "Well boo hoo for you." They laughed.

"Why aren't you eating?"

"Not hungry."

"You know Sehun's here?"

Yoomi's eyes widened. "What? Why is he here? He's not even a part of our group."

Jongin shrugged. "You know him. He loves parties."

He leaned closer. "Or maybe he just wanted to see you." Jongin wiggled his eyebrows.

Yoomi scoffed and pushed him away. "Stop talking nonsense. He probably just came to have a good time."

Jongin gave her a look, "With you."

Yoomi pushed him off the couch, laughing. "Jongin!" He laughed and walked away, leaving her alone again.

Yoomi sighed. Sehun's here? She unconsciously looked around the big living room.

She saw Sehun leaning on the wall talking to Chanyeol while holding a drink in his hand. He looked as handsome as ever. Or even more handsome, if that was possible. She didn't realize she was staring until he turned her way. Yoomi expected him to look away but he just kept his eyes on her.

She gasped and turned around first. Damn it, now he'll think I was looking at him this whole time. 

Yoomi frowned. I was. 

Yoomi got up from the couch and walked to the backyard to get some fresh air.

Yoomi still liked Sehun, and she knew that. But she couldn't bring herself to go back to him.

Last summer break, five months ago, Sehun confessed to her and she accepted his confession. Yoomi gave their relationship a try but realized that she only liked him as a friend after a couple of dates.

Their relationship was over in two weeks.

But after she let him go, and after hearing Jongin's advice, Yoomi realized that she actually did have feelings for Sehun. But would he accept her now? After she played with his heart like that?

Yoomi frustratedly sighed. "You're so stupid, Park Yoomi. You should've caught him when you had the chance. Now he's gone."

Yoomi looked up at the sky. "Why are you doing this to me, Oh Sehun?"

"Sorry."

"Wha-" Yoomi gasped when she saw Sehun standing behind her. "How much did you hear?"

Sehun ignored her question and walked up to her. "I'm sorry for not doing anything. I should have chased after you. I regretted it so much when I saw you laughing and talking with the guys. I knew that I should've made it work somehow but I was a coward."

Yoomi shook her head, "No, Sehun. I'm the coward. I'm sorry."

Sehun looked down and searched her brown eyes. "We can start over. Let's just forget about what happened in the summer and start over. Park Yoomi, will yo-"

"It's almost midnight!" The back door burst open and all of their friends started to run out for the countdown.

Baekhyun turned Yoomi around with a big smile on his face. "It's almost 2016!" Yoomi laughed. She glanced back to Sehun who was now talking to Chanyeol. 

Dang it. Why did they have to ruin the moment? 

"Ooh! Ooh! There's only a minute left!"

People around them started to count down.

"30! 29!"

Yoomi looked up at the sky while the rest of them counted. She glanced at Sehun. He wasn't counting either.

"15! 14!"

Yoomi's heart raced when Sehun turned around. They made eye contact and he didn't look away again. This time, Yoomi kept her gaze on him too.

"5! 4!"

Sehun took a step closer each count and Yoomi's heart raced faster each second.

"3! 2!"

Sehun was right in front of her now.

"1!"

Sehun cupped her face and leaned down to kiss her. Everyone cheered as fireworks burst in the sky. Yoomi leaned in to the kiss and smiled. 2016 was going to be a good year.
