"Go to the Namsan Tower, check." JR crossed out number five on the list.

"Five more to go." He closed the journal as he walked out of the hospital.

Rian only had one month left and JR vowed to do everything on her bucketlist before her time is over. He was going to make sure every single day was perfect and full of happiness.

The next day, JR woke up and got ready to go to the hospital. It was his daily routine now, to go see Rian and stay with her until visiting hours were over.

JR looked at the next thing on the list and smiled, "Go to a concert." He looked at the two concert tickets in his hand and opened the door to her ward.

Rian was already dressed and had her bag on her shoulder. "Ready?" She spun around and beamed at him. "Yup!"

"Um, excuse me? Dr. Lee would like to speak to you." The nurse brought JR to the doctor's office.

"Please sit, Mr. Kim." "What is it, doctor? Is something wrong?"

The doctor pursed his lips and clasped his hands together in front of him. "We've been doing the daily checkups on Rian and we...found something new yesterday."

JR's brows furrowed. "What do you mean?"

The doctor heaily sighed. "The cancer cells are spreading faster than we imagined it to. Rian may only have a week left."

JR trudged out of the doctor's office with a blank expression on his face. 

"It spread from her stomach to her legs and upward toward her heart. She's going to lose feeling of her legs soon, so be careful when you take her out. I will still allow you to bring her out but it may be better to just stay inside until her time is over." 

JR clenched the tickets in his hands as tears welled in his eyes. He watched through the window of the door as Rian looked out the hospital window with a bright smile on her face.

He sniffled and wiped his eyes and opened the door with a big smile plastered on his face.

Rian turned around when she heard the door close. "What did he say? Is something wrong with me?"

JR wanted to nod and tell her the truth but he didn't want to hurt her even more. "Nope. Let's go before we're late." He held his hand out and she gladly took it and skipped out of the hospital.

"They were so good! I can't believe they're not popular." The sun was gone and the night was blanketed with stars and a bright moon. Rian had her arms wrapped around his as they walked back to the hospital.

"I wish everyday were like this. Just you and me together, going on a date like this." She leaned on his arm.

JR smiled down at her. "That's what we've been doing for the past month. Your wish is granted."

Rian frowned, "But I have to go back to the hospital everyday. I don't want to say goodbye to you."

"Then how about I stay with you tonight?" Rian's eyes lit up. "Really? You're not kidding, right?" JR shook his head, "Nope. I'll stay."

Rian did a little dance as she cheered. Her knees suddenly gave up on her and she fell to the floor. JR's eyes widened. "Are you okay?"

"Y-Yeah. But I can't feel my legs." JR gulped and blinked away the tears threatening to show. "I'll massage them for you when we get back." He kneeled down, "Get on." JR piggy-backed Rian all the way to the hospital ward and massaged her legs through the night.

Rian sighed and smiled with her eyes closed as she snuggled closer to him. "I wish you were here every night."

JR played with her hair as she drifted to sleep. I will be. Whether it's for one week or one century. I'll always be here. 

The next morning, JR woke up to see Rian staring out the window with a blank expression. She watched the children play on the playground outside and kept her eyes on them.

"I overheard the nurses talking this morning. They say I can't walk anymore."

JR's heart sunk. He hugged her from behind and nestled his chin on her shoulder as she tried to hold back her tears.

"They say I only have a week to live," she whimpered. JR tightened his hold on her and squeezed her fragile body.

"Is that why I couldn't walk yesterday? Is that why you suggested that we do everything this week?" Rian started to cry.

JR softly shushed her and held her until her tears ran dry.

They lied on the bed together in each other's arms as the day went by.

"I don't care if I can't do everything on the list. I'm just glad I got to do them with you." Rian's eyes started to glisten as she sniffled.

"Out of all the things on the list, I'm glad I got to do the last one." JR softened. 

Rian sadly smiled and looked into his eyes. "I love you, Jonghyun."

JR held his gaze on her and cherished this moment. "I love you too." He kissed her temple and placed her head under his chin.

Rian leaned onto his chest and smiled as a tear ran down her cheek.

JR walked into the hospital five days later with a heavy heart.

It was a miracle that Rian was still breathing for the past couple of days, and he prayed today would be a miracle too.

JR opened the door and froze when he saw the bed empty as a nurse folded the blanket. She looked at him with sad eyes and handed him her journal he left last night.

JR opened it to the list and broke down into sobs. The last one on the list was crossed out. Fall in love. 

Underneath the list, Rian added another thing that she crossed out. 

Live everyday happily with no regrets. I love you, Kim Jonghyun. But don't hold onto me and move on. Set me free. 

JR collapsed onto the ground and hugged the journal to his chest as he cried for Rian.
