Sora took her sunglasses off and gawked at the line that ended at the end of the building. "Is this real?" She peeked over the tens of people waiting and frowned when she saw the beginning of the line at the entrance of the restaurant.

"Well, it's not like I have anywhere to be. Happy birthday to myself, indeed."

Sora crouched down and played games on her phone as she waited for over an hour in the long line. Her friends, aka the one and only best friend since elementary school, was on vacation with her parents.

She only had a father who was too busy with work to pay attention to "little things" like her birthday.

Sora fixed her sunglasses as she fanned herself.

"How many?"

Sora quickly stood up and, embarrassed, whispered, "One." 

The server nodded and walked past her to ask everyone else. Sora's eyes lit up when she saw the door five feet away from her. Yes! Only twenty more minu-

"Excuse me, miss." It was the server from a minute ago. "Do you mind if another person joins you?"

"No! Not at all!" If there was one good thing she got from her heartless, money-greedy father, it was the fact that she was friendly to all.

"Perfect!" The server waved over someone from a few feet back.

Sora gasped when a tall, handsome young man approached her with a dashing smile on his face.

"You two can actually come in right now."

Sora and the handsome stranger walked inside the five-star restaurant and were seated right across each other at a two-seater table next to the window that showed the brightly lit city of Seoul.

"Your waiter will be here soon." The server left, and it grew silent, except for the laughter and chatter around them.

"Sorry, I didn't even get your name." The handsome stranger broke the silence first while putting his hand out.

"My name is Kai."

"Sora," she gave him a small smile and shook his hand. His hands are so soft! If this is a present from the heavens for pitying me, thank the Lord.

Sora melted when he smiled back and wondered if she could make it out of this dinner alive.

The main course was set out in front of them. She ordered the steak while he ordered the calamari pasta.

Sora picked up her fork and reached for the knife but Kai grabbed it instead. "Let me." Kai took her plate and leaned over to cut the meat for her. He put the plate back and put the napkin on his lap before eating his pasta.

Is he an angel or what? The heavens really must have sent him.

Sora beamed and started to eat.

"So what are you majoring in?"

"Business."

Sora internally rolled her eyes. My father would love that.

"But I'm thinking of switching to filmmaking." 

Sora's ears perked up at that. "Filmmaking?"

Kai nodded. "It's just that my parents won't be too happy about it. They're always nagging, saying that I should follow my father's footsteps."

"Tell me about it," Sora chuckled as she ate her steak.

"Ah, a fellow rich kid," he smirked. "Say, I was wondering ever since I saw you, why are you here alone?"

"Oh, uh." Sora slowly chewed on her steak. "It's my birthday today."

Kai immediately smiled. "Happy birthday!"

"Thanks. You're the first person to say that to me today."

Kai's smile turned into an expression of concern as he furrowed his brows. "Oh, I'm sorry."

"It's okay. Hey, you don't have to give me that look. I'm not some damsel in distress. At least I don't want to be," she muttered the last part.

Kai put his fork down. "Hey, you know what, I know this great place to replace those negative feelings with positive vibes. Come on." He stood up and grabbed her hand.

"Wait, what about the bill-"

"Already covered," he winked at her before leading her to his car.

"The arcade?!"

Sora gawked at him as Kai grinned like a little kid. "Yeah, this place is awesome!"

"I haven't been here since elementary school!"

Kai gave her a playful frown. "Man, your life must have been terrible. Come on," he dragged her to the first game near the entrance with a smirk on his face.

Sora screamed and yelled as she aimed at the zombies that were "attacking" her and Kai. Kai glanced at her and his heart warmed, seeing her having fun.

"I'm so tired," Sora huffed and sat down on the machine after their third DDR battle.

"Aw, come on. One more round."

"So that you can beat me again? No thanks."

"I'll let you win this time," he coaxed, receiving a glare from her. He chuckled and sat down next to her. "How are you feeling?"

"Tired!"

"But happy, right?"

Sora softened and smiled, "Yeah."

"Then my job here is done." He stood up and grabbed his jacket that was hanging on the rail behind them.

"What? You're leaving?"

"Well, it's already past midnight and I'm sure you have a curfew too, rich kid."

Sora shot up and dragged him out of the arcade as she yelled how her father was going to kill her.

Kai parked in front of her mansion. 

"I don't want to go in. I'm going to die."

Kai chuckled and reached for something in the back seat. "Well now you have this little guy to guard you."

Sora gasped as he put a white teddy bear on her lap. "How did you get this?"

"Did you think I wasted all those tickets after how hard I tried?"

"This is adorable."

"Happy birthday. Well, belated now."

Sora laughed and hugged it against her chest. "Thanks for today, Kai." She got out of the car and closed it.

Kai rolled down the window. "Sora! If you live after tonight, meet me at the Coex Aquarium next Wednesday."

"Why?"

"To celebrate my birthday. I need my fellow rich buddy to accompany me. I never said I'd do this all for free." Kai winked before rolling up his window and driving off.
