B.I. knew it was wrong.

He knew it was wrong to like Hyeji but he couldn't help but fall for her kind heart and warm personality.

No wonder she was the most popular girl in school.

B.I. couldn't say that they were friends. They were more like aquaintances. Until they became seniors and ended up in the same homeroom.

The teacher had them sit next to each other the whole year. Hyeji was the first one to start the conversation everyday and B.I. unwillingly fell for her more and more everyday. 

And as they got closer, he found out that she had a boyfriend: Song Mino, the star soccer player.

"You're in love with her."

B.I.'s eyes widened at his friend's words. "You're crazy."

Jiwon shrugged, "You're the one who asked for advice."

"Yeah. I asked for advice. Not a statement."

Jiwon's words crossed his mind again. B.I. obnoxiously scoffed and rolled his eyes. "I am not in love with her."

Jiwon leaned forward on the couch with his elbows propped on his knees and narrowed his eyes at B.I. "So, who's this girl you're talking about?"

B.I. went into alert mode. "No one! You don't know her," he raised his voice.

Jiwon leaned back and scrunched his face at his sudden outburst. "Alright, jeez. I won't ask anymore."

Jiwon picked up the game controller and pressed play to continue the paused game.

B.I. blankly looked at the tv screen in thought. I'm in love with her? Is that what I've been feeling this whole time? 

B.I. leaned his head back on the couch and closed his eyes. You're screwed. 

"Hanbin!" B.I. turned around and automatically smiled.

She was the only one who called him his real name. Maybe that's why he fell for her. He didn't know.

Hyeji ran up to him and caught her breath. "Are you going to eat lunch?"

B.I. nodded and looked behind her. Hyeji quickly looked back and furrowed her brows. "Who are you looking for?"

Hyeji turned around. "Oh, Mino? He's at soccer practice. Let's go get lunch." Hyeji linked arms with him and pulled him to the cafeteria.

Hanbin poked his food. He didn't have an apetite when his mind was focused on what Jiwon told him yesterday. 

This is wrong. I can't like Hyeji. She has a boyfriend. She's the most popular girl in school. She's way out of your league. She has a boyfriend. . 

"Hanbin?" Hyeji waved her hand in front of his dazed face. She reached over and flicked his forehead.

B.I. yelped in pain and frowned. "That's what you get for zoning out while I was talking to you." Hyeji smiled, showing her white teeth and cute dimples.

"Don't smile like that."

Hyeji tilted her head to the side. "Why?" 

Because it makes my heart stop. "You look ugly." He said with a straight face before getting up and throwing his tray away.

B.I. looked at the letter and plane ticket in his hand he received in the mail last week that was on his nightstand.

His father wanted him back in America to finish his studies. He picked it up and sat down on his bed with a heavy sigh.

"I guess I'm going. I don't have a reason to stay anymore anyway." He tossed the ticket and letter onto his desk and lied down with his arm over his eyes.

Or I have a reason to leave. 

"Hanbin!"

B.I. ignored her calling and walked out of the school. 

"Yah!" She knocked his head with her notebook and bumped his shoulder.

B.I. glared at her but she just smiled back. "Let's go get waffles today. Mino said he's buying."

"I'll pass-" "Come on! It's free food from Mino. The guy who cherishes his money like it's his children."

Hyeji grabbed his arm and tried to tug him forward. He harshly jerked away from her grasp and said in a cold tone, "Don't touch me."

It makes me want to hold you. 

Hyeji loosened her grasp and stepped back, appalled by his sudden change of attitude.

B.I. could see confusion mixed with slight fear in her eyes.

"Why are you like this, Hanbin? You've been acting cold toward me the whole week. Did I do something wrong? Just tell me and I'll change-"

"This is exactly your problem!" B.I. raised his voice, causing Hyeji to flinch back with wide eyes.

"You're too nice! You're too friendly. I don't want to be your friend anymore, Song Hyeji. But you're too dumb to understand that."

He towered over her. "Don't touch me, don't call me, just don't talk to me anymore." His breathing was heavy as he glared down at her.

Hyeji's eyes watered and he could tell that she was trying to hold it in. "O-Oh."

She looked at the ground. "Thanks for telling me. I'll try to change that."

He saw a drop of tear fall to the ground and he felt his heart drop with it.

She wiped her eyes and smiled one last time at him before walking away.

B.I. stepped forward to catch her but stopped with his hand in the air. His eyes watered as she disappeared down the hall.

"Damn it!" B.I. kicked the lockers, making the loud sound echo through the empty halls, as tears ran down his face.
