Taeyong stood outside the hospital. He took a step forward to enter but immediately backed away, again. He had been standing in the same spot for the last twenty minutes, debating whether or not he should go in to see her.
Lee Saeyoung. The new girl NCT bullied everyday.
Taeyong sighed. He hated that title he gave her when she first stepped onto the school campus. Everyone now knew her as the outcast that Taeyong hated. But it was the opposite.
He was actually in love with her. Bullying her everyday became a sort of routine for him and NCT and he didn't know where to stop.
So Taeyong didn't stop until it went too far. He still remembered the look of fear on her face as she ran away from them. As he chased her, he thought Why am I even doing this?
Taeyong wanted to stop everything but didn't want to look weird in front of his friends. He was scared that he would become an outcast if he went against the kingkas of the school. But now that he thought about it, he wouldn't mind being an outcast if he could have Saeyoung by his side.
Taeyong took a deep breath and finally mustered up the courage to walk inside.
He stood outside Saeyoung's room and sighed. He was doing the same thing again. Should I go in? What if she yells and tells me to go away?
Taeyong took one step forward again. He was about to step back when a little kid ran behind him, pushing him toward the door. At the same time, the door opened.
Taeyong's eyes widened when he crashed into Saeyoung.
"I'm so sorry," Taeyong helped her up. He saw her broken arm and bruised face and winced.
It's all my fault. If we weren't chasing her, she wouldn't have ran out into the street and get hit by a car.
Saeyoung immediately jerked her good arm away from him. "T-Thanks." She cowered away and tried to walk past him.
"Wait."
Saeyoung's breath hitched.
"I...Can we talk?"
They awkwardly sat at the garden outside of the hospital. Taeyong kept opening his mouth to apologize buy couldn't bring himself to say anything. What was he supposed to say?
I'm sorry for making you get hit by a car. And oh yeah, I like you. That doesn't make any sense!
"If you're here to make fun of me, go ahead."
Taeyong's eyes widened. He looked at her with his mouth hanging open. "Huh?"
Saeyoung kept her eyes forward. "While I was in the hospital, I kept wondering why you bullied me."
Taeyong lowered his eyes in shame.
"Then I figured, why think about it? Even if I figure it out, I can't stop you guys from bullying me." She bitterly smirked, breaking Taeyong's heart.
"Saeyoung-"
"I'm transferring schools."
Taeyong's jaw dropped, "What?"
"My mom wants me to transfer. I'll probably move too." She turned to him with a bitter smile on her face. "Sorry. Looks like you have to find a new victim."
Taeyong's face darkened at her choice of words. Victim.
I'm the one who should be apologizing.
She stood up. "If you're here to tell me something, say it now or I'm going inside."
Saeyoung waited but Taeyong sat still. She looked at him one last time. "I'm going."
Taeyong quickly grabbed her arm before she could walk away. I like you-
"I'm sorry."
Saeyoung flinched at his touch, and he hated it. "You're what?"
Taeyong sighed, "I'm really sorry, Saeyoung. I never meant for things to go this far. I should've stopped them before-"
Saeyoung wanted to cry but chose not to. She didn't want to show him her weak side anymore. "Well what's done is done. Thanks for your apology." She curtly said before walking away.
Taeyong stared at her back as she disappeared into the hospital.
"What I really wanted to say was that I like you, Lee Saeyoung. But I know that a coward like me doesn't deserve you."
