Jeonghan lazily watched Seungcheol taking care of Hyejung as she played video games, silently ridiculing Seungcheol in his head. Poor boy. She'll never know unless you tell her, you idiot.

Seungcheol cheered, sitting right next to Hyejung who just beat the highest score. "Ha! Beat that, Jeonghan!" 

Jeonghan shook his head as Seungcheol praised her as she started a new game, her goal now to beat her highest score. If Sophia called Vernon by his name, Seungcheol would have scolded her. With Hyejung? Hell no.

Ever since his best friend fell head over heels for his little sister, Seungcheol became her slave. Whenever Jeonghan called him to hang out: "Sorry, I'm picing Hyejung up from school." When he wanted to go get something to eat: "Sorry, Hyejung wanted me to buy her banana chips." Whenever he wanted to do anything, it was always Hyejung this, Hyejung that.

Jeonghan sighed and got up from the couch. He tapped Seungcheol's shoulder, signaling him to follow him. Seungcheol dropped the bowl of chips he was holding for Hyejung and walked into the dark hallway.

He walked into the lit bonus room he sometimes stayed in when he stayed past midnight, which was almost every night now that he had something for the daughter of the house.

Jeonghan shut the door when Seungcheol came in and stood in front of his best friend who was now sitting on the bed, bouncing and dangling his feet from the high mattress. 

"Why? Hyejung might need something-"

"Stop."

Seungcheol slowed the movement of his legs and warily looked at Jeonghan who spoke with a stern voice, which was very rare. 

"What?" He tried to pull it off with a chuckle. "Is something wrong? Trouble with Yerin?"

"No. Trouble with my best friend liking my sister."

Seungcheol stopped bouncing completely. "You said you were fine with it."

"I did, because you're my best friend but every time I look at you with her, I wonder if you're okay with it."

Seungcheol furrowed his brows. "What do you mean? Of course I'm fine. I'm happy-"

"Even when Jun is here?"

That shut Seungcheol up. He lowered his eyes, his bottom lip slowly poking out.

Jeonghan sighed. "Cheol, I don't want you to keep liking her because I know that it bothers you. I mean, how wouldn't it? You like my sister who already has a boyfriend."

The last word made Seungcheol wince. He agreed. He hated the fact that Hyejung was already taken by some kid a year younger than him. He hated the fact that she would never see him as a lover, only as a brother. He hated the word "boyfriend" because it just reminded him of what he couldn't be for Hyejung.

"I'm sorry for ruining your mood but you have to listen to me and think about it more. She's taken. I don't want you hurting."

Seungcheol decided to leave early that day, planning to finally go back to his own house. He paced his bags and was putting his shoes on when the door opened, revealing his worst enemy. Jun.

Jun saw him and smiled. "Hey, you're here again. Is Hyejung ready?"

Seungcheol hated the fact that he couldn't hate Jun at all. He was a good kid with a great personality and amazing dancing skills that he was slightly envious of. 

Hyejung ran down the stairs, looking as pretty as ever. She changed out of her sweats and let her hair down. She was smiling from ear to ear. 

"Bye Seungcheol! Tell Jeonghan that I'll be back after dinner."

She fit perfectly into Jun's arms as they walked out with the door shutting behind them. 

What Seungcheol hated the most was that Jun actually made her happy. He treated her well and made her smile.

He sighed and finished putting his shoes on. 

"Leaving?"

He turned around to see Jeonghan coming down the stairs. "You know what, let's go on a bros night out." Seungcheol raised a brow at him with a small smile on his lips. "Bros night out? You hate the idea of leaving the house."

Jeonghan slipped into his sneakers and put his arm around Seungcheol. "Not when my friend needs me. Come on."
