"Finally! I'm done with all of my AP tests," Regina leaned back on the locker next to Mingyu's.
Mingyu smirked, "You're that happy?"
"Of course I am! AP exams are the worst."
"We still have finals."
Regina groaned and hit his back. "Thanks for reminding me, doofus."
Mingyu chuckled and shut his locker while putting his backpack on. "I want to take you somewhere."
Regina tilted her head, "Where?"
"I think you'll like it."
Regina glanced around in suspicion as Mingyu drove up a hill past the big streets. "Where are you taking me? This place is deserted." She narrowed her eyes at him. "It better not be some shady place like last time. I thought we were going to get mugged!"
"Just wait."
Mingyu slowed down when they came close to a bridge that led to a mountain far from the main city. "Okay, we're almost there but past that bridge is a trespass zone. And we're going to pass it."
"WHAT? Are you crazy? Kim Mingyu, we have to turn back."
Mingyu waved his hand in the air. "Stop complaining. Who bought you the Taco Bell in your hands?"
Regina pouted, "You."
"Right. So listen to oppa and stay calm."
Regina pretended to gag at the words "oppa." Mingyu drove past the bridge and up the spiral road to the top of the mountain.
"Mingyu, I really think we should turn back. What if the police comes?"
"I've been here with Wonwoo many times and we never got caught, don't worry."
Regina bit her nails as they reached the top of the mountain. Mingyu parked the car on the side and got out of the car. Regina unbuckled her seat belt and followed him with the bag of Taco Bell.
"Woah." Her eyes sparkled when she saw the view. From where they were standing, they could see the huge forest behind the mountain, all the tall and colorful trees and hills nearby, and the sunset was just amazing.
Mingyu took the bag from her and sat on a rock. He unwrapped a chicken wrap and took a bite. He moaned, "It's so good."
"Hey, that's mine!" Regina snatched the wrap from his hands with a scowl.
Mingyu chuckled and wiped his mouth. "Here," he took out his buritto and gave it to her. "You can eat some of mine."
Regina couldn't resist his offer and took a bite of the burrito before sitting down next to him and eating her chicken wrap.
"I told you you'd like it."
Regina smiled, "It's so pretty."
Mingyu gazed at her with a lop-sided grin on his face. "It sure is."
Just then, a car zoomed past behind them. Regina gasped and looked back. Someone saw us! What if they call the police?"
"I told you. Wonwoo and I never got caught."
"Mingyu! I'm not joing. I don't want to get arrested."
"And I am joking."
"What?"
Mingyu snickered, "This isn't a trespass zone."
Regina gawked at him. "Oh. My. God. Kim Mingyu, I'm going to kill you!" She chased him around the hillside while Mingyu laughed and ran away. "You're so gullible!"
Regina sighed and leaned back onto the passenger seat. "All the stress that was piled up is gone now. Thanks, Mingyu. You always know how to take my stress away."
Mingyu smirked and grabbed the wheel. "That's the only reason I bought this bad boy."
They started to drive down the mountain when the car made a weird noise. "What's going on?"
Mingyu's eyebrows furrowed, "I don't know."
The car slowly came to a stop and the engine died. "."
"What?"
"I forgot to get gas."
"Stop joking and take me home."
"I'm not joking..."
"Kim Mingyu!"
Regina leaned against the car and stared at the pink sky. "Alright, I called Triple A and they're on their way." Mingyu leaned next to her.
Regina nodded and wrapped her arms around her body. "Are you cold?" Mingyu took a blanket out of his trunk, the one he kept in case she got cold, and wrapped it around her.
"Thanks."
"Mm."
They stared at the disappearing sunset.
"Did you decide on what college you want to go to?"
"Not yet. You?"
"I think I'm going togo to Ewha."
Mingyu's eyes widened, "That's all the way in Seoul."
"I know. I think it'' be nice to experience life in the city before I officially grow up, you know? Escape this small town."
Mingyu pursed his lips and didn't respond.
"What about you? Are you going to stay here?"
Mingyu shrugged, "Probably. It's not like I have the grades to get me into a big university anyway."
"I'm going to miss this, having you by mt side, taking me to new places and joking around like today."
Mingyu softened.
"I'm going to miss you, too."
His eyes widened again as his heartbeat sped up. Regina turned to him and smiled. "You'll miss me too, right?"
Mingyu stared at her for a while, taking note of all her soft features that he fell in love with everyday, before smiling. "Of course."
Regina sighed and leaned against his shoulder. It was times like this when Mingyu felt the happiest. Although he knew Regina only saw him as a friend, he was fine with it as long as she was by his side.
"I hope the tow truck comes soon. It's getting late."
"Yeah..." Mingyu replied, but on the inside, he wished the tow truck would never come so he could spend the little time they had left just like this.
