Pairing: Myungyeon

Plot: Jiyeon and Myungsoo is a one year married couple who has just divorced. Myungsoo promoted her friends to Jiyeon to marry while Myungsoo has got a new girlfriend. But when Jiyeon and his promoted friends gonna married, both Myungsoo and Jiyeon still love each other. 

“Myungsoo oppa, I hope we will still be friends after today.”

Myungsoo smiled and took his hand up for a handshake, “Friends, baby gir- Oh no, I should call you by your name now, Jiyeon-ah.”

Jiyeon smiled to his, and took placed her hands in his, “Oppa, let’s keep in contact, shall we?”

“Of course, Jiyeon-ah. I won’t change my contact number.”

“Same here, oppa. I shall go now. Let’s meet up sometimes. I have to take my stuffs in your apartment too.”

“Right.” Myungsoo took his hand back and waved slightly, “See you soon, Jiyeon-ah.”

“Bye oppa.”

After waving goodbye, the two turned around and went on their separate ways, right in front of the family court.

Jiyeon took a deep breath and turned her head around. She stared at his back and whispered to herself, “Myungsoo oppa… I hope you live well. I’m letting you go so you will be free, just like how you wanted.”

After he disappeared in front of her, she finally went her own ways, back to her parents’ home.

They had been a loving couple ever since they met in the office. They were in the same department and Jiyeon sat right opposite Myungsoo.

After getting along well, they finally confessed their feelings to each other.

Of course, Myungsoo was the one to confess first, since Jiyeon was a shy normal young lady.

They got together for about 2 years or so, before Myungsoo finally landed the golden question on her. He asked her hands for marriage, and even met her parents to ask for her.

Her parents were open-minded. They agreed with whatever Jiyeon did, since they always said she was already a big girl then.

They got married after going on for two years, and were a loving couple as always.

But as the days went by, the two started to fight for countless of things, mostly nonsensical, and in the end, they finally agreed to get a divorce.

Myungsoo suggested the divorce, just like how he asked for her hands.

He gave her time to think about it, and Jiyeon finally came down with a decision. Since they were having a hard time together during their marriage, so why not separate before it got worst.

There they were, just getting their divorce papers signed in the court.

Myungsoo returned to his apartment and Jiyeon returned to her previous home, to stay with her parents.

Jiyeon walked down the empty street as lots of different kind of thoughts went through her mind.

What will happen to her now?

How will she react when they see each other in the office?

Will Myungsoo be living well as before?

Will he be able to do his laundry and cook his own breakfast?

What will happen to his chores?

She admitted that she still loved him, at that moment, but she believed if both parties didn’t give in enough amount of love, the relationship won’t go on. If the love between them began to die down, the relationship would go rusty.

So she rather breaks it off then.

Jiyeon hoped that in the near future, she would then be able to meet someone more suitable for her, and someone who will love her like how Myungsoo did before.

Maybe, she would be able to get over him soon too.

Jiyeon reached home only when the sky turned dark, which worried her parents a little.

“Yeon? You’re home?”

“Omma, you’re not asleep?”

“I was waiting for you.”

Her mom went over to her and pulled her into a tight hug. “I’m not going to ask if you’re okay. I believe you are a sensible child. I know you just need a hug.”

Jiyeon bit her lips to stop it from trembling and buried her head into her mom’s neck, to hide her tears away.

“Omma, thank you.”

Her mom patted her back gently, and soothingly, for the next few minutes, before letting her back to her room again.

Jiyeon was always glad that she has such understandable parents. Her parents would be there for her when she needed them, even without asking.

That was why she decided to return to her parents’ home. She has the money to rent, or even buy, an apartment, but no, she needed comfort from her parents.

Her parents gladly welcomed her home too.

Jiyeon stepped into her room and lay flat on the bed tiredly. “Let’s hope tomorrow will be a better day…”

Myungsoo, on the other hand, returned home to an empty apartment. He looked around before sighing in dejection, “It seemed silence now.”

After placing her stuffs on the kitchen’s counter, he walked back to his room and took a warm bath before slacking on the couch for the rest of the day.

It was boring indeed.

He knew it would be like this, but the result was for the best. The divorce would bring both of them good, so he has to do it.

Myungsoo felt his love slowly dying for Jiyeon.

Maybe he was jealous about how his friends were single and playing around.

Maybe he was just unhappy about how Jiyeon cares for everything, to the extent that he felt that he can’t breathe.

Maybe it was because of the fights, which got worst every day, and so he decided to divorce his ex-wife.

That may be his reasons but this was for the best – was what he thought.

Myungsoo stayed on the couch and stared into the drama on the television. He was too engrossed in the drama and got lazy to move about.

“Baby girl! Can I have some water, please?”

No response and no movements.

“Baby girl~?”

Myungsoo frowned and looked around.

“Damn it.” He hissed to himself and rolled his eyes, “We’re divorced, Myungsoo! Divorced!” Shaking his head at his own silliness, he shut the television off and headed off to his room, trying to sleep in until another day.

It may be the best since it will be a new day for him.

But the thought of seeing Jiyeon in the office was awkward for him.

He too, had thoughts about that issue in mind. *Will she be awkward too? What will happen to us in the office? How will we react and how will the people react?*

Shaking his thoughts off, he finally decided to sleep.

“Good morning~ Good morning~” Myungsoo entered the office as he bowed at his colleagues. They bowed in response and greeted him. His colleagues knew about what had happened, but of course, they wouldn’t show that they were actually those busybodies in front of the couple.

Although he did that, his eyes were scanning the whole room to look for the girl he used to love. But weird enough, the girl was not to be found in the office.

Just then, the door of their boss’s room opened and Jiyeon came out with a smile on her face.

Myungsoo walked over his table and waited for her to return to hers. “Hey.”

Jiyeon waved slightly and smiled brightly at him, “Good morning~”

“How’re you doing?”

“Well~” Jiyeon nodded her head slightly as she began to keep her stuffs in to a box. “I’m fine. How about you, oppa?”

“I’m fine too…” Myungsoo replied as he began to frown at her actions. “What are you doing, Jiyeon-ah?”

“Oppa, it’s obvious isn’t it? I’m packing up!”

Myungsoo shook his head and stepped closer to the boarder which separated the both of them and placed his hands on top of it. “I know! But, why?!”

“I’m leaving, oppa.” Jiyeon smiled and placed her photo frames back into the box. “I’m thinking of changing the environment.”

“Jiyeon-ah…”

Jiyeon knew at once when she heard that tone. He was guilty.

“Oppa.” She smiled and placed her hands on top of his, “Don’t feel that way. I’m really going to a new environment for a change. I feel that I should take a rest before starting on a new job again.”

Myungsoo continued to frown but Jiyeon squeezed his hands lightly, “Don’t worry, oppa. I won’t change my number. We will keep in contact, don’t we?”

“Yeah…” Myungsoo nodded his head slightly as he began to think about the whole situation. “We’ll keep in contact, promise.”

“That’s it.” Jiyeon covered her box and picked her bag up from her chair, “I’ll see you around, oppa.”

Myungsoo waved slightly, for the last time, and Jiyeon left the office after greeting her colleagues. He sat back down on his seat and began working on his work, but his mind was always out of his job scope.

He was sure that Jiyeon quitted because of him, but he didn’t imagine she would actually quit. He thought they might still be friends after what had happened, but she doesn’t seem to think so.

*I hope she will feel better…* That was on his mind the whole morning.

He didn’t even have mood to go out for lunch so he decided to simply get a mini snack at the pantry. But even before he could enter the pantry, he has to hear some nasty thing about him.

“Told you. Those two won’t last long forever. They divorced only in a year.”

“But they looked so cute together.”

“Too bad. I guess it’s because of Myungsoo. Look, Jiyeon even resigned from her post.”

“I guess so too. Jiyeon looked kind of a poor thing now.”

“I hope she will be alright. Myungsoo is just a jerk.”

*Was I that much of a jerk?* He was analyzing the words he just heard to even realize his colleagues saw him.

“M…Myungsoo…”

“Hey.” Myungsoo smiled and entered the pantry, as though he heard nothing.

The two girls gulped nervously and rushed out of the pantry at once, trying to get away from the embarrass moment.

Myungsoo lost his appetite in the end, and went back to his seat to think about the whole situation.

He picked up the mini Mickey Mouse on his table and rubbed on his head, “Did I really do the right thing? Do I still love Jiyeon?”

He stared at the silent Mickey Mouse and sighed deeply. “Live on, Kim Myungsoo.”

Just like that, they hadn’t seen each other for 3 months.

Jiyeon went around Korea just to enjoy herself, as said. She had no rush for the need of money, so she can enjoy her holiday at the mean time.

She had gone around Korea just with her backpack and she absolutely loved the freedom. She recently returned back home right after a month of trip around the western part of South Korea, and her parents had been asking her when she wanted to settle down again.

Jiyeon had no choice but to look for a job and tried her luck to find love again.

She managed to apply a job in a bank, a totally different situation and environment as compared to her previous job.

This will be a new challenge which she was willing to take on.
