“Jiyeon?”

The said girl simply had her eyes zoned out. They were looking at him, but he knew she had her mind elsewhere.

JB sighed and placed his hand on her cheek gently, “Park Jiyeon.”

She finally returned to her senses. “Eo?”

“I’ve been calling you for three times.”

“I’m sorry, Jaebum-ah.”

“It’s fine.” JB smiled, understanding what she was thinking. “What do you want for lunch? I’ll get you what you want.”

“What do you want?”

“I’m getting ginseng soup.”

“I’ll get the same then!”

“Alright.” JB smiled and pecked her forehead before walking to the ginseng store in the school’s cafeteria.

Jiyeon returned her mind to where she thought it belonged, and thought back to her past again.

“YEON-AH!”

Jiyeon beamed widely as she stood up from the bench she was sitting, welcoming the guy happily. Once he reached her side, they pulled each other into their arms and hugged tightly.

“I missed you so much.”

“Me too, oppa.”

He released first, but his arms were still around her waist. “Did you behave during lessons?”

“Kim Myungsoo!”

Myungsoo giggled happily before pecking her lips gently, “Love you.”

Jiyeon melted at once.

She stood on her tippy-toes and pecked his lips too, “I love you more, oppa.”

“Jiyeon, your food is getting cold.”

Jiyeon blinked when she heard JB’s voice again. “Ah, I’ll eat now!”

JB sighed, once again, as he placed his utensils down on the table, losing his appetite immediately. “Jiyeon-ah.”

“Hmm?”

“You still love him, don’t you?”

Jiyeon too, placed her utensils down with a guilt-ridden expression on, “I... I do...”

“But you’re my girl now.”

“I know, Jaebum-ah. I’m trying.”

JB let out a small smile before grabbing her hands into his, squeezing it gently, “And I’ll wait for you no matter how long you need.”

“Thank you, Jaebum-ah.”

“It’s because I love you so much.”

“Oppa~”

“Eo?”

“Eat up! Your food is getting cold!”

Myungsoo smiled brightly before opening his mouth, ready to get the spoonful of rice and kimchi into his mouth from his current girlfriend.

“Yummy?”

“Of course it is!” Myungsoo cooed, as he her hair gently, “Because it’s being fed by you, my girl.”

“Oppa! You’re being cheesy again!” Krystal laughed, but she was happy about it, obviously. She had hearts filling her eyes completely.

“That’s because it’s you.”

Krystal nudged him playfully, in which he did the same, but stopped when she spotted the couple in a corner of the cafeteria.

“Oppa, look! Jiyeon unnie has someone else too!”

Myungsoo looked up and nodded her head with a happy smile on. “I’m glad then!”

“Don’t you like her anymore?”

“Nope.”

“Are you sure?”

“Of course. You’re the one I like now!”

“Oppa, I trust you!”

“Trust me.”

Myungsoo took another spoonful of rice by his girl again, but his eyes returned to his ex-girlfriend. He had no idea why, but those pair of eyes just returned to her view. *Was she this skinny before? Has she been eating well? Is Jaebum mistreating her? She doesn’t look happy when she was with me though. Where is her smile?*

But his mind left Jiyeon alone when Krystal shook him back to reality again.

Myungsoo and Jiyeon was once a couple.

They loved each other so much.

To the extent that they will miss each other even though they were just a classroom away from each other.

Yes.

Their love was so strong.

They were together for 3 years.

3 long years.

But they left each other when they had a misunderstanding. It was not a minor misunderstanding though.

It was awful.

Jiyeon received photos through her phone. photos of Myungsoo on a bed with another girl. The girl was not shown, but the guy was clearly Myungsoo.

It was him.

Jiyeon confronted him about it too.

He admitted it. He said he was out at the club with his usual group of friends, hanging around and joking around since Sunggyu got into his dream university.

Things got up to a higher level and Myungsoo woke up in a hotel room. He was . He knew something was wrong right when he woke up.

But the girl was gone.

He knew he did it. He betrayed her.

Since he was an honest guy, he admitted everything. But to Jiyeon, she couldn’t forgive him easily.

How could she?

He could have controlled his alcohol since his tolerance level was so low. He could have stop but he didn’t.

Instead, he went on and on and on and ended up in a hotel room .

Who wouldn’t be mad?

So Jiyeon did what almost every woman would do.

She suggested having a break up.

She said she can’t go on like this, lying to herself everything was fine. So she proposed to break up with him.

After much argument, he agreed out of anger.

He loved her too.

He loved her so much, so much. Just like how she loved him. But to him, he found her ridiculous and over-reacting.

So he left.

And soon, Krystal came up to him and comforted him. JB came up to Jiyeon and comforted her. They found someone else.

Myungsoo moved on.

But Jiyeon didn’t.

Her mind always, always, always returned back to Myungsoo. Whatever she did, wherever she was, or whoever she was with – she linked everything back to Myungsoo.

Those happy memories were floating back to her mind - always.

She knew he moved on, but she couldn’t. She didn’t have the heart to forget Myungsoo. No. Myungsoo was her first and last love. No one else.

JB was just a pillar for her to lean on when she needed someone. She had no feelings for JB, she knew it too. She knew it was bad and she felt guilty leading JB on.

But she needed someone or she’ll break apart.

“Jiyeon-ah.”

“Hmm?”

“Can you be honest with me?”

“Of course, Jaebum-ah.”

They were at his house, since he asked her over for a movie marathon. It was a Saturday, and they had nowhere else to go.

The movie just ended. JB didn’t put in a new movie but he squatted down right in front of her, grabbed her hands, squeezed it tightly, and looked right into her eyes. “Do you love me? Even for a tiny bit? Does your heart have a place for me?”

Jiyeon kept silent.

“Not at all?”

Jiyeon bit her lips and looked down in guilt. “I...”

“I know.”

“I’m sorry, Jaebum-ah.”
