He even requests her to be one of the bridesmaids and to perform/sing. And of course, Jiyeon accepted it.
Years later, OC passed away and Myungsoo met Jiyeon again, and they fell in love.

The sky was dark, and the night breeze was strong. That night, in Han River, one man and one woman were walking down the tracks by the huge river.

They knew each other, yes.

But they had no idea they were in the same park.

The woman walked down the tracks as she moved her hair behind her ears, since the night breeze was blowing strongly which caused her hair to fly crazily.

The man, however, had his head lowered the whole time. His guts told him to tilt his head up, and he did.

And he never once felt so thankful to his guts. His feelings had been telling him the wrong thing the whole time, and finally it did something right.

There, in a distance ahead, he saw that woman he longed to see for years. She had disappeared from his life for years, and he used all these years to look for her.

He thought that night would be the night to give up, so he went to the river they used to go, to send her away.

But there she was.

He knew.

He just knew, fate wanted them back together.

He missed the chance before, but he won’t miss it again. The man looked at her every move as he stood still in his position.

The woman had no idea what stood before her, since she had her eyes on the river.

The man looked at how she moved her fingers through her hair, and how her eyes wavered down to the river.

He knew she was thinking about him.

Why?

Because he told her before: “I wanted to be the river so much because if so, I could flow to the big sea and out to the big ocean to see the world!”

That was when he was still 8.

Now that he grew up, he wanted nothing to be like the river. What was the use of seeing the world if he couldn’t even find that someone again.

The man walked closer to her, without her knowledge since she had her body facing the river now. He was so close to her. He was so close yet so far.

He wanted to hug her tightly in his arms and never let go. He wanted to let go of her again.

But just when he was about to wound his arms around her, she spoke to herself. He definitely heard it.

“Myungie… I miss you.”

The man cried silently and wound his arms around her. Finally. Finally, he did.

The woman let out a small gasp as she tilted her head down to look at the pair of arms around her waist.

But before she could move, the man spoke.

“I miss you too, Yeon.”

The woman widened her eyes as tears filled it, “Myungie…” She could feel her breath being taken away.

She would never thought of meeting him then. She would never imagine he would be there. She would never ever imagine of hearing him voice again.

Because after watching him walking into the church and marrying someone else, she let him go.

“Yeon.” He buried his head into the crook of her neck and sniffled sadly. He was just about to cry. “Don’t leave me again. Your Myungie was so scared.”

She turned around, still in his arms, and wiped his tears away. She just knew he was crying. “Myungie can’t cry. Myungie is a strong boy.”

He grabbed her hands and squeezed it tightly as he pressed them deeper against his cheeks, “Then don’t leave me again.”

She sent him a sweet and loving smile before pressing her forehead against his, “I promise I won’t leave again. I’m sorry.”

They pulled each other in for a tight hug, burying their heads into each other’s necks.

After a long reunion hug, he grabbed her hand and they continued the walk down the tracks together.

It was silent for a little while, but it was a calm silent. They were both satisfied.

“Erm…” She cleared as she started swinging their hands. “I’m sorry about Minhee. I can’t attend her wake 2 years ago.”

“It’s fine.” He smiled as he lowered his head. He was sad his wife passed away, of course, but that sadness couldn’t be compared to how he lost this woman beside him, 3 years ago.

Jiyeon spotted his solemn face and thought he was thinking about his wife. “Well… Don’t be sad! I’m sure Minhee would be watching you up there! She has to go, right? You have to let her go, Myungie. It’s been two years. She can go peacefully if you let her go. I’m sure you will find your happiness soon!”

He tilted his head up, just to face her, only to realize she was looking up at the sky. “If you miss Minhee, just look up there and I’m sure the brightest star is her. She would be sparkling at you, telling you everything is okay.”

*What the hell is she thinking?!* His brows almost met each other, but when he recalled why she left, the frown disappeared at once.

Of course he knew why she left. He read her diary which she had forgotten to take with her.

The man stopped his tracks, turned her to face him before grabbing her arms, “Look, yeon. I’ve let Minhee go long before. You want to know something?”

The woman tilted her head to the side, indicating that she was confused, “Right after we got married, I realized she wasn’t the one. And she too, knew I wasn’t the one for her.”

She had her eyes widened at his words. “Myungie… What are you talking about? You married her because you love her!”

“No!” He squeezed her arms unconsciously, but she too, wasn’t aware of the pain. “I treated her as my sister all along. She too, said she felt that I was like her brother. Minhee told me that herself. After we got married, and after you disappeared to who knows where, Minhee finally opened my heart. She talked me out. Then was when I realized you were the one, not Minhee. And you’re still my only one.”

She pushed his hands away and took a step back, “Myungie… What are you talking about? I’m so confused.”

He took a step forward and grabbed her arms again, this time softer and gentler. “When you’re gone… When you disappeared out of my life, I was so lost. I went into depression, do you know that? Minhee was with me, but I can’t even see her. She finally scolded me, after taking in all my nonsense. And everything she said was so true.”

“What… What did she say?”

“She said in my head, I only have you. In my heart, I only have you. But my conscience told me I can’t be with you because we’re friends. My guts told me we’re just best friends and no more. She’s right. I’m a coward, and because of me, I’ve caused all three of us to suffer.”

“But-”

“I mean it, yeon. I mean it. After she told me that, I recalled everything we did together. When we were young, and when we entered high school. I feel like a jerk to both you and Minhee, yeon-ah. I shouldn’t have led her on, and I shouldn’t have let you go. You know what’s worse?” He didn’t let her have a chance to speak.

She looked at him, not knowing what to feel too, “W-What?”

“When I was with Minhee, all I said and talked about was you. I compared Minhee to you, and you always won. Minhee simply laughed it off and said of course you would win since you were so much better than her. I felt like a jerk, yeon-ah.”

She brought her hands up to his cheeks, since his tears were falling again. “Myungie. It’s okay now. I’m sure Minhee wouldn’t blame you. Otherwise, she would have left you long ago.”

He pulled her hands down and placed it around his waist so he could move forward and hugged her tight, “I didn’t know…”

He was choking on his tears too. “I didn’t know… You loved me too…”

That tensed her up. “I… I-”

“I’ve read it.” He pulled away from the hug and took a book out from his pocket. It was a small book, and it looked childish.

But to both of them, it held a deep meaning within.

“This… My diary…”

“I didn’t know about it, yeon. I’m so sorry. I was such a jerk! You were about to confess to me, and I brought Minhee to you. And I even asked you to be our guest-of-honour, and I even asked you to sing for our wedding. I am the worse!”

She cupped his face and brought it up to face her, before sending him a sweet smile, “You’re not a jerk, Myungie. You just didn’t want to get hurt. You’re just protecting yourself. It’s not your fault. It’s all fated.”

“Fate.” He agreed, “And it brought us here today. After Minhee told me off, I searched around for you. I searched for three long years, yeon. And I’ve came here, to our usual place, to let you go. But you appeared. It’s all fated, yeon. We are fated to meet again.”

“It’s all fated.” She his cheeks gently and agreed. “We are fated to meet again.”

“Please don’t disappear again, yeon. I can’t lose you again. I can’t. I don’t like it. I can’t continue my life if you’re not by my side. It’s been a torture these 3 years.” He whispered his heart out, “I love you, yeon. I love you ever since forever.”

“Myungie…”

“I mean it.” He hugged her tight and pushed her head onto his chest, “Do you hear that? My heartbeat? It’s so fast, and it beats only for you, yeon-ah.”

She pulled back and pushed him away instead. Turning her back to him, she walked towards the river.

The man could only frown at her actions. “Yeon…”

“I can’t.” She whispered as she held onto the railing which was separating the land and the river, “I feel bad for Minhee. I can’t do this.”

The man moved to her and wrapped his arms around her shoulders, burying his head into her hair, “Do you know what her last word is?”

“Hmm?”

“She told me to find you no matter what, and she told me to get you back.”

“Myungie…”

“I love you, Par
