“Hello? Omma?”

“Hmm~”

“I’m sorry, omma. I could only return your call now. I was having a mini meeting with my team.”

“It’s alright, dear.”

“So why did you call me for?”

“Oh right! Are you free tonight?”

“Tonight? I guess so. Why?”

“Meet us at the Royal Hotel tonight, will you? We’ll be having our dinner there.”

“At a hotel? What’s the special occasion?”

“We’ll be having dinner with our friends. We wanted every one of us to meet up, and there will be a special announcement tonight. Come at 8. Don’t be late, dear.”

“Alright, omma. I’ll leave my work on time then. See you tonight!”

“Bye, honey. I love you~”

“I love you too, omma!”

Jiyeon ended the call and walked back to her seat. She was the manager of the design team in Peach Fashion, and she was a friendly and kind colleague to her team members.

Every one of them loved her, and when she said something, they simply followed suit since they always think Jiyeon was right, and her designing skills was the best.

Peach Fashion had earned a lot ever since she joined, so her pay wasn’t low too.

“Your mother?”

“Yup~”

“Such a loving family~”

Jiyeon giggled in joy before nudging her colleagues, “Don’t say that~ We have a perfect family, don’t we?”

“That’s right.” Hyejin giggled alongside her, and they returned back to work at once. Hyejin was her friend since high school, and they literally were stick together for life. She wasn’t jealous Jiyeon climb faster than her too. She knew, Jiyeon has the skill to climb on her own, and she was way better than her.

Their work ended quickly, since time flies whenever they were working, and Jiyeon finally headed to the Royal Hotel as told.

She reached the hotel in no time, and saw her parents in the lobby at once.

“Jiyeon-ah!”

The said girl smiled as she walked towards her parents, “Appa, omma~” She even gave both of them a hug before following them up to the restaurant in the hotel.

They had reserved a room for themselves, and they were the first to reach too.

“Who exactly are we meeting? I never once heard of your friends before.”

“They’re actually my best friend when we’re young. And your omma knew his wife too. We used to gather around and went for trips when we’re still in school but when we grew up, things changed and we got busy.”

“Yeah. We met up only last week, and decided to meet as a family again! We’re going to introduce you to a guy too.” Her mother had accidentally let the surprise out.

“Yeobo!”

“Ah! Oh man~ It’s supposed to be surprise!”

“What guy? You’re match-making me now? Omma~ Appa~ I don’t need a guy!”

Mrs. Park grabbed her hands and sighed sadly, “Yes you need it, dear. You’re already 24 and single? How could this be? We need a grandchild soon!”

“But omma!”

“Don’t worry, dear. I’m sure you will like him. Let’s just take a look first, alright? He’s a real catch, dear. I’ve seen him before. If I were way younger I would get him instead of your appa.”

“Yeobo!”

Jiyeon finally let out a chuckle at her mother’s joke. “I’ll go to the washroom first.”

“Right. Make yourself prettier would you? Although you’re already that pretty.” Mrs. Park teased and pushed her out, “Don’t run away or I’ll hunt you down!”

“I won’t, omma~” Jiyeon giggled as she exited the room, and walked down to the ladies.

She heeded her mother’s advice, and fixed her make-up after she had done her business, before returning back to the room.

But right when she exited the ladies, she bumped into a guy who was exiting the men too.

“I’m sorry.”

The guy rolled his eyes and waved it off, “Whatever.”

Jiyeon looked up and was about to retort back, but when her eyes caught his features, she turned speechless. *He’s so handsome! Like a prince charming!*

She could hear her heart accelerating, literally.

“Are you done staring? Move. I can’t walk.”

Jiyeon gasped lightly before moving to the side, “I’m sorry.”

The guy walked away with a scoff and disappeared down the corner. Jiyeon placed a palm on her chest and took long breathes in, “He’s really handsome and amazing…”

Yes, she fell in love at first sight. How cliché.

Jiyeon shook the thought away and sighed sadly when she thought about the purpose of the whole meeting with the opposite party. “It’s no use thinking about him too. Appa and omma wants me to meet someone else.”

She made a long sigh before heading back to their room.

She closed the door and walked back to her seat, but at the meantime, she spotted her parents’ friends inside too.

“Eo! Annyeonghaseyo!” She bowed politely while walking back to her seat, and her parents introduced them to her immediately.

“Just call us Kim papa and Kim mama would do. Or Kim appa and Kim omma. Whatever you want to call, just call. We don’t mind at all.” Mrs. Kim cooed, which made Jiyeon flustered.

“Kim papa and Kim mama?”

“Yeah! We’re going to be family soon!” Mrs. Kim just couldn’t keep her cool. “Oh man! Yeobo! Where’s Myungsoo?”

“I guess he went out for a smoke.”

“Smoke again? That son of yours…”

“He’s your son too, yeobo!”

The Park family just had to laugh at their actions. “It’s alright. We can wait!”

“I’m sorry, dear.” Mrs. Kim turned to Jiyeon and sighed sadly, “That son of ours is stubborn. He’s always giving us trouble.”

“It’s alright, Kim mama~” Jiyeon sent her a smile to assure she’s fine, and right at once, the door opened.

They turned their attention to the door, and Jiyeon widened her eyes at the sight of the guy. *It’s him! It’s him!*

“Myungsoo! What took you so long! Come over here!” Mr. Kim hissed, and he walked over to his seat after bowing lightly towards the Parks.

*HE’S THEIR SON! HE’S THE ONE! KYAAAAA!*

Jiyeon just had to squeal inwardly, happily.

“This is Jiyeon, Myungsoo-ah. She’s the daughter of our best friend as we’ve said. And Jiyeon dear, this is Myungsoo, our stubborn son!”

Jiyeon smiled shyly and waved at Myungsoo, but the latter simply rolled his eyes. “What am I doing here again?”

Mr. Kim rolled his eyes too, and gave him a smack on the back of his head, “Be polite, Kim Myungsoo.”

“It’s okay, Kim! Don’t do that to him.”

“He always needed this to wake up.” Mr. Kim sighed. “Shall we begin our dinner then?”

“Yes, of course.”

The dinner began, and it was only the adults who were talking. Both Myungsoo and Jiyeon were silently getting their food in, but Jiyeon was secretly taking glances of him. She just couldn’t take her eyes of him.

“So… The main purpose to get both of you here is to announce something related to both of you.”

That finally caught the attention of the both of them.

“We will be holding a wedding soon!”

Jiyeon brightened up and clapped her hands in joy, “Congratulations! Who’s getting married?”

Myungsoo could only scoff at her innocence, “Don’t you get it, ? It’s the both of us.”

“Us?”

“Yes, dear.” Mrs. Park cooed as she her daughter’s hair, “We’re getting the both of you married! By hook or by crook, the both of you have to get married next Friday! We’ve already sent the wedding invitations out!”

“But omma-!”

“No objections, dear.” Mrs. Park smiled cheekily at her daughter, “It’s settled.”

Jiyeon frowned and looked at Myungsoo, who was glaring at her, and from that moment on, she knew her life wouldn’t be easy if she got married to him.

The dinner ended in no time, with the adults doing all the talking, deciding on their after-marriage life. They headed home and finally Jiyeon could lay flat on her bed. She was drained from the whole day event.

Her mother walked into the room and sat on the edge of the bed then, “Are you mad at us?”

“Not really.”

“But you seem so sad.”

“It’s just… I think Myungsoo wouldn’t want to get married. He looked so fierce, and so angry just now. He was glaring at me the whole time. I don’t know much about him, and he too, doesn’t know anything about me. It’s just weird to get married like that.”

“But it’s often nowadays, dear. Everyone does that now.”

“I know…”

“How do you feel about him then?”

“Myungsoo… To be honest, I like him.”

Mrs. Park giggled as she pinched her cheek playfully, “He’s handsome huh?”

“Yeah. I met him before, right outside the washroom. I bumped into him that time, and I fell for him. He’s so handsome! Omma~ Is love at first sight possible?!”

“Of course it is. Why not?!”

“But it’s so fast and all~”

“Don’t worry. It’s normal.” Mrs. Park grabbed her hand and played with her fingers, “I’m so proud of you, my daughter. To be honest too, I can’t possibly send you off like that. You’ll be living with him outside, and I’m quite afraid too.”

“I’ll be fine, omma.”

“If anything happens, come to us alright?”

Jiyeon smiled and nodded her head, feeling better that she had confided to her mother. After that night, she dreamt about Myungsoo every night, till the night of their wedding.

It was a prestige wedding held in the same hotel, Royal Hotel, and everything was planned out perfectly.

Both Myungsoo and Jiyeon appeared right on time, and they followed the plan out accordingly too. Jiyeon was glad that she was going to get married to someone she loved, but Myungsoo was feeling otherwise.

He was sitting in his room, with his friends around him.

“Come on~ Be happy! It’s your wedding day!” Sungyeol cooed.

“How can I be happy? I don’t want this wedding at all. If it wasn’t for my credit cards, I wouldn’t even be here.”

“But you’re single too, and you’re a playboy~ Who knows? Maybe this wedding can stop you from playing around? Just treat her well and you’ll be fine.” Sunggyu advised then but he wasn’t taking it in.

“Whatever. I’ll just get this wedding over and done with.” Myungsoo scoffed and walked up to get the pocket flower into his pocket.

“”Who knows too? You might fall in love with her.” Hoya smirked playfully, but the said guy ignored him and walked out of the room.

His friends sighed and stood up too, before following him out to the venue.

They settled down on their own table while Myungsoo stood in front of the made-up altar, and waited for the bride to come in.

Within seconds, the door opened as the song played, and every pair of eyes turned to face the door. Jiyeon was indeed a beauty.

But to Myungsoo, she wasn’t. She was just ordinary.

Jiyeon walked in with her father, and the ceremony began quickly. They exchanged rings, and kiss, on the cheek, and finally the dinner began.

Guests only left around midnight, and finally, the newlywed was being brought back to their new house.

Everything was already there since it was a gift from both of their parents. Myungsoo dropped his blazer on the couch and walked back to his room at once.

Jiyeon sighed and took his blazer up before following him back, “Myungsoo…”

“What?”

“Erm… Are we going to sleep together?”

“You wish.” Myungsoo hissed before grabbing a new towel he found. “You’ll be sleeping elsewhere. This is my room. Get out.”
