Myungyeon, Yoogeun, Naeun

Jiyeon and Myungsoo were divorced due to him cheating on her during her pregnancy. After they divorced, their son, Yoogeun stayed with Myungsoo and his new wife, Naeun. When Yoogeun got high fever one night, Myungsoo rushed to the hospital to get him treated but the only doctor available is Jiyeon. 

Yoogeun was happily punching some messages into his daddy’s phone while his dad was in the bathroom.

Within seconds, he sent it to the only number he remembered.

And he got a reply soon after.

Yoogeun couldn’t be happier than ever. He longed to see that someone he hasn’t seen for ages but his dad and step-mom wouldn’t allow him at all.

Yes, step-mon.

He has a step-mom, and he doesn’t like her one bit.

Why?

She was abusive when his dad wasn’t around and she even threatened the little 5 year old boy not to tell his father or else he would be sent to the orphanage.

The poor little boy was scared.

So he kept quiet, and his only comfort was the one he always thought of.

His real mother.

Yes, he was actually texting his real mother using his daddy’s phone.

His real mother knew it, of course, thanks to his texting style and wordings. And he even told Yoogeun to delete all the messages they exchanged in order not to make his daddy and step-mom angry.

He did it obediently.

He was obedient and sensible.

He knew if he got to the wrong side of his step-mom again, he would be in trouble.

Even though he was 5, his mind was matured.

Yoogeun could finally smile when he saw his mother’s comforting text again. Once he sensed his daddy was about to come out from the washroom, he sent a last goodbye message to his mother and deleted all of it.

His mother was sensible too, and she didn’t reply him.

Yoogeun actually took after his mother – sensible and obedient and calm.

“Yoogeun-ah!”

Yoogeun looked up to his daddy and showed him a smile, before running back to his room. Myungsoo, being used to his actions, let him be.

He actually never once tried to get close to his son.

He didn’t know too, but his son was indeed a replica of his ex-wife, which he doesn’t like it one bit.

He doesn’t know when and how he lost interest in his wife too, and so, he did what most men did best – cheat.

When his wife had Yoogeun in her womb, he cheated on her.

Not that he doesn’t know about Yoogeun’s existence. He knew, but he chose to cheat just because he lost interest in his wife.

Naeun walked into the room and sat on the bed at once, hurrying Myungsoo over too. “Oppa~”

“Yeah?”

“Can I have some cash for tomorrow?”

“What for?”

“I have a small meeting with my friends, and they wanted to go to the restaurant in the hotel. I need some cash so I won’t lose face.”

Myungsoo nodded his head in understanding and got a few slips of cash for her.

Naeun couldn’t be happier. *MONEY!*

That was all she wanted.

Myungsoo was rich alright. He was the CEO in Kim Business Group and he held the highest shares inside.

Naeun simply got her golden tree easily, just by using one or two of her seducing tricks.

How stupid of Myungsoo to fall into her traps.

And well, it’s not as though his money would end too.

He could even use that money for the rest of his next 10 lives, and this small amount of money wouldn’t hurt him.

Yoogeun slipped under his bed and sighed sadly. “Omma~ Yoogeun misses you.”

He took the photo of his mother from under his pillow out and kissed it gently. After the divorce, Naeun took everything which belonged to Yoogeun’s mother and burnt it away.

When Myungsoo knew, it was too late.

Yoogeun cried the whole night, and even for days.

But he managed to grab a photo out of the ashes after the fire died down.

He knew why he was in this household.

His mother apologized every time they chatted, saying how she regretted she didn’t bring him with her. But he knew why she did that.

She wanted him to stay in the house so he could get everything he wanted. He could get anything he needed.

School, food, clothes, anything he needed, Myungsoo would get it for him.

He knew his mother still trust his daddy, and so he was being left in the Kim household.

But she didn’t know he was being abused.

Yes, Yoogeun didn’t tell her too.

He knew if he told his mother, she would do everything to get him out of this house. He doesn’t want to be a burden to his mother at all.

But he truly missed his mother.

That night, he cried to sleep again, while hugging his mother’s photo.

However, due to the chilly night wind blowing in from the window, he couldn’t sleep well that night. He tossed and turned around and finally when he felt uncomfortable, he cried.

He cried loud.

He cried madly.

He was in pain.

He cried for attention.

And Myungsoo rushed into his room at once. “What’s wrong? Yoogeun-ah. You’re a big boy now and big boys don’t cry.”

He continued crying instead.

Myungsoo sighed and got closer to him, trying to pat him to sleep.

That was when he noticed his temperature.

Myungsoo panicked at once.

He picked Yoogeun up, and dashed to the hospital, not even caring about his wife in their room.

“HELP! HELP! MY SON IS BURNING UP! SOMEBODY! ANYBODY!”

The nurse placed Yoogeun down onto the bed and pushed him inside, while he was still crying. An intern came over and checked him up at once, while Myungsoo stood by the side, watching them anxiously.

“He’s burning up and his heart beat is increasing!” The intern was panicking too. “Page for Dr. Park Jiyeon!”

Myungsoo widened his eyes when he heard that name. *That’s right. She’s here. She’s working here.*

Jiyeon ran over to the site, and she too, was shocked to find Myungsoo there.

But with her smart brain, she knew who was there.

Jiyeon panicked at once and ran to the bed after pushing Myungsoo aside, “Yoogeun-ah!”

“OMMA!!!!” Yoogeun finally spoke.

Myungsoo was so surprised to even move. He didn’t speak a word to him all the way to the hospital. He didn’t mention his mother at all. He was sure Yoogeun didn’t know how Jiyeon looked like.

But how?

He didn’t know, and he wanted answers.

Jiyeon pushed Myungsoo away from the bed, sent him a glare, and closed the curtains around the bed.

Jiyeon did a full body check-up on her son, only to know the truth about his condition. She managed to stable him, at last, before coaxing him to sleep.

Yoogeun definitely had the best sleep that night, with his mother by his side.

Jiyeon gave his son a peck on the head before walking out of the ward to meet her ex-husband. She needed a serious talk with him.

“How is he?”

Jiyeon scoffed at once. “Stop acting as though you care for him.”

“What are you talking about?!”

“You abused him, didn’t you?”

“What?! Where did that come from?!” Myungsoo raged, “Don’t think you can accuse me when you’re a doctor, Park Jiyeon.”

“I don’t accuse people without proofs.” Jiyeon hissed, “I have reports about Yoogeun being abused. His whole body was full with black bruises and some were long enough to be there as a scar. He was beaten up and pinched. You can get another doctor to check on him and the result will be the same.”

Myungsoo turned silence at once.

“And I have proofs when I found out you were cheating.”

He stumbled against the wall and buried his face into his palms. “You don’t even care about him, do you?”

“I do! I care for him!”

“No you don’t. Otherwise you would have known what Yoogeun really feels. Otherwise you would have known he was texting with me, using your phone, every night! IF YOU DO CARE FOR HIM, YOU WOULDN’T JUST KEEP YOUR EYES ON NAEUN THE WHOLE TIME!”
