Kris and Jiyeon like each other very much. They're each other's first love but never got to date. Kris wants to ask her out However because Kris moves back to Canada he pushes Jiyeon away and stops talking to her, leaving her heartbroken. 2 years later they meet again in college, Jiyeon begins to have feelings for him again, but acts super distant towards him. Kris doesn't know what to do until he finds a letter Jiyeon wrote years ago, he finally musters up the courage to tell Jiyeon his true feelings.

“Oppa…”

Kris smiled and pulled her closer to his side, “What do you want to eat? Order your meal and I’ll pay!”

“It’s fine, oppa! I can pay for my meal!”

“No, let me.” Kris insisted and urged her to get her meal ordered.

She did obediently, and he paid.

Together, they went to a table in a corner and settled down before munching onto their burgers. “Nice? Yummy?”

“HMM!”

“You’ve got crumps on your lips, silly.” Kris laughed as he wiped the crumps off, which made her blushed – again.

Jiyeon giggled shyly and lowered her head to hide her red cheeks, but he caught it perfectly.

“After this, we’ll go movie. Call?”

“Call! I wanna watch Kungfu Panda!”

“The second part? Have you watched the first part though?”

“Yes I did! The panda was so cute in his younger days and the shifu was so cool when he fights!” Jiyeon turned excited just by talking about it.

And it made him excited too.

They bought a pair of tickets for the movie right after they finished their lunch and that ended their day again.

The duo was the closest pair in school.

Kris and Jiyeon were the closest friend in school. They always stick together ever since they met each other during her first year.

She was a junior, and he was a senior.

They met at the archery club, and they clicked immediately.

Deep inside, they felt the sparks for each other but they dared not confess, afraid that the results would not be what they wanted and everything would turn out awkward.

How awful, isn’t it?

They loved each other and yet, they can’t say it out. They loved each other and yet, they are not together.

How terrible.

The duo had been friends for 2 years, and Kris was already in his last year of school. He was about to graduate soon too.

And they made a deal to enter the same university together.

He promised he will wait for her there.

“Park omma! I’ve sent Jiyeon back home safely!”

Mrs. Park smiled and gave Kris a tight hug as she welcomed Jiyeon come. “Thank you, my handsome boy. You’re the best guardian for my daughter.”

“She’s mine too!” Kris cooed and left after giving Jiyeon a hug too, “Bye~”

Jiyeon giggled and watched till he was gone before finally entering her house.

“In love much?”

“Omma!”

Mrs. Park laughed and hugged her tight, finding her so cute. “That’s how I was when I’m with your appa!”

“Really?”

“Yup! I think about him night and day. I waited for him to leave after he sent me home. I even waited for his call every night!”

“Omma~ So appa is your first love?”

“Yes! Just like how Kris is yours!”

Jiyeon laughed shyly as her cheeks turned red again, “Omma~”

“Hmm?”

“Do you think I should confess to oppa?”

“You can! It’s a new century now! Girls often take the first step too.”

Mrs. Park just gave Jiyeon the confident she needed. Jiyeon obeyed and ran back to her room, getting ready to write a letter to him.

And she did, after throwing away about 80 sheets of paper.

“Finally!”

And right on time, her phone rang.

She picked it up happily and chatted with Kris for the rest of the night – as usual. They usually talked till she slept, and he would hang the call when he heard her snores through the phone.

“Goodnight, my lovely girl.”

It was another day.

Jiyeon kept her letter and decided to confess when the day he graduate from high school. She will do it and she can do it! – She often encouraged herself that.

Days went by as usual for the duo, and finally, it was time for him to graduate.

But surprisingly, he didn’t appear during the graduation day.

Jiyeon grew worried.

She dialled his phone countless times, but he didn’t pick up any of it. “Weird… He’s not in some danger is he?!”

And she panicked.

Jiyeon ran all the way to his house and rang his doorbell till it opened.

The maid opened it.

“Ahjumma? Where’s Kris oppa? Is he home? It’s his graduation day today!”

“Miss Jiyeon…”

“Yes?”

“Mister Kris has returned to Canada last night.”

“E-Eh…?”

“He asked me to pass this to you when you came today.” The maid handed an envelope to her before bowing politely and closed the door.

Jiyeon looked at the envelope in horror.

She couldn’t believe it.

He didn’t even tell her about it and he left.

That’s cruel.

Jiyeon sat on the swing they always went and finally opened the letter, only to fill her eyes with tears at once.

“Jiyeon,

By the time you read this, I will be in Canada. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about this. Take care and goodbye.

Kris.”

“That’s it…?”

Jiyeon cried as she crushed the letter harshly.

“THAT’S IT?! TAKE CARE AND GOODBYE?!”

She threw the letter onto the ground and yelled in agony.

That was the day she started hating him.

With a blink of an eye, two years had passed.

Jiyeon went into the university they promised to go. She loved that course so she went, and deep in her heart, she hoped she’ll see him again, someday.

It was the starting of her second year, and she gladly entered her classroom as usual.

No friends.

No acquaintances.

No one.

She realized she doesn’t need anyone else.

Everyone will leave like Kris did, so why have the relationship?

So she was alone.
