Myungyeon, Kyuhyun

Myungsoo was a cold company president at a very young age. Jiyeon was chosen by Mrs. Kim as his secretary. Kyuhyun is a doctor that is courting Jiyeon.

“OMO! WATCH OUT!” Jiyeon rushed out to the road and pulled the lady back to the roadside. “It’s dangerous!”

The lady was clearly shocked. She almost gave her life up.

She had her heart beating so fast and when she finally calmed down, she looked at Jiyeon while holding tightly onto her arms.

“Are you okay?”

The lady finally smiled when she saw Jiyeon. She looked so pure and innocent and warm. “Yes, young lady. Thank you.”

“It’s nothing! I couldn’t let anyone be in danger when they’re right in front of me too!”

“What’s your name, lady?”

“Jiyeon! Park Jiyeon.”

“Jiyeon-yang.”

“Just call me Jiyeon will do!”

The lady smiled and held her hand tightly, “Then you can call me ahjumma. Kim ahjumma.”

“Kim ahjumma!”

Mrs. Kim smiled and pulled her along, “Are you rushing now?”

“Nope! I was on my way home, ahjumma!”

“Then you’re free now?”

“Yup!”

“Would you mind having a coffee with this old lady? Treat it as a thank-you drink?”

“It’s fine, ahjumma! You don’t have to thank me!”

“I insist.”

Jiyeon looked at the persistence in her eyes and gave up in the end. “Alright then. I’ll accompany you, ahjumma!”

“Thank you.”

They moved to a nearby café while chatting happily and Mrs. Kim got her a coffee indeed, even though she insisted on paying them.

They chatted for the whole night and without knowing, it was time for the café to close.

“Jiyeon-ah.”

“Yes, ahjumma!”

“Come over to my house tomorrow! You’re free right?”

“Yes, I am!”

“Then come over and chat with me, would you?”

“I would be glad to do that!” Jiyeon waited for Mrs. Kim to get onto her car before leaving for her apartment nearby.

She was always this helpful.

Jiyeon did appear at her house the next day.

Mrs. Kim gladly welcomed her in and she was simply awed by the interior. “Omo! It’s so beautiful! I didn’t know you’re so rich, ahjumma!”

“Now you do.” Mrs. Kim smiled and pulled her to the backyard. She had a small picnic area prepared for her.

“Ahjumma! You made this for me?”

“Yes, I did!”

“You don’t have to!”

“It’s for me too.” Mrs. Kim smiled and pulled her down to sit on the mat. “Ah~ It’s been long since I smiled.”

“What’s wrong, ahjumma?”

“My husband was gone when my son was young and I brought him up on my own. Now that he’s turning to an adult, he became so cold.”

“I’m so sorry…”

“Silly girl. It’s not even your fault.” Mrs. Kim her hair sweetly. “I wished for a daughter like you for a long time, and it’s as though heaven answered my prayers. They let me know you.”

“I will be your daughter if you want!”

“Really? You would?”

“Of course! My parents were gone when I was young too!”

“Oh my poor girl.” Mrs. Kim pulled her close and hugged her tight, comforting her. “Then you can come often, alright? We’ll have so much fun.”

“Yes! I’ll come visit you often, ahjumma.”

They had another enjoyable day that noon.

Jiyeon came back the next day, as insisted by Mrs. Kim, and they chatted the whole day again. “Right! You said you just graduated from university?”

“Yup!”

“Do you have a job now?”

“Sadly nope! But it’s okay! I’ll continue searching for one.”

“Why don’t you join our company?”

“Kim Hotel?! I… I can’t! It’s too big of a company! I…”

“Silly.” Mrs. Kim patted her back lightly, “I’m sure you can do it. I’ll let you in and you will be the secretary of my son.”

“CEO’S SECRETARY?!”

“Yup! And you will be able to come to my house often too! Now I’ll even visit the office often just to see you!”

“Ahjumma…”

“Just thank me, silly girl.”

“Thank you, ahjumma! I’ll work hard and not disappoint you!”

“That’s my girl!”

Jiyeon began work the following week and it was the first time she saw the CEO, aka Mrs. Kim’s son: Kim Myungsoo.

“Good morning, Mr. Kim!”

Myungsoo sat on his seat, not even bothering to reply her.

Jiyeon frowned and tried again. “Good morning, Mr. Kim! I’m Jiyeon and I’m your new secretary!”

She finally caught his attention. “Get out.”

“W-What?”

“Get out. Your job is not to disturb me unless I call for you.”

Jiyeon pouted sadly with her head lowered, “But I can’t sit there and do nothing. Mrs. Kim helped me in this company so I have to work hard.”

“Right.” Myungsoo smirked and she definitely saw it. “But too bad. I just want you to do nothing and make you feel guilty since you came in through connections. It’s unfair to the others, don’t you think so?”

“I understood that. I told your mother too but she said she insists I come in to be your secretary. I even told her I could do something else! But she doesn’t even listen to that.” Jiyeon frowned sadly with her head lowered again.

But Myungsoo was boiling inside. *Doesn’t she know I was trying to make her feel bad and humiliate her?! Is she that dumb or what?!*

Jiyeon took a step forward and bowed politely. “I’m sure you have many things to do, right? Please tell me. I will do everything you want me to do!”

“Anything?”

“Yes! I will do it if I can do it!”

“Then take a broom and clean the whole level, even the washroom. After sweeping the floor, mop it. And after the floor is done, clean the window glass.”

Jiyeon didn’t even reject it.

She smiled brightly and nodded her head enthusiastically. “Okay! I’m on it now! Leave it to me, Mr. Kim!”

Myungsoo stared at her blankly as she hopped off to the pantry to get the items she needed for the chores. “Is she really that dumb?!”

But he long forgotten about her when a call came in.

The whole day went fast for Myungsoo, but not for Jiyeon. She had aches all over, but she dared not complain.

Jiyeon finally finished the last piece of glass window and hopped back to his office. “Mr. Kim~ I’m done cleaning!”

To her surprise, he was sleeping on the couch.

She took small steps over so as not to wake him and hovered above him just to take a good look. “You’re handsome…”

She sighed when she thought about his attitude again, “But your heart isn’t.” She placed her hand on his chest gently and patted his chest twice, lightly. “Mr. Kim’s heart, please make him better. Don’t stay cold, would you? I’m sure Mr. Kim would like to know what the meaning of love is too.”

Jiyeon smiled as she looked back to his face. “You look so peaceful when you’re sleeping.” She took the initiative to get his coat and his chair and placed it on him, before hopping around the office to clean the furniture too.

Myungsoo opened his eyes, slightly, and looked at her movements throughout the room. *Just who are you, Park Jiyeon.*

Yes, he heard it.

He wasn’t sleeping.

He was just resting his eyes.

Myungsoo was a light sleeper anyway. He knew if anyone came into his room anytime.

“You can go now.”

Jiyeon jumped slightly and looked at him, “You’re awake, Mr. Kim?”

“Shut up and go now.”

Jiyeon pouted sadly and walked over to him, “But it’s not 6PM yet… And you’re not going…”

“It’s fine. Just go.”

Jiyeon was persistent. She shook her head and continued cleaning the area. “You can do your work, Mr. Kim! I’ll just clean the area up and we’ll go together!”

Myungsoo let her be.

He walked back to his seat and continued his job.

But of course, as the CEO, he always work overtime. He finished his last paperwork at 9PM, and realized Jiyeon was still around.

He wouldn’t lock her in the office, no. He wasn’t that cold.

Myungsoo walked around and finally found her in the pantry, sleeping.

She jumped up when her phone rang, and he hid behind the pillar as a reflex. *Oh God. Why am I even hiding?!*
