Myungsoo scoffed at the woman in front of him, “I didn’t know you were such a . All you want is my money, right? RIGHT? TAKE IT THEN!”

He took a pile of bills from his wallet and smashed on the girl’s face.

The girl’s eyes widened at the money on the ground. Without any words from her, she squatted down to pick the bills up.

“What a gold-digger. I must be blind to date you.” He spat and walked away, back to his car and drove off, but not without running over the bills she was about to collect.

“She doesn’t have dignity at all…” Myungsoo shook his head while looking at her figure from the car’s side mirror, “Why did I even love her?” And a tear dropped from his left eye. “I loved you but you... Such a disappointment.”

“Mr. Kim?” His secretary woke him up from his day-dream.

“Oh… Yes?” Myungsoo raised a brow and looked at his secretary in front of him. He was thinking about the same old thing again. It had been days, and every moment he thought about that girl, he couldn’t help but to be mad at himself. He always cursed at how stupid he was.

“This has to be signed.” His secretary placed a new file in front of him, on his table and urged him to read it.

“I will read it later, you can go back now. It’s 6 already.”

His secretary smiled at his kindness and bowed before leaving the company with light steps.

Myungsoo rubbed his temple due to his slight headache and opened the file in front of him. He wanted to read it but decided to finally give up since his headache is getting worst.

He picked up his coat and left his office at once, trying to get away from his so-called prison.

He didn’t like to be someone like this.

He didn’t like to be trapped in a four-wall room, reading documents and planning business every day.

He only wanted to be free. He wanted freedom.

But that’s just not his fate.

Because he’s the only heir of Kim Corps.

Driving along the dark roads, under the dark skies, all he could think about was nothing.

Plain nothing.

His mind was blank.

His head was empty.

Wait…

He suddenly thought of something.

His bed.

How he wanted to lie on his bed now, and slowly drift off to his dreamland.

He wanted peace.

But the road was long. To add on to his misery, there’s a small accident in front, which caused the whole road to be jammed.

Shaking his head in disappointment, he slammed his fist onto the steering wheel thrice to get rid of his anger.

He parked the car by the side of the road and got off the car immediately.

Even he, himself, thought that it’s impossible for him to drive at that moment. He might be the next one to get into an accident and caused another road jam.

Walking down the streets, he saw an appealing shop from afar and decided to walk towards it.

He looked up and saw the cute signboard of the shop, “Zigzag café?” Not believing this ‘zigzag café’ would make something as nice as its appearance, he decided to give it a try.

“One iced Americano.”

The cashier smiled warmly at his entrance and welcomed him. After keying his order into the system, she asked for the money cheerfully as well. “That will be $3.20, sir!”

“Here.” Myungsoo gave her his credit card suavely.

But she pouted when she saw the card. She leaned forward, nearer to Myungsoo and whispered softly, “Sir… You don’t have small cash? I don’t like to deal with cards.”

Myungsoo raised a brow at her behavior and shook his head innocently, replying her first question.

She pouted even further and took the card dejectedly, “I don’t like cards… They don’t listen to me at all…”

She began placing the card into the system but it didn’t work. The machine simply doesn’t like her, that’s it.

“You really have no cash?” She whispered to him while waiting for the machine to process again.

Thank God there’s no queue behind him or she’ll definitely get a scolding from her boss.

“Nope, sorry.” Myungsoo wanted to laugh at her expressions but he took them all in, not wanting to look bad in front of her.

“OH YES!”

And that made Myungsoo shocked, for sure.

She shouted out loud so sudden which made Myungsoo jumped, even her co-worker was astonished from the kitchen. “PARK JIYEON! DON’T SCARE ME LIKE THAT!”

Jiyeon, the cashier, pouted and looked at her co-worker, “Sorry! The machine finally listened to me, I was just too happy.”

Myungsoo chuckled at her explanation which made her shifted her attention back to him. “Oh My God. I must be looking so stupid! I’m so sorry!” She bowed and bowed, feeling so apologetic to the customer.

“Here you go, the payment is now complete! Please sit anywhere you like. I will serve you the drink soon! It’s a special service.” She passed the card back to Myungsoo before he could even reply and winked at him playfully. “Go on~”

Myungsoo laughed it off and walked towards an empty table by the window. “That kind of made my day. That kid sure is fun.”

“Here you go~” Jiyeon chirped while placing the iced Americano on the table. “Be careful, it’s hot~”

“Hot?” Myungsoo wanted to laugh but he decided to instead.

“OH MY GOD! I meant cold, cold! Oops~” Jiyeon bit her bottom lips shyly and scratched her non-itchy head, a habit out of embarrassment.

“It’s fine. It’s just fun teasing you, Park Jiyeon.” Myungsoo smiled playfully and sipped his cup of drink.

But Jiyeon still stood beside his table with her eyes wide. “How did you know I’m Park Jiyeon?!”

Myungsoo laughed out loud while clutching onto his tummy, “Your colleague called you just now, babo.” He continued laughing and that made her pouted sadly, “And there’s a thing called nametag.”

Jiyeon took a look at her apron and saw her nametag on her left chest. “Oops… But… You don’t have to make fun of me.”

Myungsoo took a peek at her pouting and sulking expression but that only made him laughed out loud again.

“You bad guy!” Jiyeon exclaimed and walked back towards her counter but Myungsoo stopped her by tugging onto her wrist.

“Jiyeon-ssi, does this café need any more employees?”

Jiyeon looked at him confusedly and pointed at the floor, “Here?”

“Yes, here. I want to work here.”

Jiyeon walked towards him and sat opposite of him, “even if there is, I won’t tell you!” And she showed him her tongue playfully.

Myungsoo chuckled and placed a fist on his mouth, “Why not?”

“Because you will disturb me and tease me more! There is one spot and we need people but I’m not telling you that!”

Myungsoo smirked playfully and patted her head, “thank you. You just told me you need people.” He finished up his Americano and walked towards the manager’s room.

Jiyeon widened her eyes at her slip of words and ran towards him to block his way, “NO! OUT OUT! NO!”

Myungsoo chuckled at her words and patted her head again, “Jiyeon-ssi, I need a job badly, you know? I think I will have fun working here.”

“You don’t look like you need one, stop lying!” Jiyeon exclaimed and didn’t allow him to walk further.

“I need it, okay. I need some job to relieve my stress.”

Jiyeon sulked at once and looked at him sadly, “you needed money too? I’m from a broke family too… I needed money to pay the bills and debts. Fine! Since we’re on the same boat, I shall let you off this time round! Go on, the manager is in the room!”

The ‘stress’ he was talking about means getting away from his ‘prison’ but Jiyeon took it the wrong way. She thought he’s broke as well, like her.

Myungsoo didn’t explain it since he thought this might be a good way for her to give up the idea of not letting him work. He thought this doesn’t mean anything at all, but he didn’t know how bad that thought was.

“WAIT!” Jiyeon ran to his front again and stopped him, “let me go in with you. Manager likes me a lot, don’t worry!” And she dragged the stoned Myungsoo into the manager’s room.
