“I’m home! Hello, appa. Hello, omma.”

Her parents were at home but they ignored her greeting. Jiyeon sighed and returned back to her own room.

It had always been like this ever since her brother passed away.

That’s right. It started so long ago. Her parents ignored her and pretended she wasn’t in the house, ever since she was 7.

All she could do, and all she knew to say to them was a simple word: yes.

She had never said no to her parents, afraid that it might anger them ever more. So whenever her parents ask her for something, she obeyed. She began to say yes to them after her brother passed away.

It was a sad period for the family, since her brother was the cheerful guy in the house. He built the atmosphere up for them, and their parents doted on him a lot.

But to receive a shock that their beloved son passed away when he was only 8, they couldn’t take it in. They blamed their only daughter since he was trying to save her.

She was running away from him happily, as they were playing catching in the streets, right outside their house.

But her brother slipped and fall, and he knocked his head onto the brick on the ground.

Jiyeon cried for him to wake up, but in the end, he did not.

Their parents blamed her for playing catching on the streets with him, but the truth was, her brother insisted on playing the game since he was bored.

Jiyeon didn’t even explain herself, and she put the blame on her, to make things better. She allowed her parents to blame her for all she cared. On the other hand, she felt better than way. She too, blamed herself for her brother’s death.

He passed away so innocently, and she blamed herself for that.

It had been 14 years since she had starting blaming herself, so did her parents. So she had been saying yes to her parents for 14 long years.

Of course, it wouldn’t turn out otherwise that night.

They settled down on the dining table again, and her mother brought out dishes of food for them. It was plain, but she was glad that they still fed her after hating her so much.

“Since you’re 21 now, you’re going to get married.”

Jiyeon froze up and stared at her father in shock. “M…Married?”

“Yes. You will get married to the son of Kim Group. It will help our business so just go with the flow.” That emotionless father of hers declared, which left her with no choices at all.

“Yes, appa.”

The dinner turned silence once again, and Jiyeon lost her appetite completely. She excused herself back to her room to cool her mind, but the marriage was stuck onto her brain like a parasite.

She didn’t even get to try the wedding dress, and she was being told that that day was her wedding day.

Jiyeon followed whatever her mother said. She told her to take off on that day, and she did. Her mother told her to meet them at the church, and she did. They didn’t even take the same car since her parents hated her presence so much. In the end, she got there by bus herself.

Her mother told her to put on the wedding dress, and she did.

He father told her to enter the church alone, and she did.

She did all of those things alone, with no help from anyone. Ever since her brother died, she kept everything to herself which made her left with no friends at all.

She walked down the aisle to the altar, and there weren’t even many guests in it. *My wedding is so pathetic. Why is it so sad, oppa? You would be here to protest this wedding if you’re still alive.*

When she saw her husband for the first time, she knew why the wedding was so secretive.

That man was so familiar, and soon, she recognized him as an idol, and for an idol to get married was like a taboo. She wanted so much to believe that the wedding was so low because he was an idol and not because her parents wanted it to be low, but her mind told her the latter reason was the most reasonable one.

She met eyes with her husband, but only to receive glare from him. Jiyeon swore she felt a cold shiver down her spine when she saw that.

“Now, since the bride is here. We shall let the wedding begin.”

Myungsoo turned to the front after rolling his eyes at her. “Seriously. Just get it over and done with. I don’t want to stay here for long.”

Jiyeon kept silent at his words. She knew at once that her marriage life would be hell then.

“Yeah, make it quick.” Jiyeon swallowed back a lump when she heard her own mother announcement.

The priest sent her a pitiful glance, but she smiled sadly back to him and nodded her head.

“Alright then.” The priest began the vow, and got the both of them to vow after him. They did, and exchanged rings in front of the priest. After the vows, Jiyeon got to know that his name was Kim Myungsoo.

“Now, groom. You may kiss the bride.”

Myungsoo smirked in disgust as he eyed her face, “Sorry, but no thanks. I don’t want to puke my breakfast out.”

Jiyeon took a deep breath and kept silent after his words. She fought so much for her tears to return back into her tear glands, and she did it successfully. She was being trained to be this emotionless.

Myungsoo’s mother was the only one who saw her reaction. She saw through her at once, and knew that she was suffering in her heart.

The couple was being led out to the road, and it showed Myungsoo’s car in front of it. Jiyeon’s parents stood by the side and waved her off nonchalantly, and Myungsoo simply went off to the driver’s seat at once.

Myungsoo’s mother was the only one who stopped Jiyeon. She fitted her tiara back to place and smiled gently back at her. “You look pretty now.”

Jiyeon blinked at her in shock, with tears in her eyes. She had no idea how to react to such situations. So all she could do was to make a bow to her and walked into the car immediately.

*Poor child… Don’t worry. Your mother-in-law is here for you.*

The car drove off and Jiyeon recalled how his mother treated her a moment ago. She was so overwhelmed by that feeling that she even realized they had already reached his apartment.

“Get down. We’re here.”

Jiyeon did as told and got off the car at once. Myungsoo too, got down from his driver’s seat and walked over to his apartment building.

“Get your luggage on your own. The apartment is on the 12th storey, unit 121. Pass code is my birthday, 130392.”

Jiyeon nodded her head obediently and got the luggage out from the bunk herself. She dragged it up to the building with much difficulty and finally reached his apartment.

The apartment was clean, and all she had to do was to settle in. Myungsoo was already out of her sight, and she knew at once he didn’t wish to see her at all.

So she went to find the room on her own.

There were only 4 rooms in the apartment, so she walked to the first down the hallway, only to find out that it was his study room.

The next room was the bathroom, so it was left with two.

Jiyeon walked over to the room down in the corner, and opened it, only to find Myungsoo sitting on his bed, talking on his phone with a smile on his face.

She had her hand on the door knob, but Jiyeon was awe-struck by his smile. *He can smile so sweetly too…*

However, Myungsoo caught her the next moment, and he glared at her to move out from his room. Jiyeon was still shocked at his smile so she stayed still on her position.

Myungsoo rolled his eyes at her behavior and smashed his pillow towards her direction to wake her up.

The pillow fell right onto the ground in front of her, and she looked at him blankly.

“OUT!” He mouthed it to her with his phone still on his ears, and Jiyeon caught it then. She got out of the room and leaned against the door with her hands on her chest.

Her heart was accelerating when she recalled his sweet smile a moment ago. But her heart turned sad once again, when she reminded herself that the smile wasn’t even for her.

Jiyeon let out a long sigh before walking back to her room, which was the last room located opposite of his, and settled her stuffs into her room.

“Shouldn’t married couple sleep together?” Jiyeon couldn’t help but wonder out loud, without knowing Myungsoo was right at her door.

“You wish.” She turned around in surprised only to find him smirking at her evilly, “I’m going out. Do whatever you want.”

“Yes.” Her only word in her vocabulary came out again. She just couldn’t say no to anyone else too, after saying yes for 14 years.

Myungsoo left the house with a loud slam on the door, scaring her for a moment. Jiyeon looked at her luggage and back to her small closet. “I guess you can fit it in. I have not much clothes too…”

The closet was small. Even a child’s closet was bigger than hers. But she had no complains about it. She told herself that she deserved all of that, so all she could do was to take everything in.

After packing her luggage out, and filled her small room with her stuffs, she found out that it was already late.

She didn’t have his phone number, so she couldn’t contact him if he would come home for dinner if she were to cook.

But once she opened the fridge, she was being left dumbfounded. It was empty to the extent that she had nothing for dinner. It only had water bottles in it, containing mineral water.

After grabbing her purse and phone, she walked out of the apartment and explored the neighborhood a little, only to find that the shops were a few distance away from them.

She had no choice but to take away some food that night, and she took notice to do a grocery shopping soon, during her off day.

Jiyeon returned back to their apartment only to find it still empty. “He’s not home yet? I thought he had his day off today from work too?”

She placed the food out into the plates and waited patiently for him for dinner.

However, as the time tickled off, he wasn’t home yet. Jiyeon decided to eat the cold food on her own, and leave some for him if he hasn’t eaten yet.

She was halfway through her food, and that was when the front door opened. Myungsoo walked into the apartment with a bright grin on his face, and Jiyeon knew at once he went out with someone he was happy with, unlike her.

“You’re back, oppa?”

Myungsoo cringed badly at her greeting, “Don’t call me that.” He snapped as he glared at her using his cold eyes.

“But what should I call you then? You’re born in 1992, and I’m born in 1993.”

“Just don’t call me. I don’t need to interact with you.” Myungsoo hissed and walked to his room, but Jiyeon stopped him again.

“But oppa, are you hungry? I’ve left food for you!”

“I said, don’t call me that!” Myungsoo roared before heading back to his room but stopped his tracks when she spoke again.

“Why do you hate me so much?”

He rolled his eyes in annoyance before turning around to glare at her. “Are you asking me that now?!”

Jiyeon lowered her head in fear at his loud voice, but she managed to nod her head to his question. “I have no idea why…”

“SERIOUSLY?!” Myungsoo roared, once again, this time even louder, which made Jiyeon flinched in surprised.

“Are you ing kidding me?! You are the one who got married to me! You are the one who became my wife overnight! You are the one who made my world upside down! You’re the one who destroyed my life! I’m an idol! I’M AN IDOL! WHAT IF I GOT CAUGHT THAT I’M MARRIED?! I WOULD LOSE FANS AND SOON, MY CAREER WOULD BE GOING DOWNHILL! DO YOU GET IT NOW?”

Jiyeon had no choice but to nod her head at his questions again. “I’ve got it now…”

“So don’t ever talk to me or appear in front of me again, . I have no intention to look at you now. You don’t appeal to me at all, and you’re totally not my style. You can do whatever you like but just don’t destroy my apartment too.”

With that last warning, he left her in the living room alone.

Jiyeon stared at his room in shock and returned back to her seat on the dining table. “But I’m suffering too… I was a victim in this marriage too.”

Myungsoo didn’t left his room that night again, and so did Jiyeon. The whole house was quiet and it felt so empty.

Before, Jiyeon thought that this marriage might be her little get away from her parents. She even told herself to learn to love her husband since they will be happily married. But no. Instead, it got worst.

She admitted she was being attracted to him.

She admitted she felt weird feelings in her when she looked at him.

Was it because he was her husband so she felt the need to love him? Or was it because she fell for his smile and charms?

She had no idea.

But all she knew was this marriage of hers wasn’t any get away. It was another hell for her.

The next day, Jiyeon woke up to an empty apartment. He was nowhere to be found, and Jiyeon believed he went to his idol schedules early in the morning.

Jiyeon prepared herself for her work and headed over to the hospital immediately. She found no reason to stay in the empty apartment for long, so she went to work earlier than usual.

“Hello, Dr. Park!”

“Hello, Dr. Park~ Good morning!”

Jiyeon beamed widely at her colleagues who greeted her early in the morning. She was happy that at the very least, she was being welcomed in her workplace.

She was being outcast at home, and even by her new husband, and she was glad that her colleagues didn’t do the same as her closed ones.

“The patient in room 304 is looking for you, Dr. Park! She wante
