Pairing: Myungyeon/Rian

Plot: Myungsoo is a man who is left by his wife, Rian (Jiyeon’s character in dh2) because of heart disease. he also have a cute little daughter. his heart is really empty since his wife dead. But as time goes, his heart slowly move on to this girl, named Jiyeon. Well, actually Jiyeon is Rian's younger sister. but Myungsoo doesn't love her just because she looks like Rian, but because he loves her the way she is, and his heart chooses her. and they will happy ending as a family, with a cute daughter and son(jiyeon&myungsoo's son)

“Ri baby, you okay up there?” Myungsoo was leaning against the bed and staring up at the wide night sky with shining stars on it.

“Are you one of them? Can you hear me?” He sighed and sipped his wine while blinking at the brightest star.

“I believe you’re the brightest one, honey. You’re always my best wife and Haewon’s best mommy.” He traced his finger on his family photo, particularly, the face of his deceased wife.

“Daddy…”

Myungsoo wiped away his fallen tear when he heard his daughter’s voice.

He put on a fake smile and turned his head around and saw his favorite girl, aside from his wife, in the whole wide world. “Yes, baby?”

“Daddy… Are you looking at mommy again?” Haewon entered the room while rubbing her tired eyes.

“Yes baby. I miss your mommy.” Myungsoo placed her on his lap and hugged her close.

“Daddy. Mommy came into my dream last night.”

“Eo? What did she say?” Myungsoo her head gently, luring her to sleep.

“Mommy told me to take care of you, daddy. And she said daddy should move on from mommy.” Haewon smiled slightly and pecked his cheek.

Myungsoo stared blankly at his daughter, “she did?”

*Rian wouldn’t do that. She wouldn’t… She loves me.*

“Yes. Mommy said you need a new wife to take care of you and she said Haewon needs a new mommy to take care of her. I see mommy smiling prettily, daddy. Mommy must be happy and wished for us to move on.” His 4 years old matured daughter told him.

“I… I’ll try.” Myungsoo lied to his daughter, and also himself, how could he move on from his favorite girl? He would be the worst if he really did that.

“Goodnight, baby.” He whispered and urged Haewon to close her eyes.

When he realized her steady breathing, he brought her back to her own room and settled her properly under the covers before returning to his bedroom.

He washed up and settled himself under his own covers as well.

Taking a last sip of wine, he closed his eyes and managed to drift off to sleep since the alcohol finally sipped in.

“Myungsoo-ah.”

Myungsoo turned around and found his favorite girl standing in the middle of grassland. She was looking so peaceful and happy in her new found place.

“Ri honey?” Myungsoo cooed and ran over to her, taking her in his embrace tightly.

“Honey. I’ve missed you. So much…”

“Oppa…” Rian smiled warmly and his back. “I’ve missed you too.”

They shared a short kiss and walked around the grassland hand in hand silently. They loved walking around in silence since they always managed to communicate with their hearts.

“Oppa. This is my last time meeting you here.”

Myungsoo stopped his tracks and widened his eyes. He turned to her and grabbed her hands tightly, so afraid of losing her. “Ri Honey. No…”

“No, oppa. You listen to me, okay? I have to go. I promise I will be happy in the other world, oppa.” She smiled and cupped his cheeks gently. “Oppa. You have to move on from me. Don’t think that you’re betraying me. I know you love me, and I love you too. But I just hope that a new girl will be replacing me, or even better, take your heart and shower you with love like how I did. I hope oppa will be able to move on. I want oppa to be happy.”

“But honey. How will I be able to be happy without you!?”

“Oppa. You have to think of Haewon as well. She needs a mommy to be with her and give her love. I want you and Haewon to be happy and find new love. Remember oppa, you’re not betraying me. Take it as a favor I asked you to do, can you do it?”

“But-” He stopped when he saw her pleading eyes.

“I know, honey. I will try, but it’s not a must. I will try, alright?”

Rian smiled and began to retreat her figure, leaving Myungsoo standing root on his tracks.

“Oppa, remember this. Sometimes, someone nearest to you is actually the one you’re looking for.”

Myungsoo woke up and shook his head slightly, “honey?”

He looked around the room and saw that it’s his own bedroom and not the green and beautiful grassland.

“It’s just a dream. Ri Honey really wants me to move on.”

He sighed and decided to prepare for his work, as usual.

Working in a huge company is hard for him. Moreover, he’s the top manager in his company which made jobs more difficult for him.

He entered the kitchen in his suit and saw breakfast done on the table.

His brow furrowed and looked into the kitchen.

“Oppa! You’re up!” Jiyeon, Rian’s sister, walked out from the kitchen with a cup of milk in her hand.

Placing down the cup on the table, she smiled brightly towards Myungsoo. “Oppa! Your breakfast is done.”

When she saw that Myungsoo was still standing there like a statue, she giggled and ran over to his back and pushed him down to sit by the dining table.

“Oppa! I’ve told you before right? I will be here to help you and Haewonie! Unnie is not here now. I know it’s painful for you so let me help, alright? I’m sure unnie will be happy. And, Haewonie is my niece. I loved to help her.” She smiled and pushed the plates to him. “Eat it up oppa! You have work to go. I will be responsible for Haewonie now!”

Myungsoo looked at her hopping figure moving towards Haewon’s room and back to his food. He sighed and picked up his spoon, “she doesn’t have to be so brave. I know she’s sad for Rian too…” And he began eating up the food she made.

Jiyeon was about 3 years younger than her sister, which made her 20 this year. And Myungsoo as well since Myungsoo and Rian was at the same age. Jiyeon was a total opposite from Rian. She’s bubbly, hyper, cool and cute while Rian was calm, serene, charismatic and beautiful.

They looked alike, even though their personalities were so much different. But it didn’t make them become enemy like most sisters are. This made them feel closer and attached to each other. When Jiyeon knew that Rian was about to get married, she was more excited and happy than Rian herself. She was happy for her sister as Rian finally found her happiness.

She knew who she would get married to but always had a slight hope in her that the groom would not be the one she’s thinking. And when she knew that the groom was really Myungsoo, she was more than devastated.

But she didn’t allow anyone to know that she’s sad. She had a crush on Myungsoo since high school. The three of them studied in the same school and Myungsoo and Rian automatically became a pair when they clicked so well and were the same age, in the same class. Basically, both are attached to each other. And being in a relationship for 5 years, they finally decided to settle down.

Jiyeon was really happy for them and decided to let her feelings kept hidden for the rest of her life. She was prepared to bring them to grave when she died and let no souls know about her secret. She felt wrong to like her own sister’s boyfriend and husband but she couldn’t help it. It’s what her heart did, not her mind: Falling in love with someone not for her.

However, when Rian suddenly passed away from a heart disease she fought for months, Jiyeon decided that she would be by Myungsoo’s side all this while until he’s able to bring up his own feet again.

As cliché as it seems, Jiyeon wouldn’t want to disclose her own feelings and hoped to keep it a secret for life. She didn’t want people to think that she’s someone who would steal her sister’s guy when her sister is not around any longer.

“Haewonie, say goodbye to your daddy~” Jiyeon sang while squatting down beside Haewon. “You see your daddy’s crooked tie?” She whispered into her ears and fixed her shirt.

Haewon nodded her head and grinned, “I got it, aunt!”

She went to his daddy’s side and asked him to squat down.

“Daddy. Haewon will fix your tie.” She giggled and fixed his crooked tie.

Myungsoo blinked in surprise at her sudden sweet gestures and looked at Jiyeon.

Jiyeon shrugged her shoulders but was smiling brightly at him. *Must be you, Jiyeonie.*

Myungsoo smiled in happiness and pecked his daughter’s head before bidding them goodbye and left for work.

“Now now now, Haewonie baby, what should we do?”

Haewon clapped her hands happily, “aunt! Can we draw? Pleaseeeeee?!”

“Awww… Haewonie doesn’t have to please, aunt will agree to anything you say!” She cooed and patted her little , “go get your drawing materials to the living room while your aunt clears the table.”

Haewon smiled brightly and ran off to her room to fetch the necessary stuff.

“Aunt look! This is daddy and this is Haewon and this is mommy!” She pointed to the three figures on the drawing paper.
