Pairing: Myungyeon, Junhyun/Hyomin

Plot: Myungsoo and Jiyeon are childhood friends, they're both rich and clever. One day, their parents arranged marriage to them but Myungsoo strongly against it because he doesn’t know that he love Jiyeon and he ran away from home. Jiyeon is very sad don't trust anyone except her brother, Junhyung and her best friend, Hyomin. Junhyung hate Myungsoo so much and a few years later, Myungsoo comeback after being dumped by his girlfriend. His girlfriend two-timed him and he also found out that he loves Jiyeon. But when he comeback, Jiyeon become a cold hearted girl and not the bubbly Jiyeon anymore.

Junhyung held onto Hyomin’s waist and looked at his sister with the gentlest eyes ever.

“She’s pretty isn’t she?”

Hyomin gasped and glared at him playfully, “Did you just say your sister is pretty?! What about me?!”

Junhyung shrugged his shoulders and squeezed her waist, “You know she’s my precious. You are too~ But she’s prettier than you.” He smirked playfully and continued staring at his sister who was playing with her childhood friend.

Hyomin shook her head in a defeated mode and looked at his sister as well. She sighed dramatically and placed her hand on top of his, which were on her waist, “she’s indeed prettier than me. Why must I love someone who loves his sister more than his girlfriend…?”

Junhyung knew at once that she’s joking with him with that tone of hers.  Hyomin knew how precious his sister was to him. She’s important to her too. She’s her best friend! And that’s how Hyomin got to know Junhyung.

“I hope they can take the news you guys are going to tell them tonight.” Hyomin smiled sadly and squeezed his arms lightly.

“I hope so too. Jiyeon will take it, she likes him since young. But I’m not sure about him.”

Hyomin nodded her head in approval, “I hope he likes her too. Then that’ll be a perfect ending.”

“I wonder what appa and omma have to tell us tonight… Your appa and omma will be meeting us too!” Jiyeon wondered out loud and asked her childhood friend for an answer but he simply shrugged it off, “I wonder too~”

“They’re meeting us at a high class hotel! You know the highest hotel in Seoul, Myungie?! We’re going to have our dinner there!! How cool is that~!!”

Myungsoo smiled warmly at her enthusiasm and placed his hands on her shoulders to stop her from moving any further.

“Just a reminder! You’re 19 this year!”

Jiyeon pouted and looked down sadly, “What’s wrong with me? I act like a 19 year old okay?!”

Myungsoo laughed out loud and leaned his whole body on the couch, losing his energy due to laughing loudly, “YOU?! HAHAHAHA!!!”

“MYUNGIE!” Jiyeon was super red now. Blood rushed up to her face quickly when she saw him laughing at her behavior. “I’M 19! AND I ACT LIKE ONE!”

Myungsoo wiped off his dropping tears and sat straight up again, “you definitely are not acting like one.”

“Then how does a 19-year-old act like?! As if you know! You’re like me too!”

Myungsoo pushed her forehead with his index finger and giggled lightly, “I’m matured already.”

“No you’re not. You’re always teasing me and laughing at me.” Jiyeon pouted sadly and pushed his hand away.

“Let’s not get angry now, my friend~ you have to get ready soon. It’s almost 6.”

Jiyeon bit her lips and looked down sadly. *Friends… I’m always your friend only.*

“Why are you frowning?” Myungsoo raised a brow and pressed her temple to remove her frown which he did it successfully.

“I’m going to change now! Wait for me here!” She forced herself to smile brightly and ran back to her room.

“OPPA! HYOMIN UNNIE! GET READY TOO!” She screamed into the house before closing her door which earned a chuckle from Myungsoo, “She never changes at all.”

“Oppa! Why are we here? You know right? Why can’t you tell me now?!” Jiyeon pulled onto Junhyung’s sleeves and showed him her puppy eyes.

Junhyung wrapped her arms around his own and walked into the hotel suavely, “you will know later anyway, and you’ll like it, trust me.” He gave her a wink and guided her all the way to the top floor where the restaurant was.

“Myungie! Come here! Sit with me!” She sat down opposite her parents and hollered Myungsoo over to her side. “I’ve saved this seat for you!”

Myungsoo laughed at her childish side again and sat down on the seat she saved, “there. I’m here now.”

Junhyung pouted and looked at Jiyeon sadly, “there where does oppa sit?”

“Oppa has to sit with Hyomin unnie! Over here!” She pointed to the two empty seats on the other side of her and smiled brightly at them, “Come here oppa, unnie!”

And the couple walked over obediently. Nobody can reject her cute offer anyway.

“Appa, Omma! Why are we here? We can eat at home! But I like it here too~” Jiyeon began to blabber which made the parents chuckled, “we’ll eat first okay?”

“OKAY!”

“Nom nom~” Jiyeon was finishing her dessert and finally took in her last mouth. “Finished! Now let’s talkkkkkkk~”

Myungsoo giggled and wiped her lips since there’s still bits of dessert on it which made her blushed madly.

Their parents were cooing at them and of course, Junhyung and Hyomin smiled brightly at his actions. They thought he might like the idea they were about to discuss.

“So…? Appa, omma! Kim Abeonim, Kim Omonim! Tell us quick! I’m dying of curiosity already!”

Her mother giggled and wiped graciously, “Jiyeon-ah. You’re old enough already. So…”

She stopped them and continued laughing to herself, too happy for her daughter.

But that made Jiyeon frowned deeper, “Omma! Continue~ Why did you stop there?!”

Myungsoo nodded his head in agreement and looked at his parents, “Omma! Tell us!”

“You two are getting old, so we wanted to get you two married to each other!” She announced in one shot and cheered loudly with Jiyeon’s mom.

Myungsoo widened his eyes at the news at looked at his parents, he’s dumbfounded, “What?! MARRIAGE?! Is this some kind of those arranged marriage or something?!”

“That’s right, Myungsoo-ah! Don’t you like it? Jiyeon is cute and lovable!” His mom replied quickly and laughed again alongside Jiyeon’s mom.

Jiyeon blushed and bit her lips shyly, “Omma… I’m only 19…”

Myungsoo looked at her red cheeks and frowned, *Did she… No… We’re friends right? We’re like sister and brother! We’re like siblings! Siblings can’t get married!*

“It’s old enough already! So it’s settled, okay?” Jiyeon’s mom replied her and continued her discussion with Mrs. Kim, and also the two daddies.

Myungsoo rolled his eyes at the adults and stood up forcefully. He pushed his chair back loudly when he stood up to get their attention and it did.

“She’s just like my sister and I’m not going to marry her. Even if she likes me, it must be a brother-and-sister like. We can’t be together.” He spat and dashed out of the restaurant at once.

Jiyeon’s jaw was widely opened and tears brimmed around her eyes, “What…?”

Junhyung gasped when he saw her sister at such a state. *Did that bastard just reject my sister?!*

He wrapped his arms around her shoulders and placed her head on his chest, “don’t cry. Let’s go home, okay?”

Jiyeon sobbed into his chest but she nodded her head as a reply, “I want to go home…”

“Let’s go.”

Junhyung nodded towards his parents to show them he’s leaving and Hyomin helped him to get her into the car safely.

*That bastard…*

It’s already 1AM and Jiyeon’s sobs could still be heard from her room.

Her parents were fast asleep, leaving Junhyung in the living room, alone. Listening to her wails simply break his heart even further.

He sighed deeply and finally decided to enter her room and calm her down.

“Jiyeon?” Junhyung opened the door without knocking and entered quickly. She’s sitting on the bed, leaning her back against the headrest with her legs against her chest and her head was buried into her knees.

She looked up at his call with her teary face and turned around, not wanting anybody to see her crying face.

But being her brother, he knew he has to do more than that.

“Jiyeon-ah.” He approached her quickly with only three big steps. Sitting down by her side, he wrapped his arms around her soon after to comfort her, “Let me take a look at you, eo? Come on, don’t cry now. He’s not worth it.”

Jiyeon hiccupped and wrapped her arms around his waist tightly, “Oppa…”

“Now now, our Jiyeon is brave right? She won’t cry over such small things.” He patted her shoulders lightly with one hand and used to other to her hair.

Jiyeon squeezed his waist tighter and sobbed louder, “I didn’t know he would reject me like that! I like him, oppa! I like him since long ago!”

“I know… Oppa knows…” Junhyung sighed and hugged her tighter, “Fine. Cry tonight and get it over, alright? We have to face it. Myungsoo only likes you as a sister. It’s okay, you will find someone even better, okay?”

Jiyeon cried even louder when she heard that and Junhyung could only pat her shoulders now and then to comfort her.

She doesn’t know how she can get over a 12 years crush but she will do it. After that day when she cried her heart out, she promised herself to get over him and find someone even better.

But deep down in her heart, she knew nobody would fit her perfectly like him and she knew no matter how hard she will try to forget him, it would fail miserably.

On the other hand, he was nowhere to be found.

When his parents got home, he was no longer in the house and some of his clothes were gone.

His mom broke down and cried on his bed, reading the letter he left a few hours ago over and over again.

He told his mom and dad to take care of themselves, and he apologized for running away. He doesn’t want to get married so early and he doesn’t want to marry a person who he deemed as his sister.

Thus, he left a letter and ran away, leaving his family, his memories, and his childhood friend all behind, in Seoul.

It’s been a year, and Myungsoo still couldn’t be found.

“Just forget it, yeobo. He will come back if he wants to.” Mr. Kim sighed and persuaded his wife to stop looking for him, “It’s no use, yeobo.”

Mrs. Kim said down beside her husband and shook her head sadly, “is it our fault to ask them to get married? We just want a perfect family for him and Jiyeon’s definitely the right girl. Why doesn’t he like her?”

Mr. Kim patted her shoulders and squeezed it lightly, “It’s over, yeobo. Don’t think about it anymore, let’s get some rest.”

Mrs. Kim then decided to follow her husband back to their room, giving up on looking for his son any longer.
