“Baby, would you please marry me?”

Jiyeon cried.

She looked at the ring in his hand, looked at his sincere eyes, and back to the ring. “Yes, oppa! YES! YES! YES!”

He wore the ring into her fourth finger and hugged her tightly.

Everyone in the restaurant cheered for them.

That night, they walked around the neighbourhood, not feeling the need to head home yet. “Why did you propose, oppa?”

“What kind of questions is that?!”

“I just wanted to know why~”

“Because I want to live with you forever.”

Jiyeon blushed with a wide grin on her face. “Thank you, oppa. But…”

“Don’t worry.” Myungsoo assured with a sweet smile, “I’m over my parents. They have their lives and I have mind. I won’t follow my dad’s footsteps and married for five times. I only need you.”

You see, Myungsoo has a little trauma about marriage, thanks to his father.

He lived with his mother and she constantly told him not to worry about it since their lives were different.

Jiyeon knew about his trauma, of course. She was worried too, but she stayed with him no matter what.

They were high school lovers.

Years passed, and they even joined the same company to work together.

Everything was being planned out nicely, and all she had to do was to walk down the aisle to her man she trusted so much.

Jiyeon returned to the bride’s room, got changed, and returned home after bidding goodbye to the adults and guests.

She remained calm instead.

She didn’t make a scene and embarrassed the Kims, which they felt so grateful for it.

She walked into the church, down the aisle, as she stared at the cross sadly. “Did I do something wrong in my past life? Why did something like this happen to me?”

Her legs gave up on her, and she fell onto the ground, crying her heart out.

It was so sad.

The priest saw it, but he didn’t make a sound. He knew she would love to be alone at that moment. Instead, he watched by the side and prayed for her.

“I’m going now.” Jiyeon shook her head, took an apple and walked out of the house. She hopped into her car, on the engine, and drove off to her office.

She still worked at the same company, although Myungsoo was gone.

Nobody knew where he went, not even his closest friends.

No one.

Jiyeon didn’t bother to check too.

From that fateful day on, she was determined. She wouldn’t fall in love again, and she wouldn’t bother about the man named Kim Myungsoo any longer.
