Hongbin, Jiyeon, N

Hongbin, Jiyeon, and Hakyeon were best friends. They're inseparable in fact. But it all changed when they fell in love. Hakyeon and Hongbin both fell for Jiyeon while Jiyeon was still confused. She didn't want to ruin the friendship between them, but she did feel attracted towards Hongbin. One day, Hongbin and Jiyeon got into a fight (they’re not dating though xD) and Hongbin got into an accident. N was the one who accompanied her the whole time and it made him realize that he has no chance in winning Jiyeon's heart, therefore he moved to the states to study and soon fell in love with another woman there.

“Let’s be friends forever, okay?”

“Okay!”

“I’m in too!”

The three kids smiled at each other as they had their little pinkie finger linked together.

“AHHH~ OPPA!”

The two guys turned around at once, “WHAT?”

Jiyeon giggled happily and pushed them both into the pool again.

Hongbin and Hakyeon dropped into the pool with a loud splash, and that earned a sweet giggle from the girl.

The two guys surfaced from under the water, and looked at each other at once – as if sending signals through telepathy.

Almost immediately, the duo rushed to the edge of the pool and pulled the girl down with them.

Jiyeon struggled up and finally breathed again, before sending glares to the duo. “OPPA!”

“You started it~” Hakyeon giggled before splashing her some water, in which Hongbin did the same.

“AHHH~ STOP! OPPA~~~” Jiyeon whined, “I’VE GOT WATER IN MY EYES!”

They stopped at once and hurried over to her side. “Where is it? Let me see!”

“Does it hurt?!”

Jiyeon smirked in victory and splashed them water instead.

The duo was surprised that she tricked them, and started another water war.

Well, that was how they were.

Ever since young, they were best of friends and they promised to be best friends forever.

To fulfil their dream, they entered the same school every year, and even got into the same course during university.

Yup, all three of them were majoring in business.

They went to school together and often made sure they had time together.

However, they have no idea that the normal routine of theirs was about to stop.

One day, when the school was over, Jiyeon waited for the duo at the front of the entrance since the duo said they had to pass something to the teachers.

She waited and waited and waited.

And they finally arrived.

But only to find those two quite unusual.

“What’s wrong, oppa?”

“Nothing.” Hakyeon replied.

Jiyeon pouted and turned to Hongbin. “Oppa~” She tugged his sleeves, but he didn’t even respond. “What’s wrong with the both of you?”

“Nothing’s wrong.” Hongbin finally replied, shutting her up since his tone was quite fierce.

“Fine then.” Jiyeon sighed and walked ahead.

Maybe something had happened between them, but she figured they will solve it out themselves. But no.

It didn’t happen.

Instead, the cold war between the two guys went on for the whole week.

Jiyeon had enough.

She called the duo out that weekend, to their usual hangout place and made them sit next to each other.

“Tell me what’s wrong.”

“Nothing’s wrong.”

“Hongbin oppa. I have eyes and I can see there’s something on between the two of you.”

Hongbin sighed and lowered his head.

Hakyeon was silent too.

“If you both aren’t talking, we can sit here the whole day.”

Hakyeon finally spoke. “I like you.”

Jiyeon widened her eyes and looked at Hakyeon, “E-Eh?!”

“Hongbin apparently like you too.”

Jiyeon turned to Hongbin, and he made no signs of disagreement. “W-What... do you mean... like me...?”

“We both like you, Jiyeon.” Hongbin whispered. “That day, I found out Hakyeon like you too, by chance. I saw his book full of your name and I confronted him about it.”

“I admitted, and he admitted too.”

Jiyeon sighed, “And you both got into a cold war because of me?”

They kept silent instead.

“I don’t want the both of you to turn your back against each other.” Jiyeon whispered sadly, “Please don’t fight because of me.”

They were still silent.

“If you both are going to be like this, I’ll just disappear.”

“NO!”

“Then make up and let’s be friends again.” Jiyeon cooed, “I have no feelings for either of you so let’s be friends, shall we? We promised to be best friends forever.”

The two guys sighed.

“I’m sorry, oppa. I really want to be friends with you both forever.”

“I know.” Hakyeon smiled sweetly at her before turning to Hongbin, “Let bygones be bygones?”

Hongbin looked at his hand, back to Jiyeon, and back to Hakyeon, before taking the hand to shake it. “Let bygones be bygones.”

The three of them were back to normal again.

But what they didn’t know was that each of them was hurting inside.

Hongbin seriously liked Jiyeon, and Hakyeon really liked Jiyeon too.

And well, Jiyeon liked one of them but to salvage their friendship, she can’t confess. She can’t break their friendship apart.

It had been a month since that incident, and all of them seemed to be doing well.

They were normal again.

The three friends were happy again.

Well, at least they got to be with each other often too.

Jiyeon pretended everything was normal, and everything was fine.

But she wasn’t.

Jiyeon kept the diary into her drawer and sighed for the nth times that day. “Hongbin oppa...”

Right on the dot, her phone rang.

“Eo?” She picked it up at once, “Hongbin oppa?”

“Yeon...”

“Yeah?”

“I’m outside your house.”

“You are?” Jiyeon shifted down from her bed in a hurry and rushed down the stairs at once. “Where are you going, baby girl?”

“I’ll be right outside, omma!”

And she was gone.

Jiyeon wore her slippers and ran to the side gate.

Indeed, he was there.

“Hongbin oppa!” Jiyeon rushed to his side when she realized he was swaying. “Are you drunk?”

“Yeon...”

“Oppa, what happened to you?”

“Yeon-ah...”
