Grabbing his phone, Taehyung had only one person in mind to call. He pressed on this particular name, before shifting his eyes back on the photos over his bed.

“Hey.” The person on the other line answer. But from the tone of the voice, he knew that something was wrong. He frowned, picking up one of the photos.

“Hey, what’s up?”

“Working.” Taehyung looked up at the clock hung over the wall. It was clicking half past five.

“What’s wrong? You normally close your shop at three.”

“I arrived late, need to make it up for the lost time.” A sigh skipped the person on the other line and Taehyung couldn’t help but to ask.

Could these photos to create a problem between them?

“Things didn’t work out with Hyung?”

“Hmmm…” You hummed, before letting out another sigh. “You could say that I was dumped for real. He left the apartment this morning.”

“What?”

“Don’t worry about it. I can handle this.” From the way you chuckled, Taehyung knew you were at the peak of crying. “Taehyung, I don’t want to talk about this. I have work, let’s talk later, okay?”

“Want me to come over.”

“No. I need to be alone. I need to have a little time to think.”

Clenching his fist, the photo in his hands crumbled. “As you like.”

“Thank you, bestie.”

He smiled at the way you called him, bestie. It had been a while since you called him like that reminding him of the old days.

“Take care, bestie. Love you.”

“Me too.”

After he ended the call and without thinking, Taehyung grabbed the photos and his jacket and ran out of the dorm. He was supposed to go to practice room in a couple of hours, but now he needed to go somewhere else.

“Taehyung, where are you going?” His manager asked, eyes alert.

“I’m sorry, Hyung.” Without even looking at him, he made his way out.

His brother must have gone crazy. Was it really the end between you and him? Because of some photos he should know that they weren’t true. He couldn’t believe that Baekhyun would really be affected by them.

Baekhyun shouldn’t have left the apartment

One year ago…

“Have you listened to this song?” Baekhyun said, handing you his earphone so you could listen to it.

“What song?” You took the earphone and put in your ears, a flush smeared over your cheeks as Baekhyun leant in showing you the name of the song.

On the opposite side of the table, there were two pairs of hawk eyes, eyeing you carefully. Having the straw in his mouth, sipping his soft drink slowly, Taehyung wondered when did the two of you got close to the point of sharing the earphone. It seemed like the two of you forgot about his presence.

Clearing his throat, Taehyung straightened his back, playing with the straw, steering the ice cube. “Do I miss something?”

“Huh?” You and Baekhyun asked, dumbfounded.

“You two…” He pointed to and fro at you and Baek. The action made your cheeks flushed and you looked down at your lap. Taehyung’s mouth fell open when he noticed the weird look on your face as if the cat got your tongue. “What’s going on?”

Baekhyun smiled, his hand reached for you under the table. He looked at you and you turned to meet his eyes and nodded. Pulling your hand with his own from under the table, Baekhyun looked at his brother, the smile over his face warmed up, it almost freaked Taehyung.

“What? What? What?” Taehyung’s eyes widened, taken back. His brother and his best friend were holding hands. Wait, they were intertwining fingers, like cou---

“We are dating.” You said, before Baekhyun could say it. Excited to tell your best friend.

“YOU TRAITORS.” Taehyung snapped, pointing again at the two of you. “When? How? You never told me.” He narrowed his eyes at you.

Considering being your best friend forever, you should have told him about this first. Especially when the person you were dating his older brother.

Actually, Taehyung knew it.

He knew about your feelings for his brother. Since the day he introduced you to him, you never stopped asking about Baekhyun.

For Baekhyun, he also figured that he would have developed feelings for you as it was the first time he saw his brother look at a girl like this.

At that moment, Taehyung realized that his love was found nowhere here. His love that he kept to himself for years, so he wouldn’t destroy his friendship with you.

And here, he realized that he was going to act happy for the new couple in front of him and step on his heart, hard for his brother and best friend's happiness.

“We were going to tell you today.” Baekhyun said, squeezing your hands.

“It had been a few days.” You said, shyly. “I asked Baekhyun out and he agreed to go out with me.”

He nodded, before smiling at you.

Relaxing his face muscles a little, Taehyung put his best fake smile as he clasped his hands. “Congrats. Now we are family.” He winked at you, but you kicked his legs under the table making him wince in pain. “What?”

“Stop teasing us.”

“I’m not forgiving you for not telling me.”

“Tae~” You whined cutely.

He scoffed, shrugging his shoulder as he put his nose up. A sign that he was still angry. “Whatever. Don’t talk to me for like 2 days.”

“2 days? That’s so long.” You pouted. “You are my best friend, Tae~”

“Glad you know that and still didn’t tell me.” Sticking his tongue out, Taehyung had already forgiven you. He just liked to tease you. He loved it when you act cute, while your face was red with frustration.

Sitting next to you, Baekhyun watched you and Taehyung as you played around with each other. A small smile over his face, finding the both of you so cute, but there was this tight feeling in his heart.

There was something that bothered him and made him feel uncomfortable. He was concerned about his brother's feelings and couldn’t do anything about it.

I love her, Taehyung. Please understand.

Staring at the white walls of his dorm, Baekhyun couldn’t help but think of you. Every moment you spent together, the day he announced that he was dating you to his brother, Taehyung.

The time he promised you to take you out, but failed to keep his promise.
