MISSING

Kyungsoo walked slowly back to his bed and then went in to only stare at the ceiling. He replayed the events that just took place a moment ago over and over in his head. The constant warnings that has been emerging lately has gotten everyone on edge. It seemed like there was no way to tell whether or not these next few weeks will be a happy one. It seems to Kyungsoo that dramatic changes will happen that will not only alter Baekhyun’s life, but also Jongin’s and Kyungsoo’s. The boy turned his head to his sleeping boyfriend and wondered what would happen to the boy he loved so much in the coming weeks. 

There has to be more to Jongdae’s message than just to be careful… Am I supposed to take action of some sort? But what can I do? I’m just a high school student.

The guilt and worry was eating Kyungsoo up alive and he couldn't help, but felt as if though he was obligated to rush to the hospital. As he laid there, he could feel his heart beating faster and faster as these imaginary thoughts rushed through his mind and consumed the positive thoughts. There were no more positive thoughts keeping Kyungsoo calm. Then, without anymore thought, he got up to change his clothes and exit the house. Kyungsoo made his way down to the hospital in the half hour that it took. The elevator lift seemed to take forever, but finally the elevator ringed and he was on the floor he wanted to be on. The lights were bright in the hallways, unlike the ones in his house at the hour. As he headed towards Chanyeol’s room, he saw a familiar figure sitting outside the room rather than being inside where he was when Kyungsoo last saw him.

Jongin stretched and yawned as the sunlight broke into the room and tickled his eyelids. He blocked the light and then searched for cover from the sun. As he turned around, there was something missing that should be there on the bed next to him. Rather than something, it was clear that it was a someone. Jongin took the blankets off the bed and then looked in confusion for his boyfriend. Observing the room, he spotted the boy’s phone which could mean that he’s still in the house. After making the bed, it was time to scout the house for the missing boy. The search seemed futile, as there was no successful spotting of Kyungsoo. 

Where could he be…?

Jongin gave Baekhyun a call and then no one picked up. He wondered where Kyungsoo would’ve gone without telling him. It was strange for the boy to wander off alone and not tell anyone. Jongin thought the best place to go was the hospital. It had been about four hours since Kyungsoo left the house. But no one is really counting hours anymore, they don’t want to.

“Yah, Baek, why’re you out here?” Baekhyun looked up at Kyungsoo as he came to a stop. He shook his head and wiped the tears that would fall from his face. Kyungsoo’s eyes grew and then he fell in the chair next to Baekhyun. He hugged his best friend and then tried to keep the tears in his eyes. He remembered thinking back to when Baekhyun told him to be strong for him. Kyungsoo then always made it his mission to be strong for his best friend, his little brother that he loved so much. 

“He’s not gone… His blood level… It’s dropped to dangerous zones and the doctors quickly rushed him out. I was just as shocked as he was and…”

“It’s alright.” Kyungsoo felt Baekhyun’s shaking and hushed the little boy. If he didn’t want to finish, he didn’t have to. It would be like opening up the wound all over again. Kyungsoo looked around at all the other closed doors and wonder what they’re going through. He wondered if anyone else had it as hard as Baekhyun, or wondering if they’re having it worse. “Just tell me whenever you feel most comfortable telling me, alright?” Baekhyun nodded his head and began getting up. He wiped away his tears and just sniffled. The two sat in silence for the remainder of the time they were together. Kyungsoo was thinking of many things from Jongdae to this to Jongin. However, there was more going on in Baekhyun’s head. He remembered the event with Chanyeol very clearly since it only happened just about an hour ago.

The doctors rushed in the monitor beeped loudly. It’s high frequency blurring out the rest of the noise as Baekhyun woke up from his sleep. He looked around confused as the doctors quickly disconnected Chanyeol’s wires and then other doctors went around to help Baekhyun up from his spot. 

“What’s going on?” No one replied to Baekhyun. His eyes starting to well with tears and he tried fighting their grasp. He pulled to have his arms back, but it all failed. He began screaming Chanyeol’s name and only to see him being pulled away. Baekhyun could see the look Chanyeol gave him one last time before he disappeared into the hallway. Baekhyun screamed and nothing could help him get rid of the feeling of being so helpless. At the time, he felt completely useless and helpless. How could he just stand there and watch as Chanyeol go? What if it was the last time he would see Chanyeol’s eyes? As Chanyeol was wheeled away, Baekhyun could feel the pain in his chest grow stronger and stronger. Will this be the last time he will ever Chanyeol’s face with life behind it? He didn’t want this to be the end.

Jongin reached the two boys and nothing had really changed. They were still sitting as they were a few hours ago. He handed Kyungsoo his phone and Kyungsoo thanked him. 

“Sorry about not telling you I left earlier, I was in a rush…” Jongin nodded and smiled as he took a seat next to Kyungsoo. Baekhyun then turned his head and then furrowed his eyebrows. 

“How did you know that something had happend to Chanyeol?”
