You giggled and slowly walked on the flat cement of the zoo. To your left was a large family gawking at the lions that happen to be

rubbing their faces against the glass like any normal house cat. This caused many children to cheer and release joyous giggles. To you right was a field that held many resting elephants and a baby one at play. The young mammal was doing its best to toss around a tire. The spectacle had caught not only your attention but that of your boyfriends. Which takes you back to why you were giggling. He was being such a child as he ran around making a ruckus and jumping up and down at any animal he saw.

 

 

“It’s more like babysitting than a date.” You chuckled.

 

 

A little girl came up to you as you watched Taehyung play with a little boy, “Excuse me lady!” She pulled on the hem of your shirt.

 

 

You bent down and smiled at her, “Yes sweetie?”

 

 

“Is that your friend?” She pointed at Taehyung.

 

 

“Yes, that’s my boyfriend.” You smiled, feeling proud to be able to say that word.

 

 

Her cheeks pinked and she bit her bottom lip, “Oh, could you help me get one?” 

 

 

Huh?

 

 

“Hm? What do you mean darling?”

 

 

“I want a boyfriend like yours!” She gave you a toothy smile.

 

 

This took you by surprise and you chuckled, “Well who do you have in mind? Do you like anyone?”

 

 

At that she covered her cheeks with her hands, “Yeah, his name is Minsoo, he’s playing with your boyfriend miss.”

 

 

You looked over and saw the two boys at play, a small smile coming to your lips, “Well how about- Wait, sweetie I never got your name, I’m _____, you are?” You held out your hand for a shake.

 

 

“Oh! I’m Eve.” She smiled happily.

 

 

“Nice to meet you Eve.”

 

 

“Nice to meet your too Unnie!” She cheered.

 

 

The two of you walked side by side and chatted, talking about the zoo and the boys that were running around and playing in front of you. You found out that Minsoo is Eve’s neighbor and she’s had a crush on him for a while. They were both 9. 

 

 

As you kept walking you realized that Eve was becoming tired from walking. This caused you to playfully lift her onto your shoulders, carrying her on your back. Eve giggled and pointed things out like you were her mother and she was so excited to be with you and to have you see everything that she did. You had been with this sweet girl for about 1 hour before the thought of where her real mother might be crossed your mind.

 

 

“Hey Eve…” You asked her as you stood in front of an owl cage.

 

 

“Yes Unnie?” She asked delicately. 

 

 

“I don’t want to worry your mother, where is she?” You asked and you missed the sadness that crossed Eve’s eyes.

 

 

“Well… Momma and Daddy died a year ago.” She mumbled.

 

 

You felt your throat sting and your eyes water, Eve lost her family so young.

 

 

“Then who are you here with?” You asked, trying to stay strong in front of the little girl.

 

 

“Minsoo.” She pointed back to the boy.

 

 

“Anyone else?” You asked.

 

 

“Nope! The home let us go out today because Minsoo saved up money.” She giggled happily.

 

 

“The home?”

 

 

“Yeah! I live in the age nine room! Minsoo lives in the room next door with the nine year old boys!” She smiled proudly to the small boy.

 

 

This broke your heart. She lived in an orphanage. The feeling to adopt her bloomed in your heart but you had no right to adopt a little girl and not tell your mother. While she balanced on your shoulders you pulled out a note and pen.

 

 

“Eve, this is my phone number, call me whenever you can ok? I’ll come visit you.” You giggled and gave her the paper.

 

 

“Really Unnie!” She asked in high hopes.

 

 

“Of course!” You kissed her little knee that right next your face.

 

 

She let out the sweetest of giggle that made you feel bubbles in your stomach.

 

 

Meanwhile with Taehyung…

 

Minsoo stomped around Taehyung’s feet, the only support being his hand that grasped Taehyungs tightly. His giggles filled the air and Taehyung, even though he was watching the little boy closely, kept his eyes glued to you and the little girl on your shoulders. 

 

 

“So Minsoo-ah…” He started.

 

 

“Yes hyung?” The little boy cooed and jumped around.

 

 

“Is that little girl your girlfriend?” He asked, wondering if love could start so young.

 

 

If love really could begin at such a young age, he wanted to have met you sooner because he could guarantee that he would’ve loved you longer and forever. 

 

 

The little boy’s cheeks grew a fierce red, “E-Eve?”

 

 

“Is that her name?” Taehyung smiled, “Wah… So pretty.”

 

 

“Hyung!” Minsoo whined.

 

 

“Hm?”

 

 

“Don’t call her pretty!”

 

 

“Hm? Why not?” Taehyung teased, “She’s cute.”

 

 

“Don’t call her that hyung!”

 

 

“Why not?”

 

 

“B-Because!” Minsoo’s face was so red that Taehyung couldn’t help but laugh.

 

 

“You like her don’t you?” He smirked.

 

 

“Y-Y-Yes…”

 

 

Taehyung smiled, “You want to know something?”

 

 

Minsoo got closer as if the older boy was going to give him the worlds secrets, “What?”

 

 

“You see that girl that has Eve on her shoulders?” He whispers as he points at you.

 

 

He couldn’t help but admire the smile that graced your lips while you talked to the little girl and laughed with her while the two of you watched the animals prancing along your sides.

 

 

“Yeah, who is she hyung?”

 

 

“That’s my girlfriend.” Taehyung felt immense pride to be able to say that.

 

 

“What? No way. That lady is too pretty for you hyung.” Minsoo shook his head in disbelief.

 

 

“Isn’t she though… Wait- Hey!” Taehyung groaned.

 

 

“Hyung if she really is your girlfriend then you can kiss her, right?” Minsoo smirked.

 

 

Taehyung reddened, “Y-Yeah, all the time.”

 

 

His throat tightened and his lips became dry at the thought of pressing a gentle kiss on your lips. Not knowing of the conversation the two boys were exchanging you came hopping up to them. Eve smiled and waved.

 

 

“Hey, you guys hungry?” You asked, trying to ignore the hungry and pink stare Taehyung was giving you.

 

 

“Yes ma’am!” Minsoo smiled broadly. 

 

 

“What would you like to eat?” You smiled at the young boy.

 

 

“W-What would you like E-Eve?” Minsoo asked, his cheeks bright.

 

 

“Ummm… How about a hotdog?” She asked timidly.

 

 

“Yes please!” Minsoo and Taehyung both yelled.

 

 

You laughed while the two males sent each other matching glares. You took the three children to a food stand with benches and you ordered Eve and Minsoo each hotdogs. Taehyung got pretzel bites with cheese, and you ordered a churro. As the four of you ate under the shade of a bench umbrella Taehyung and Minsoo kept sending each other glances that made you glare at Taehyung. 

 

 

“What’s going on?” You whispered.

 

 

Taehyung glanced at Minsoo one more time, “Nothing.”

 

 

You sighed and took another bite of your churro as you looked back at Eve with a smile. The sugar from the churro still sat on your lips.

 

 

“Ok Minsoo, this is how you do it, Eve you watch too.” Taehyung cleared his throat. 

 

 

Before you could clean up your lips you glanced at him in confusion. When your eyes met his you were frozen because not only did your eyes meet but so did your lips. His hand went to the side of your face and gave a gentle reassurance to stay there. You were frozen as you felt the warmth of his soft lips touch your sugary ones. It was like nothing before. It was like a way to say that this love would last. The one thing you were saving had been taken and you couldn’t be any happier. You had given your first kiss to him. That one time when he called you to the roof to ask you about Tao he had declared that he was so happy he could just kiss you. Now he had and you were just so happy you could kiss him all over again. 

 

 

When he pulled away your lips seemed to be stuck to his and when you looked to his lips you saw some of the churro sugar stuck to his moist bottom lip. Your stomach bubbled and you felt like you were so embarrassed. 

 

 

“Hm! Churro sugar is really yummy! Thanks for sharing!” He winked at you and it was like a headshot. 

 

 

Your mind went blank and you could’ve just died. Eve stared at you in shock and Minsoo was gaping like a goldfish. You looked away and finished your churro before standing up and buying a water. You were thirsty, but more so for Taehyung’s kisses.

 

 

You both walked the children home and said goodbye with a sad hug. You made sure they had your number and right before you left you made sure to write down “The Home”’s number in your phone for the future. Thinking it over you decided you were going to have a serious chat with your cousins. But for now you focused on your hand that was linked with Taehyungs as he walked you home before he had to run to work. Before running into your house you gave him a swift peck on the lips before locking the door behind you.
