A/N: You know... January of two years ago, I wrote a Taeyeon point-of-view prequel for this. It's just some kind of a short chap about how he and Jessica met. I was actually planning for a spin-off something which revolves around the YoonSicTae triangle, particularly on the before-events of RS, in other words, before Tiffany arrived. But, yeah... I got busy so uhhmmm... I don't wanna leave it hanging as well so.... lol. sorry for such a random fact.

Yuri POV

*Saturday-morning-12th-of-November-2016*

"Jessica."

"..."

"Jessica."

"..."

I sighed and called again, "Jessica."

"..."

"Yah. Jessica!"

She stopped from eating and shot me a glare. She finally responded, "What?"

"Why are you being like this?"

"I am always like this, Mister Kwon." She went back to eating her breakfast.

"Always? No, no. You're giving me cold shoulders since Monday. You're never like this to me before."

"I am always cold, Mister Kwon."

"Stop calling me Mister Kwon!" I shouted which had caught the attention of all the other customers inside the restaurant of the hotel we're currently staying at.

I sighed again, "Can't you just tell me why you're like this to me? Did I do something wrong?"

"There's nothing to talk about."

"Is this about me talking to my ex-girlfriend? It's just purely business, okay."

"It's not about that."

"Are you jealous?"

"I said it's not about that!" she shouted back which earned the attention again of the other customers.

I then uttered softly, "Then, what?"

"..."

"Jessica, please... It's been six days and you're not even talking to me."

"As far as I am concerned, I'm not depriving you of . We still do it every night. So, what the hell do you want from me?"

"Yeah, right. Just purely . You're not even uttering a word. You don't even answer when I try to talk to you. What the hell was that?"

"Well, at least be thankful I'm still having with you."

I closed my eyes and massaged both of my temples. I sighed deeply as I looked back to her. "Please, just tell me why you're treating me like this."

"Fine. Why on Earth you did not explain to Tiffany what really happened back then?"

"We were in the middle of a business negotiation, Sica. It's not like I can just open up such topic."

"I heard from Taeyeon that Tiffany asked you about it after the meeting, Yuri. What did you say to her?"

"I thought you already talked with Stephanie the other day."

"Yeah, but I want to hear it from you directly!"

"..."

"What did you freaking say to her?!"

"Yah. Don't shout, okay. You're calling the attention of everyone."

"Then, just ing give me a straight answer."

I sighed again and avoided her gaze, "Alright. I told her... it's not any of her business if I was alive."

"What the actual ?! Why did you tell her that?!"

From the entrance of the restaurant, Taeyeon walked briskly towards us and uttered softly, "You two are being too loud. You're causing a disturbance in the restaurant. I can even hear you both outside." Before we could even respond, he halted us and snapped, "Don't talk. Just stop whatever you two are bickering about. I already talked to the manager of this restaurant and told him not to accept customers anymore. I already reserved the whole place. Wait for the current customers to finish first then continue your stupid fight."

She looked at him in disbelief, "So, you freaking wasted money for reservation? You know, we can just leave this place and bicker outside instead."

"Well, it's not me who wanted this place reserved. It's Hyoyeon. She already told Sooyoung about this being alive and she wanted her boyfriend pacified with food during the confrontation."

I butted in, "Stop calling me an . I am your boss, Taeyeon. At least show me some respect."

"Dude. You can't just stop me. Well, yeah, you're my boss. You sure can fire me. But, you know what? Tiffany wants to pirate me so, feel free to do so."

"Then, resign you midget. You think I give a damn about you?"

"Why you---?!"

He was about to tackle me when Jessica stood up and stopped him. "Enough, both of you. You sit down, Taeyeon." He complied and sat on one of the free chairs. She sat again then looked at me, "You can't blame Taeyeon from calling you an because you're really being like one, Yuri."

"Yeah, right. Take your ex-boyfriend's side. I'm nothing but your fiancé, anyway."

She sighed loudly, "Let's just stop this nonsense, okay. We'll talk later once this place is all cleared up."

We waited for almost an hour before the restaurant was completely cleared out. Afterwards, the manager immediately closed the door of the restaurant. Taeyeon then situated himself away from me and Jessica and just busied himself over browsing his phone.

Jessica then started, "So, why did you tell Tiffany that?"

"..."

"Yuri. We already talked before that you're going to explain yourself to her completely and honestly. Why did you act like a jerk on her?"

"I did that for her to put a stop completely on her relationship with me. I don't want her to be concerned about me, anymore, okay. That's why I decided to be rude to her. I don't want any more complications on our engagement."

"And what makes you think that becoming nice to her will jeopardize our relationship, huh?"

"And what makes you think it will not?"

"Don't try to slap back my question on me."

I sighed, "We both know Stephanie so well. If she finds out the accident was true and I suffered from comatose for almost a year, she'll just pity me. It will be a lot more explaining to do why I did not come back immediately."

"And that does still not answer my question, Yuri."

"I am handsome, Jessica. And you know a combination of handsome, charming, witty, and a nice person will bring to her. She might fall in love with me again. I sure don't want that."

She laughed loudly, "Oh dear Lord. That's it? That's just it?"

"Yeah. That's why I shut out the possibility, okay."

She stopped laughing and just stared back at me in a serious manner again, "Tiffany mourned for you..."

"..."

She continued as she started to weep softly, "She suffered from extreme depression for four long years. I was even there when she committed suicide. Don't you dare say it's just because of you or love, whatever? You've been her very reason for living. You've been her only light. That may seem petty to you, but, there's no other thing that keeps her going before you came to her life. Her own parents never treated her nicely back then. That's why she just had you and, even Sunkyu too, as her lone family."

"..."

"You know, I can still call off this engagement if Tiffany will just say so. But, you know what she said to me? She said it's all okay. She even had given us her blessing."

"..."

She wiped her tears and concluded, "She deserves answers, Yuri. This kind of resolve of yours is not what I want. What I want is for you to clear up everything, fix your relationship with her. At least, make her understand the whole truth."

"It's better to be kept like this, Jessica. Like I said, I don't want any more complications. On her depression? Yes, I do feel guilty on that. That's why I've been sending her flowers ever since. Though, I decided to stop now since I saw her finally being happy."

"She's still depressed."

"..."

"Did you see the dark circles under her eyes? She's been avoiding to fall asleep for two weeks. That's because she's still suffering from a chronic nightmare. And that's been freaking haunting her for years."

I sighed, "Alright. I will talk to her. But, at least give me some time."

"And what about Sunkyu? What are you gonna do?"

"I'll tell him I'm not his real father."

"Don't ing drop that bomb on him!"

"..."

"Are you an idiot, Yuri?"

"..."

"Tiff just gotten fixed her relationship with Sunkyu recently. Don't destroy that too. If the kid finds out you're not his real father and Tiffany already knew and hid it from him, he'll go rebel again. Another problem for her."

"What do you want me to do then? Just show up and explain when I didn't explain to his mother at all?"

"..."

"This absurdity has to stop. I will tell him the truth about our relationship. It doesn't matter how is he going to take this. He's already fourteen, anyway. I'm sure he's not going to be an idiot to hurt his mother again because of me."

"Fine. Do whatever you want."

"Do you think this isn't hard for me, huh?!"

"Yes, it is hard because you're making it hard for you!"

"..."

"Damn it, Yuri. Just a simple truth will set you free on this dilemma of yours, okay."

"You don't understand."

"I do understand."

"I don't want the kid to have his hopes up for me and Stephanie to get back together."

"He's already old enough to understand."

"You don't know that! I've been with that kid for so long. I don't want him to still choose me against Yoong. I want him to hate me. And so is Stephanie. The truth will come soon, yes, but not now. I want them to completely move on from me first."

"Okay." She sighed. "If that's what you really want then I surrender."

I reached for her hand. "Don't worry. I will fix everything. Just give me some time, okay?"

She smiled faintly, "Thank you."

"Please don't leave me."

"Silly. I will never leave you, okay." She held both of my hands. "We're in this together."

I went to her side and made her stand up. I wrapped her around my arms and kissed her forehead. "I love you." I uttered.

"I love you too." she responded and pecked me on the lips. And we stayed in an embrace in a long while.

A few moments later, Taeyeon snapped, "Woot. Sooyoung's here." He stood up and headed for the door. "I'll just go fetch them." Then, he went out.

Jessica and I broke away from each other. She then said, "Now, don't ruin this, Yuri. Sooyoung deserves the truth too. If you want to conceal some information from him, at least try to be nice."

"Yes, ma'am."

"Yah. I'm serious, okay."

"Alright. Alright." I chuckled. "You don't have to worry, okay. I'll behave."

"Good."

 

After few minutes, Taeyeon came back rushing. He stopped beside me and panted hard, "That was close."

"What happened to you?" I asked.

"He almost *huff*huff* tried to kill *huff*huff* me, man."

"Why?"

"*huff*huff* He thought I was *huff*huff* just fooling him that you're alive."

Suddenly, Sooyoung finally arrived. He was stomping his way towards me with Hyoyeon eagerly following behind. Yet, for only about few meters away, he stopped. He stared at me with so much horror drawn on his face.

"Y-you---! Y-you're a-aa-aa-l-l-iive---?!" he uttered in a stutter.

I smiled at him in return and greeted, "Hey, Soo. What's up?"

He didn't utter a response. Instead, tears started to fall from his eyes.

I went near him. "Dude. Calm down. Men don't cry."

"D-damn it, man. ing hell..." He rushed towards me and hugged me tightly. He sobbed harder. " you, man. you!"

I chuckled as I embraced him in return, "I miss you too, Sooyoung."
