"Yuri, my boy!"

"Mr. Goo." I rashly ran my way towards our front door and gave him a bow. "Good day, sir. I'm sorry I didn't know you're going to visit."

"You shouldn't say sorry, boy. I really wanted to surprise you today." He chuckled then redirected back his gaze to Tiffany. "Your wife is very beautiful, I say."

"Thank you, sir." she said and giggled.

"Oh. By the way, she's Tiffany, my wife. Tiffany, this is Mr. Goo Siwon, the President of Black Pearl Enterprise."

Tiffany then asked, "Oh. But you just said you're a cupcake shop owner?"

Mr. Goo grinned widely then answered, "Well, you got me. This is your fault Yuri."

"I-- I'm s-sorry."

He immediately slapped me hard on my back. "Relax there, boy! I'm just kidding!" he said while laughing heartily. Then, he redirected back to Tiffany, "You know you look familiar though... hmmmmm~" After a bit, he snapped out from his thoughts, "I remember now. Elizabeth."

"Elizabeth?" Fany said with her eyes wide open. She looked totally caught off guard for that random statement.

"Yes. The prettiest of her generation, I say. Ever heard of Elizabeth Hwang?"

"I uhhhhhh..."

"Are you somehow related to her?"

"She's actually my..." she looked down shyly. "Mom."

"Really? So that just means you're Stephanie Hwang? Or another child of Elizabeth or something?"

"I am... Stephanie, sir."

"So you are really the heir of the Hwangs then?"

"I guess you can call it that way, sir. But not anymore though..."

"Why not?"

"..."

He redirected his gaze to me, "Don't tell me you took her away from her home?"

"No, sir! It just so happens we met and that's it. I've got nothing to do with her leaving."

"Yes. He's not a kidnapper or whatever, sir. Like he said, our paths just crossed."

He suddenly laughed out loud, "You kids are so funny. Why so defensive? Don't worry I'm not gonna tell Henry or Elizabeth about this." He looked back at her, "So you ran away from your home... Why?"

"I just feel... the need, I guess."

"So he's the reason?" He pointed at me.

"Huh? No. I mean, before, no and now, yes. Like we said, we just accidentally..."

"I see. I see... I get it all now. For real... this is wow. a big wow. Really amusing."

"Amusing?"

"Yes, very amusing. A Kwon and a Hwang in one roof..."

"Uhh- excuse me but, what do you exactly mean by that, sir?" I asked.

"Oh nothing. Don't mind me, boy."

This man knows a lot about that fallen clan of Kwons. And with that statement he just said, I'm pretty sure it got something to do with that feud. Could it be that the other family he's talking about was the Hwangs?

"Umma, appa, who's he?" Sunkyu snapped as he peaked out from the kitchen.

"A kid? Who is he?"

"He's Sunkyu, sir, our son." I signaled him to get near and he complied. "Hello, mister old man." he greeted Mr. Goo with a bow.

"Hello too, little man." he looked back at Tiffany, "So he's your son?"

"Y-yes, sir."

"How old are you, young boy?"

"I'll be 11 next month!" Sunkyu said proudly.

"You, Stephanie?"

"Just turned 22, sir."

"So you got pregnant at age of 11?" He then immediately asked me too, "So you got her pregnant at age of 11?"

"I uhhh--"

Just as I am, Tiffany's also flabbergasted too. I don't know how should I answer him for this. Oh brother. This is terrible. If Sunkyu finds out we're just lying on him, we'll be in big trouble. This old man sure loves interrogating people. What's worse is... he's good at it.

"Appa." Sunkyu suddenly snapped. "You told me I cannot make love with my girlfriend at my age now and I should just wait to get old. But what about you and umma, huh?! So unfair!"

"Sunkyu it's not like that... You still shouldn't do it at this point in time."

"No! You're so unfair!"

Mr. Goo then snapped in, "Little man, what your parents did before doesn't mean it is right in the first place. Your father told you that not for you to do the same. Or would you rather want to spend your teenage life working?"

"Still... It's so unfair."

"You should not rush things with your life, little man. There's a right time and place for you to experience it."

"Okay... I won't do it, mister old man."

"Good."

"Err- Sunkyu, why don't you go finish your food." Tiffany snapped.

"Okay." he answered. He then bowed again to Mr. Goo. "Bye, mister old man. Nice to meet you." he bid then left.

"I demand an explanation about your son as soon as possible, boy." he whispered to me.

"Y-yes, sir."

"Anyway, back to my real reason I'm here, I just to want to ask you some things."

"About what?"

"Your goals, competence... you can consider this as your job interview. So, do you have a printed resume with you?"

"N-no, sir."

"Never mind." he pulled out a brown folder from his suitcase. "I already have one here I took from Mong and asked him some things about you too. So, hope you don't mind?"

"Yes. It's all just fine for me."

"Shall we?" Before I could answer again, he already had himself towards the couch and sat.

"Would you like something to drink, sir?" Tiffany asked.

"Oh no, it's okay. We're just going to be quick."

"Okay. Uhmm- I guess I should leave you guys now. Nice meeting you, sir, by the way."

"Nice meeting you too, little Elise." he said then redirected his gaze on me when Fany left the room. I then pulled a stool in front of him and sat.

"So, Yuri. I actually am considering you for a full-time position."

"Wh-what?! Are you sure, sir?"

"Yes. But you'll still be under probation, okay? I really want to make sure I am not wrong in hiring you."

"Okay, sir. Thank you so much." Wow. Mr. Goo sure is like a gift by the heavens for me. I am too lucky on meeting him... I shouldn't waste this chance. This is something that could only happen once in a lifetime.

"Let's start..." He pulled out another file folder inside his suitcase. "So, tell me about your studies."

"I'm currently studying at Se Kyung University, taking up Bachelor of Science in business administration. I'm already on my third year."

"Why there?"

"It's the most affordable university in the city, sir."
