Tiffany POV

Nothing new. The same nightmare visited me again and had me woke up. At least, it was no longer in the middle of the night, though.

It's already 6 o' clock of Saturday morning, 13th of August of the year 2016. Three days passed since our last meet-up with our friends as well as our visit to Grandma Yuna's place. And for the days passed, it was noticeable for me on how much Yoong became too jolly and sweet.

Yeah, I know that Yoong has always been sweet to me. But, this is really unusual. I feel like he's trying to hide something. Well, in the first place, if he didn't show me that very much intriguing reaction of his on the yearbooks he scanned the last time, probably I won't get noticed the change in his behavior.

Nonetheless, it seemed he woke up quite early today as he's no longer beside me in bed. Usually, it's always me who wakes up first and that's because of those pesky repetitive nightmares, obviously. *Sigh*. For real, I wonder when will I ever get out of those bad dreams...

I decided to take an early shower. Afterwards, as I finished fixing myself up and stepped out of the room, I noticed some red roses placed one by one on the floor. It seemed to depict a pathway. I picked up each until its very last which was situated in front of the door of the dining room.

I opened the door and found the dining room ceiling full of ribbons and balloons in shades of pink and white. Yoong was there standing at the center while holding a bouquet of red roses which pretty much hides his face.

"Good morning, love." he snapped. He finally removed the bouquet to show me his face. He flashed me his handsome smile and winked.

I giggled as I came closer, "Now, what's this?"

"Well... Nothing much." He forwarded the bouquet to me. "For you."

I accepted and responded, "Thank you very much."

He slid his one arm behind my waist and pulled me to him. "Happy monthsary." He kissed my lips.

I giggled, "Happy monthsary." I captured his lips again. "I told you not to prepare something on our monthsaries anymore."

"But, I can't help it."

"You're really pressuring me. You're making me feel like I'm a bad girlfriend."

"Well..." He placed his lips on my ear. "You sure are." He bit it lightly. "I really want to punish you sometimes."

I giggled again and slapped his chest lightly. "Shut it. It's still so early in the morning, you know."

"Right. But, tonight again, okay?"

"Yes, master."

He chuckled, "Come on. Let's eat."

He guided me to the dining. Like how a gentleman as he always is, he pulled a chair for me to take a seat. He afterwards sat on the chair beside me. He happened to prepare lots of breakfast meals particularly omelets, pancakes, bacon and eggs, and many more. There was even a large chocolate ice cream cake too.

I took a slice of the cake and tried a spoonful. "Hmm. Did you bake this?"

"Nope. I wanted to bake one but I had no time."

"It's quite tasty. Good thing, you didn't bake it." I looked at him and gave him a wink.

"Yah! What do you mean by that, huh?"

"Well, remember last year when you bake a cake for my birthday? That salty-salty cake?"

"It was not my fault! It was your son! He purposely replaced the sugar pack I bought with iodized salt!"

I chuckled, "Yeah, and I remember how much he was too happy that you didn't notice it."

He sighed loudly, "That's why I learned my lesson. Never again. But, I say, he was really good. He purposely left sugar at the topmost and made the rest of the contents as salt. He anticipated that I'll try to taste it. That was a very clever move."

"Hmmm. I think he's quite better than you on being a prankster, eh?"

"I've already retired from pranking people, anyway. It's about time to pass on the torch. Maybe, if we'll get along well again someday, I'll teach him all the pranks I did."

"Yah! Don't ever try to influence him with your mischievousness."

"Hey, that will be a cool father-and-son bonding, you know."

I felt my cheeks flushed from the thought. I glanced at him and noticed that he was already staring at me. I smiled at him and he ree too.

He then uttered, "You see, I have another purpose why I prepared a lot for our monthsary today."

"Really? What is it?"

He pulled out a black ring box from his pocket and held it in front of me. "I've been meaning to ask you if you wanna take this ring."

I giggled and playfully asked. "For what?"

He lifted its lid. "Hmmm. You know... if you wanna marry me? Something like that."

"Hmmm. About that..." I looked at him in the eyes.

He narrowed his eyes and stared at me quizzically. "Now what? We already talked about this days ago."

I giggled, "Yeah, I do. I wanna marry you."

"Why do you always love teasing me, huh?"

"Yah. Are you gonna give me the ring or not?"

He faked a sigh. He placed the ring box on top of the table and pulled out the ring from it. He held my left hand up and helped me wear it on my ring finger. "There you go. Now, you're officially 'will be' mine." he said and grinned. He kissed my forehand and afterwards stared back to my eyes.

I touched his left cheek. "I love you." I then kissed his lips.

He rested his forehead on mine. Then, he kissed me back. "I love you too." He kissed me again and had our lips locked for a moment. He afterwards uttered, "I promise you a very happy life. You'll never regret saying yes to me."

"And I promise I'm gonna be a good wife to you." I kissed him again.

"Alright. That's plausible enough. But, please promise me another thing."

"What is it?"

"No more sadness, as in for real."

"Yah. It's not like I can order my mind not to get sad or something."

“Trust me. You can."

"Make me suffer amnesia."

He chuckled, "You don't need one."

"Hmmm."

"What? Can you promise or not?"

"Well... Do you see me unhappy now?"

"Hmmm. No, I think? Maybe, you're just a bit sad or something?"

"A bit, yes. It's your job to remove that feeling, though."

"Hey, I'm trying my best. But, you are one hell of a stubborn woman."

I pouted. "I'm not stubborn. Like I said, it's all in my subconscious mind."

"Okay, okay. Let's scratch that promise then." He kissed my lips again. "What matters is, it's all official now."

"Yup."

"So, let's eat?" he asked and I nodded in response.

He started to stuff food on my plate, then, on his. And, we began our usual routine in the morning, breakfast chat about random things and such. Few moments later, Sunkyu finally woke up. As usual, he went to the dining and sat on the chair opposite of mine. He started to fill his plate with food and just silently ate.

"Good morning, sweetie." I greeted. Yet, he didn't respond. The atmosphere inside the dining room died. Yes, it's always been the usual.

After a long while, Yoong snapped at me, "In case, uhhm-- you have forgotten, your mom and dad will arrive today from their vacation. We need to get ready early as we have to fetch them at the airport."

"Okay." I answered.

He looked at Sunkyu, "And that includes you, Kyu. Your halmunee insisted for a family lunch gathering for today."

Sunkyu suddenly rebutted as he stared over his hyung boringly, "And that should exclude you, right?"

"Uhmmm-- Kyu...? About that..." I snapped.

He glanced at me. Then, he happened to notice the ring I'm wearing on my left ring finger. He looked at it sullenly. I suddenly felt uneasy. I withdrew my hand slowly and hid it under the table. Afterwards, he sighed loudly and just continued eating.

"Sunkyu." Yoong snapped at him.

"..."

"Your umma and I... we're planning to make it official."

"..."

"I hope, this time, you finally will accept me for your umma."

"..."

"We love each other. And I mean no harm to her nor to you. Please do understand."

He ignored his hyung again and just continued on eating.

I snapped, "So, uhmm... should we tell mom and dad later then?"

Yoong responded, "Yeah, I'm actually planning to ask for your hand later from them. I really do hope they will say yes."

"They will. They like you, you know."

He sighed, "We can't be that sure, though. Your father's some kind of a bi-polar guy."

"Still, he likes you. You never had bad blood with him. He's just strict to you sometimes."

Suddenly, Sunkyu stood up. He picked up his plate and silverwares then headed for the kitchen sink and washed them silently. The silence continued to erupt inside the room. After few minutes, he left the room.

I snapped at Yoong, "Do you think he'll be okay with our engagement?"

"He will. Maybe, he just needs more time."

"He never accepted us dating, you know. How much more time?"

"I'll try to reach out to him. I'm gonna double my effort this time." He then smiled at me as he brushed his fingers on my hair. "So, relax. Don't worry about it much, okay?"

---

10 o' clock in the morning, the three of us have arrived at the arrival area of Incheon Airport. We stayed at the same place where we waited for Hyoyeon the last time. And, as usual again, it's only Yoong and I who engage in casual conversations the whole time. Well, I've been trying to talk to my son, you know. However, he always ignores me in the end. Also, to make me really shut up, he put on his large headphones and just played his Nintendo 3DS console.

*Sigh*. Now, I'm just hoping for my mom's help. She seemed to be the only one who can really talk out with Sunkyu. You know, I feel quite envious. I feel like they're actually the mother and son, not me and him. Well... I kinda feel envious too on the fact that my mom and I never had the same relationship when I was younger. It was only in the recent years when we just started to grow closer. It's not like I'm complaining, though... It's just that... There's so many wasted years...

"Yoo-hoo! Earth to Tiffany!" Yoong snapped as he clapped his hand in front of my face.

"Yeah?"

"I've been talking and talking here and it turns out you're not even listening to me."

"I'm sorry. It's just that... I thought of my mom."

"What about her?"

"You know... all the wasted years. Even with my dad too, we wasted so many years. Also, on their relationship, they're just trying to mend theirs recently."

He smiled warmly at me, "It's better late than never."

"Yeah, but... it's kind of tooooo late, don't you think? My mom and I could have a typical mother and daughter relationship like ten years ago, or when I reached puberty or something. You know... so she could be there giving me advice on boys and many things."

"You didn't need that. You were already too occupied with the thought of your childhood prince, right?"

"Well, she could have suggested something like, try to date someone else."

"So, now you're regretting you only loved Yuri-hyung over those years?"

"No way. All I'm just saying is..."

"What?"

"Well, I could have tried to be like Jessica back then. She enjoyed becoming a playgirl too much. In the end, she was still capable of falling in love so hard with someone afterwards. I could have had the same."

"Hmm. Don't blame your mother for that, though. Blame yourself because you never tried to play with fire. And I totally believe, even if your mother tried to insist on you to date someone else back then, you will stick to what you desire."

I sighed, "Yeah, you're probably right."

"So, you're actually wanting to experience becoming a playgirl?"

"No. I mean, not anymore."

"Just stop getting gloomy about it. You already have three boyfriends so far in your life, anyway. That's Yuri-hyung, Sooyoung, and me."

"Yeah, but, look. All you three? The three out of four best friends. Same gang. Same peer. It's kinda weird, isn't it?"

"Well, I cannot blame you for that. We are the hottest and most handsome guys in our batch. You can never deny that."

I sighed again, "Right."

"Alright. If you wanna play for a while, I will let you. Perhaps, I can even help you out."

"Yah. I'm not saying I still want to. Didn't you just hear me?"

He ignored me then pointed at some guy standing few meters far from us, "How about that guy?"

"Err- no. Stop pointing your finger to random people, Yoong."
