Reminiscence of the Day the Light of her Life Came Forth
Romantic Street: A Detour To DestinyIt's been three days passed since Taeyeon and Sooyoung joined our search for Jessica. With a total of 36 men Sooyoung committed to this, plus us four, we divided in twos, fourths, and sometimes even solos. Yet, we couldn't even get a single hint where she is. This time is indeed much harder than during Tiffany's kidnapping. Basically because she's the one who wants to run and hide away from us.
Nonetheless, we are sure she's still in this country. We have checked and monitored the migration office, air flights, and sea voyages since August 5th and there's no hint of her.
For today, I am teamed up with Taeyeon and we agreed to meet up here in my place as I still needed to wait for Krystal to arrive. I asked for her help to babysit Sunkyu for the whole day.
*knock-knock-knock*
"Yuri-yah?"
*knock-knock-knock*
"It's me, Krystal."
I went to the front door and opened it. "I have a doorbell, Krystal. You can just press it."
She smiled cheekily, "But I want it classic." Hmmm. I heard that line from Sica before.
"Good morning, by the way." I greeted.
"Good morning too."
We both went inside. "Sorry for bothering you. I know it's school break and you have other things to do."
"Oh, no, it's totally okay with me. Besides, Sunkyu is like a son to me already."
"Thank you so much."
She giggled and squeezed my forearm lightly, "You don't have to thank me. If it's you, I gladly offer my help. You're that important to me."
Suddenly, the doorbell rang. "Oh. It must be Taeyeon." I said and excused myself. I opened the front door and it was indeed the guy in a very gloomy state. Well, he's been acting like ever since his confrontation with Yoong happened.
"Hey, Yul." he greeted gloomily.
"Hey. Come in..." I said and he complied. We both went to the living room. And as soon as Krystal sees him, she smirked and snapped, "It is indeed a small world, Mr. Kim. How's my mother's killer doing nowadays?"
"Your mother's killer?" I repeated in question.
"Yeah." She nodded. "I'm pertaining to him, actually."
Wow. Now, sure the tactless personality runs in the genes. She's so like Jessica. Indeed, they are real sisters.
Taeyeon looked away from her in a very sad manner, "H-hi, Krystal-noona."
"So, what are you planning now? Kill my half-sister too?"
"Krystal, stop." I intrude.
"I'm sorry, Yuri. I just couldn't help but... remembering the tragedy happened with my mom every time I see this guy."
"It's okay uhhmm-- for now, we should just focus on Jessica. Maybe you guys can deal with this problem afterwards. I'm sure enough he didn't really mean to do such thing to lead your mother to her death."
"You are really a very nice guy." She squeezed my forearm gently again. "That's why I couldn't help but like you." She then giggled.
And that statement had Taeyeon looked so flabbergasted. He exchanged his glance between us two.
I then redirected, "Err-- Thanks again for coming here, Krystal. If there's anything you want, just tell me."
"Hmmm… You can take me out for a dinner some time. That will be fine for me." she said and winked.
"Oh. Okay. I promise you one after we find Sica."
"Great." She smiled warmly at me.
"We're going now. Just give me a call if anything goes wrong around here."
"Okay, okay. Give me a call too once you guys get to find my sister."
"Sure thing."
---
It was pretty much a very silent walk of me and Taeyeon to my condominium unit's parking area. Though, from time to time, Taeyeon looks at me weirdly like he wanted to ask me something yet, he just shrugs it all the time. Well, I couldn't start a conversation with him myself.
Alright, I got to be honest with you, I really don't want to team up with him or Yoong. It's too much awkward for me. See? That's why I don't even know how to start a conversation with them. Well, whenever I try, I always end up failing.
Oh well, might as well try though...
"So, Taeng, where should we look this time?"
He then pulled out his planner from his bag and scanned its contents. Few seconds later, he finally got on the page, "According to our search plan, we're assigned to search around Incheon for today."
"Oh. I see..." Crap. I forgot we already planned where to look per day. See? I told you I'll just fail.
So, as planned, Taeyeon and I are just currently driving around Incheon. Yet, sometimes, we do walk inside establishments to check for Jessica too. However, it's been three hours already when we started the search and until now, we had no luck on finding her. And the same, there's still no real conversation between me and Taeyeon for the past hours too.
*Sigh*. I wonder where the overly-talkative and goofy Taeyeon went. The Taeyeon I am with sure is becoming stranger to me as time goes by...
"I screwed up." he snapped. Thank goodness, he finally decided to talk.
"Yeah, you did." I answered back.
"All I ever wanted was... to be happy..."
"Tell me, Taeng. You requested from Yoong to let Jessica be with you until she remembers her past. Did you really have plans to tell her or make her remember everything at all?"
"..."
"So, you didn't?"
He sighed, "To be honest with you... Yes, I didn't."
"..."
"I've always thought that Jessica suffering amnesia is the key for us to start all over again. I know I was gambling. If Jessica will know, I am ing screwed up. If not, then, all the favor goes to me. And now, this is the very aftermath..."
"..."
"She had forsaken me. She said she never wanted to see me again. From that point on, I knew... there will never be a chance for me and her to be together again." He chuckled bitterly. "And I don't want to get my hopes up anymore."
"For these past years, Taeng, you've been telling me it's too late, and that, there's no more hope and such... Yet, in the end, you will still pursue yourself on her."
"..."
"You know... You should really have to make up your mind. What do you really want? What do you really have to do?"
"Right... I guess I'm back to my original plan."
