Yuri POV

Mom, Dad, and my younger self were in the living room. Yuri just happened to arrive at their residence after his horrendous encounter with Tiffany's father, Henry Hwang, at the hospital. He quickly escalated each and everything they talked about which, apparently, alarmed the two dreadfully.

"Yes, I understand... Please, take good care of yourself too. Don't worry about us... Thank you, Elise." Mom then smiled bitterly as she listened to the response of her best friend from the other line of the call. "Yes, I hope and pray we can still see each other again someday... Goodbye..." she afterwards ended the call.

Mom turned to face her husband. Dad then asked, "What? What did she say?"

"It's already been confirmed. That maybe is why Jaejoong confronted our son earlier..."

Dad then sighed deeply. He was trying to actually calm his own self down.

Mom sat lifelessly on the couch. "I thought Jaejoong has changed..."

"I thought so too..." Dad then looked down. "Well, he might really have changed. It's just... I changed him back again. It's all my fault."

"..."

He then looked at his wife apologetically. He reached for her hand and gripped it gently. "I'm really so sorry. I messed everything up."

"..."

"I shouldn't have taken you for granted."

Mom let out a bitter laugh as tears rolled down her cheeks. "You are an , Yunho. You've always been one..."

"I know..."

"..."

"..."

Mom then sighed as she redirected the topic, "Anyway, I learned my lesson. This time, I swear, I totally will never let my mind forget that Jaejoong is hell of a crazy man. Aisshh-- how could I be tricked before?"

"Boa, don't be like that..."

"No, you can't stop me from thinking this way. I was fooled by him, Yunho."

All of a sudden, a man butted in as he entered the living room, "So that's how it all happened." The couple looked over the direction of the voice. It was none other Uncle Siwon Goo.

The older guy went closer. "So, that is why Jaejoong has gone crazy again, huh?"

Dad looked away guiltily.

"Tsk Tsk. It's inevitable, though... Jaejoong has always been crazy. Everybody knows that."

"..."

"Cheer up."

Mom then snapped, "What makes you visit us, oppa? Did something happen?"

Uncle Siwon looked at her in disbelief. "So you really do expect me not to be by your side on a real damn hell of a problem like this?"

Dad just looked down and rubbed his face with both of his hands in frustration.

"How could you mess up, Yunho? Really..." the old man said. Then, he gazed over Yuri for a moment. Afterwards, he returned his focus on the couple. "How could you two messed up as parents?"

Mom then reacted, "We never lacked on educating our son, oppa. It all happened..." She looked away. "... probably due to the call of the situation..."

He scoffed, "Pfft. Call of the situation, really?" He then looked at Yuri in disappointment. "This is ridiculous. So unbelievable..." he mumbled under his breath.

Yuri didn't bother to gaze over his uncle. He couldn't even afford to. Then, after a moment of silence, he gazed over his dad. "Sorry appa..." he uttered. Though, it sounded to be a little different, that, he's pertaining to something else other than the situation they're discussing.

Dad quite understood what his son was trying to apologize into. He ended up looking at him in remorse. Afterwards, he went near and held him on his shoulders, "It's okay, son. This is just really something I never expected at all. But what's not really okay is you disobeyed me." He then turned away then started to walk back and forth while rubbing his temples.

"You created a real damn big mess, my boy." uncle added as he also rubbed his temples and sat on the couch beside my mother.

He stared over his uncle first. Though, he somewhat thought he shouldn't be butting in on their own family problem, he felt he needed to apologize on him too in respect. "I'm sorry, Uncle..."

Mom then closed her eyes tight, "How could this happen, Yuri? Why did you do it?"

He looked down guiltily. Tears have accumulated on his eyes now. "I-- I'm sorry, umma..."

Uncle Siwon redirected to Dad, "What are we gonna do now, Yunho?"

"I don't know... I don't know... All I'm just sure is Jae will never allow this situation to go any further." He then looked at me. "I told you to stop seeing that girl, Yuri. I've been telling you that ever since. Yet, you didn't listen to me."

"I'm sorry, appa."

"The Hwangs are off-limits, Yuri, how many times do I need to remind you that? Now, you just made your life in danger."

"Hmm-- I'm sure not only Yuri though." Uncle responded. "Jae will surely avenge on us too. Knowing that guy. He's really that ill-tempered."

The couple looked away and fell into silence. They couldn't utter exactly what their son has told them earlier, that, it was actually part of Henry's plan.

Mom then just rolled her eyes and gritted her teeth in frustration. She then hissed and insulted the guy, "That's why I told Elise so many times to get her husband to a mental hospital. He's a damn crazy guy."

"Boa, enough." Dad halted.

"What? He's a total psychopath and everybody knows that." She rolled her eyes again. "I can't believe I was fooled by him..." she mumbled again under her breath.

"He maybe is or whatever. But Jae's still our friend. You shouldn't insult him like that." Dad said.

"So, now what? He can give death threats to my son anytime he wants while I'm not allowed to say even a little insult about him?"

"Jae was just shocked. I'm sure he didn't mean to say those things."

Uncle mocked a laugh, "The hell... when it comes to Jaejoong's foolish mind, there's no such thing as 'didn't meant to say'. When he says something without thinking, he does it as in--- all the time. He's that stubborn and hardheaded."

"I'm sure we can find a way to negotiate with him about this..."

Mom stood and said in complete sarcasm, "Oh, you and your never-ending trust with your 'beloved' brother. Yeah, continue that, Yunho. Maybe, by the time we're all already dead, you'll realize there's really no more hope for change with Jae."

"Boa..." Dad could only utter her name and just looked down guilty. It was like as he said before, he never trusted his brother. He never forgave him. So, then, despite his brother has already changed back then, he didn't acknowledge the latter and merely continued to loathe him.

Mom then sighed from seeing the guilt on the face of her husband again. "I don't want any more negotiation attempts with anyone of them, Yun. We'll leave U.S. right away."

"But that will only just make him more infuriated about this. We will stay and nego--"

"I am your wife, you will listen to me!"

"But--"

"No buts!"

Dad didn't respond anymore and just scratched his head.

Uncle butted, "You heard my sis, Yun. You know how pushy your wife is whenever she wants everything to go her way."

"Yah, shut up, oppa! You talk as if I'm not here!" Then, she redirected back to dad. She took a deep breath first then hugged him, "Please. Let's just leave this country. Let's go back to Korea."

Dad sighed, "Alright..."

"We're really gonna leave?" The young me snapped which made the three of them look at him. "Are we gonna bring Stephanie with us too?"

"..."

"..."

Mom broke their hug. She went near then knelt in front of her son. She held both of his hands. "Sweetie... You know we can't."

"No, we can."

"We have to leave her to her parents, sweetie."

"But I can't. After all that happened, she needed me even more now."

"Her mom and dad will take good care of her."

"No."

"You have to let her go."

"No." he repeated stubbornly and looked away.

She cupped his face to make him look at her straight. "Sweetie, you have to accept she's not the one for you."

"No."

She looked down and uttered bitterly the statement that Dad has always been telling since then, "A Kwon should never be together with a Hwang."

"No."

"You have to accept the truth--"

"No!" He swatted her hands away. "I love Stephanie and she loves me back! You can never stop us to be together! We're meant for each other, we're destined to be together-- forever!"

"Yuri..." She held him on his forearm.

"Let me go!"

"Yuri..."

"I will not leave her alone."

"Yuri..."

"I said no!" He rashly stood up and pushed his mother. He glared over his father. "I shouldn't have trusted you! I shouldn't have reached out for your help when you're just going to betray me in the end!" Then, he rushed out of the living room and headed to his bedroom. He started to pack his things on his big backpack again.

"Kid." I snapped.

"Don't bother me!"

"When you were confronted by Henry, you were already willing to leave Stephanie to let the lives of your parents be spared..."

"I know..." he stopped from packing and just sat on his bed. "But I... now that I realized it is happening I..." Then, tears started to fall down from his eyes. "I can never bear to be away from Stephanie. I cannot live without her."

I smiled faintly and sat at the other side of the bed. "Tell me... How could you fallen in love so young?"

"..."

"It's somehow amusing, you know... At your age, you're alr--"

He then cut me out, "It's not like I forced myself to feel this way!"

"..."

"I just... love her. And that is all I know and I needed to know. I... don't need to anymore ascertain, to ensure this is what I really am feeling."

"..."

"I just know... "

Afterwards, silence again seeped in. He continued on packing his things. He's again determined to run away. Yet, few moments later, Dad came in.

"Hey." Dad uttered. Yet, he didn't get a response from him. He went nearer. "So, you're going to leave again?"

"Yes. And you can never stop me."

Dad sighed deeply first. Then, he sat down on the bed. "I'm sorry."

He stopped and looked at his Dad. Then, he decided to sit down half a meter away beside him.

Dad continued, "I know I haven't apologized on what I did... I know it's my fault everything started to mess up between you and Stephanie."

"..."

"But... do you remember that night? That moment at the balcony... I knew you were there. I knew you followed me."

Yuri looked startled and just gazed at his father with his eyes widened.

He sighed again, "Believe me... I just tried. I just tested out if you'll be going to interfere, to stop me."

That got the young me felt enraged. He shouted, "So, now you're blaming me?! Because I didn't stop you from cheating with Stephanie's mom, it's my fault now?!"

"It's not like that..."

"You freaking know cheating is unforgivable! You knew yourself you're about to commit a sin that time, why blame me?!"

"I'm not blaming you..."

"..."

"I just want to tell you... of how happy I was that you understood my situation..."

Yuri looked away.

"That... you understood how I feel."

"..."

"So... it's because of that, I presumed it would be okay if I choose to love Elizabeth again. I took that as your acceptance, that you do not oppose our relationship. I felt too greedy. I felt too selfish. It was only too late that I realized I am already hurting you and your mom too much. That time when you ran away with Stephanie..."

"..."

He looked at his son, "I never felt so ashamed of myself more than ever."

"..."

He breathed deeply and continued, "That's also the time that I realized you and your mom are more important to me now than my obsession in love. It took me too long to realize that I have already fallen in love with your mother since then."

"That is why... I wanted to thank you. And... and I'm truly sorry that you needed to do such a reckless thing just to make me realize how worthless of a father I am to you... of how awful of a husband I am to your mother."

"Appa..." He then started to cry.

"I hope you can forgive me. I know I made you grew up so fast. I know it's my fault you didn't get to enjoy being just a normal kid. I put pressure on you too much."

He tried to hide his face from his dad as he looked down. Yet, he still cried harder.

Dad then gazed at him with a faint smile forming on his lips. He then pulled his son into his arms and embraced him. "I hope I'm not too late..."

He sobbed harder. Then, he returned his father's embrace. "I'm sorry, appa. I'm sorry I disobeyed you. I'm sorry I've always been stubborn. I'm sorry I've always been a problem son to you and umma."

Dad chuckled as he caressed the back of his hair. "Silly. You never were. You were always a good boy, son. Always..."

The chaos still continued with my family. The young me has agreed to leave the country with his parents. Our parents decided to transfer to a new residence in the next nearby state for a moment and it is for the reason to cool down the situation. Dad decided to give an adequate interval from the chaos and to their designated date of returning to Korea. They happened to stay there for two months.

During the last week of the second month of them being away, there was one time, actually the one last time, when Yuri was allowed by his parents to sneak a visit on his beloved girlfriend. Mom asked for Ms. Elise's help to make it possible, that, the latter has given them the date when will her husband be having a business meeting out of the country.
