Taeyeon POV

"Taeyeon?" Jessica uttered in startle.

"Yup. It's me, a hundred percent." I offered her a can of coffee. "For you."

She smiled faintly then took the drink. "Thanks..."

"So, uhhh... is it okay if I join you?"

She stared at me first. Then, she nodded and looked away.

I sat down on the free chair opposite of hers. "It's been awhile since we've seen each other, huh?"

"Yeah..." she said, still not looking back at me.

"..."

"..."

"Uhhmm... Jessica?"

"..."

"I know we didn't have a closure on our relationship. I mean, a good closure."

"We ended up in bad terms. What do you expect?"

"I know..."

"..."

"I'm sorry. I'm really so sorry for everything I did."

She finally returned a look. "Why?"

"H-huh?"

"Why are you still apologizing?"

"I..."

"Didn't I already reject your apology the last time?"

"Well, I'm just trying my luck now though, that, maybe you're in a good mood now or something. Then, you accepted the coffee I offered so... I really just took the chance."

She sighed loudly in defeat. "I guess I have no more reason to hate you, anyway, so, apology accepted."

"So... Are we back being friends?"

"We were never friends, Taeyeon. Don't you remember we were enemies before we dated again?"

I chuckled, "Yeah, right. How can I forget that...?"

"..."

"So..." I forwarded my hand. "Friends?"

She smiled warmly then took my hand and shook. "Seriously, Tae, just friends, okay?"

"Yes. Yes..." Of course...

"..."

"So, what do you mean by 'no more reason to hate me' again?" I snapped.

She shrugged. "Well, there really is no more reason for me to hate you. I already moved on. You already moved on. What's done is done... It's all that."

"I see... He really does make you happy, huh? That makes me feel relieved."

She smiled faintly in return then, diverted her gaze away.

"I uhmm... I saw you."

"Huh?"

"I saw you last week when you were rushing out of the graveyard where Yuri was buried. Actually, we sort of bumped into each other that time."

"Oh..."

"Why...?"

"What do you mean why?"

"Why were you running away? Did something happened between you and him, I mean, Yoong?"

"..."

"The last time I checked, you two were so much in good terms. That seem to be too long ago though. The two of you even bullied me on that club."

"Oh. That one." She smiled again. "That night out was really awesome. Who knows we will all cross paths there, right?"

"Yeah..."

"..."

"So...?"

"Huh?"

"What happened?"

She stared at me first. Then, finally, she sighed in defeat and answered, "I broke up with him... It happened around weeks after that night out."

"But why?"

"It's personal..."

"I see..."

Afterwards, it was all nothing but silence for a long while. I couldn't even start another topic of conversation with her because if I do, I might end up crossing the friendship borderline thing. You know... if I get to cross it, we might end up in an awkward moment.

But then, unexpectedly, she started out another topic, "So, you came back for Yuri?"

"Yeah... I'm a little late though. I found out about his death only weeks ago."

"I'm late too. I rely after a month and half. But I already found it out a day after his death."

"Returned? So, you left too?"

"Yeah... It was after my breakup with Yoong, I went to Europe and afterwards to US."

"Wow. So, you were actually having a World trip or something?"

"Well... yeah, I guess."

"So, are you gonna stay here now?"

"No. I'll be leaving again. I'm just gonna take care of some things here first."

"I see..."

"..."

"You know... I feel like everything's too fast-paced. A lot sure has happened in our gang for just a year."

She smiled bitterly, "Yeah. Last year sure was a damn hell of roller coaster ride."

"Yeah... I kinda miss those times when we were all just hanging out, having fun like bummers."

"Me too." She sighed then closed her eyes. "Everything's too stressful now..."

"Yep..."

"..."

"..."

"Say..." She looked at me intently. "Do you wanna hang out?"

"I... uhh..."

She suddenly chuckled, "Relax, okay. I said hang out... as friends."

I smiled in return, "Yes. I was just... caught off guard. You know, about you... asking to hang out..." I faked a chuckle.

"What do you think of me? Doesn't know how to have fun anymore? Are you really judging me on the way I present myself?"

"Hey, I didn't say that. I never judged your Gothic, emo look. Yeah, I did long ago but, that was already long gone."

She chuckled again, "Alright, alright. So... wanna hang out?"

"S-sure."

We both stood up and started to walk. "I know a place nearby. We can just walk to get there." she said.

"Alright. I don't mind anywhere, anyway, as long as there's liquor around."

"Good."

...

I snapped, "...Uhmm... Can I ask you something?"

"Sure."

"So that night out... that accidental reunion of all of us, I mean to say... did you recognize me from my disguise or what?"

"Yes, like totally. Yoong and I already recognized you even from afar before we approached you that time, you know." She then laughed. "You even faked a very horrible female voice. You were too obvious."

I laughed along too. "Okay, Miss Perfect, I wasn't just prepared that time. You two caught me off guard."

She giggled, "You were so cute for a girl though. If I didn't really know you at all, probably, I might have fallen for your trick. Well, except for the horrible voice."

"Thanks. --NOT for the comment of yours on my voice, okay."

She chuckled again. Then, she opened up, "But, yeah... I want to apologize to you though. I know we went over-the-line on bullying you."

"Nah. It's okay."

"It was his idea though. I just... tagged along."

"I understand. I know he's that mad at me. He has a right to, anyway... But, you know, I still see that night quite nice. I mean, that seemed to be the last time since we all had fun."

"Yeah. It was also the last time I saw Tiffany before Yuri's death. I'm relieved that we reconciled that night. But, only with her drunk self though."

"Well, good thing you actually talked to her that night. Unfortunately, I didn't get to."

"I see..."

It feels so good walking and chatting like this with her again. It sure also brings back memories. She's really so fun to talk to... I feel too comfortable talking to her... She's really... really so pretty... I...

Oh, cut the crap out, Kim Taeyeon. Hold yourself. You're fanboy-ing again.

Then suddenly, our forehands touched. I felt my cheeks were burning red with the moment. I felt the urge to hold her hand.

She's smiling as she was looking on the floor pavement. I wonder what she thinks right now... If I try to hold her hand, will she refuse? Does she think of the same too?

She then looked at me. I immediately diverted my gaze away. "Is there something wrong?" she asked.

I chuckled nervously, "No, no, none at all."

We finally got to the corner of the street. The traffic light suddenly turned green which resulted for us to wait for our turn to cross. Yet, during the wait, she stared at me intently. Not to mention, she was smiling too.

Okay, what is she thinking? And what is the meaning of that smile of hers?

She suddenly chuckled and snapped, "You're really so funny, Taengoo."

The traffic light turned red and she started to walk leaving me just following behind. "What? I'm not doing anything." I said.

She turned around answered me while walking backwards, "That facial expression of yours." She giggled. "You really look like a distorted emoticon every time you do that."
