Have you ever felt like you have your set of friends who have been with you for almost half of your life and yet, in one single snap, it's like you don't really know them at all?

Well... It's how I am currently feeling now while I am here together with Jessica and Taeyeon. Both of them are acting... so unnatural. It's like I am with strangers right now.

Apparently, I am with them inside the ICU, looking over the unconscious Yoong. Jessica has been too silent ever since after her breakdown during Yoong's operation hours ago. She never uttered a single word to me. On the other hand, Taeyeon's so into his game, Candy Crush. Like freaking seriously, Candy Crush? Why is he so random? Why Candy Crush?

Oops. Jessica's now staring at me. Omo... Is she reading my mind now? Alright. I'll ask her through mental telepathy.

'Jessica, can you hear me?'

'What do you think Candy Crush has and Taeyeon's playing it now?'

She looked away and stared back at Yoong. *Sigh*. Probably, her mind's too occupied for her to still be concerned about what's going on with my mind.

"We're here!" Hyoyeon cheerfully said as she and Sooyoung went inside the ICU. Whew. Finally, some people who I know never changed have arrived.

"What's up? Where you two have been?" I asked.

"Well... Just somewhere..." She went near. She giggled and whispered, "Just went for some adventure inside the hospital."

"Oooohh. Where did you go?"

"In an empty operating room."

"Oooohh."

"You know what happened next."

"Hmmm. Roleplay, huh?"

"Yup."

*Sigh*. Now, I miss my Yuri. Why is he taking so long on talking to Mister Minhyuk, anyway?

"How is he?" Sooyoung asked Tae. "Still hasn't woke up?"

Taeyeon stopped from playing his game and focused on Yoong. He answered him, "Yeah."

Soo sat beside him. "I can't believe this happened to him too. Like, really... I never thought he has an enemy too." Jessica looked suddenly bothered by Soo's comment. Her expression turned dark.

Tae responded, "Probably, this is related to his own investigations he had done before."

"Investigations?"

"Yeah. He conducted investigations on Yuri's 'death' before, right?"

"But, that was so long ago."

I butted, "This happening definitely is related to me. We all know I'm the one who has lots of enemies here."

"Or maybe Yuri." Hyoyeon snapped. "He's Yuri's brother so definitely that's it."

"Right... Right..." Soo rubbed his chin animatedly as if thinking intently. "Probably, the mastermind who Sir Henry was talking to was the one who plotted this. He might have found out Yoong's Yuri's brother."

"It could be as simple as that." Jessica suddenly snapped in a very serious tone. "Or it could still be someone else."

"What do you mean, Jess?" I asked.

She looked at me as if glaring, "Some people change in a snap. But, some people just pretend they already changed. Yet, the truth is, they never did. They're just the same old, demonic creatures deep inside."

Damn. Is my best friend back to the dark side? Is this because the new episode of Star Wars will be in theaters soon?

But then, anyway… wh-why...? What's going on? Does she know something I'm not aware of?

And, demonic creatures? Who is she pertaining to?

After a long silence Jessica has initiated, Sooyoung snapped at Taeyeon, "Hey, by the way, I heard the news about what happened to your brother. Are you uhmmm... how are you coping up?"

"Hmmm. I'm doing good, I guess. It was shocking, yes. But... that's how life is... when you die, you die."

"..."

"I wasn't really close with my hyung... It's like we're both strangers to each other..." He gazed down to nothingness, "So when that news erupted... at first, I didn't know how to feel. It's like... I'm still finding the exact feeling that I should have been feeling..."

"Wasn't it the same weight as when Yuri 'died'  before?"

He gazed at Soo. Then, he looked away again, "No, it was not. Because to me... Yuri's always a better brother than him." He smiled faintly as he looked back at Soo. "You, Yoong, and Yuri are the greatest brothers I ever had. I'll be more hurt if you guys die before me, you know."

Sooyoung suddenly went teary. Then, without a word, he had Taeyeon in a warm embrace.

Taeyeon chuckled, "Gee. Soo. Stop becoming so gay."

"Shut up, man." He sobbed. "I love you, Taeng. I love you."

"I love you too, Soo."

Hyoyeon scratched her head as she smiled while gazing at the two. "Damn these idiots..." She started to tear up too. "So gay..."

I continued to watch the two guys. I kinda felt tearing up as well...

Their friendship... It's so beautiful. They bicker at each other a lot. They do fight a lot. They insult each other a lot. But, in the end, they back each other up. They support each other. They love each other like how real brothers are.

*Sigh*. What am I thinking? Taeyeon's still the same Taeyeon. I might just be not used to his silent side, but, still, he's the same kind man I knew.

Okay, Fany-yah. Stop thinking too much at Taeyeon's sudden change of personality. He's maybe just in a dilemma with his family problem. It's nothing big. We all go through that. There's nothing wrong with him playing Candy Crush. Right...

It was only the next day when Yoong finally woke up. His eyes were just opened and only observing us and the surroundings. It seemed he's a little weak to talk. He only responds to us through moving his eyebrows up or slightly nodding or shaking his head.

The doctor advised that he should stay in the ICU for two weeks or even up to a month, depending on his recovery. The damage done by the gunshots on his body severely affected his internal organs. That's why he's still so much in a critical condition.

Immediately, as soon as the news reached them, the Ims went to visit him again. Yoong tried his best to avoid the gazes of his family throughout the whole time.

"Dear, Yoona..." Grandma Yuna said as she grabbed a hold of his hand and squeezed it.

Miss Hana, his mother, caressed his hair up. "We're so happy you're now awake. Please, be even more careful from now on, okay? Please don't make us be worried again." She kissed his forehead. "I love you so much. I missed you so much."

Grandma Yuna kissed his cheek, "I love you and miss you so much too, my Yoona."

The two then made way for Mister Minhyuk, his father, to come near him. He firstly sighed deeply then uttered, "Son..."

"I apologized for everything. I've never been a good father to you... And worse... I even disowned you too..."

Tears have fallen from Yoong's eyes. He continued to avoid his father's gaze.

"I'm sorry, son. I'm really so sorry. I shouldn't have done that... It was the worst decision I ever made in my life." He shed tears too.

He then weakly uttered, "B-but... wh-why did... you...?"

"I found out you weren't mine..."

...

"That you weren't my real son. That, your mother conceived you through another man. With that, I was so hurt... I was too prideful... I couldn't accept the truth. I was so disappointed... I've always been proud as your father..."

"I'm sorry. I'm really so sorry... I hope you'll find in your heart to forgive me."

"You sh-should... h-have told me... much earlier..." Tears continued to fall in his eyes. "So, I didn't have... questions... boggling my mind... why...? If I... did s-something w-wrong...? If... I d-disappointed you t-that t-time...?"

"Y-you sh-should h-have t-told me... so I wouldn't b-be clueless... so I w-wouldn't have b-been ashamed of-- mmyself..."

Mister Minhyuk sobbed harder. He lowered his head to avoid his son from seeing him, "I'm sorry. I'm really so sorry."

The rest of us decided to leave the Ims their lone time in the ICU. Throughout the whole time, though, Yuri has been too quiet.

"It's gonna be okay..." I said and held his hand. "You don't have to worry about how will he react..."

"Do you think he'll just accept me that easy?"

"Yes. Come on..." I chuckled. "Don't you know how much Yoong loves you?"

He looked and stared at me intently.

I smiled, "Yoong treasures you more than just a best friend. Do you know what he told me before you came back last year?" Then, I stated, "Yuri-hyung was like my best, best friend. He was on a different level compared to my relationship with Sooyoung and Taeyeon-hyung. He's also my archenemy. We're best, best friends but, we're also archenemies. That just means, we have a different bond. Look at Naruto and Sasuke. Look at Madara and Hashirama. They're best, best friends but they're archenemies too."

I looked at him and smiled warmly, "Then, I asked him aren't Naruto and Sasuke gays for each other?" I chuckled. "He was so much infuriated and ranted at me, saying, it's the bond of brotherhood. That, he and you have a deeper bond that's why you're important to him. So, he can never let go of what happened to you. He's been trying to seek justice for your 'death' ever since."

"..."

I looked away, "He said, he just wants to do his duty as your brother, not exactly by blood. He explained that brothers are like naturally best friends but archenemies of each other. So, he does consider you as his brother."

"I see..." he snapped and I returned my gaze to him. "But, you know what's surprising?" he asked.

"What?"

"It was toooooo surprising that you actually remembered that conversation fully. I mean, like seriously, how could you remember lines much better than remembering names and faces?"

"Yah!" I slapped his chest and he winced in pain."I am trying to cheer you up and this is what you return to me?!"

He chuckled, "It just surprised me, okay. No. It actually shocked me, really."

"Shut up. Hmpf. I won't ever cheer you up anymore."

"I was just kidding." He pulled me for a hug. "I really don't know what will I do without you in my life." He kissed my forehead. "You are really heaven-sent for me. You are really my angel." Then, we stayed cuddling.

However, as it bothered me, Jessica's mood was still somewhat different. She was just staring into nothingness. Her expression was still too dark and negative. I couldn't even start out a conversation with her and neither everyone else. Hyoyeon seemed to have noticed the difference in her too.

Soon, the Ims have left and we all went back to the ICU. There were little conversations opened up. Still, Jessica's so silent throughout the whole time. The weird atmosphere she's emitting couldn't really make us open up the revelation for Yuri, though. It's like it's not the right time to open it up since Yoong's somewhat occupied on observing his girlfriend's weird behavior now.

Jessica continued to busy herself on fixing Yoong's bed sheet and cover to make him be more comfortable. Yoong's just staring at her in return.

Then, after a long while, Yoong uttered, "Je-ssica..."

"Yes?" she answered while still not looking at him.

"I l-love you..."
