“Unnie” DK called to her sister.

“mmm?” Gabby answered.

“I can’t sleep” she said and sat up.

The Kwon girls are still awake. It has been an hour since their mum has tucked them in and up till now, they cannot sleep at all. The frightening scene that they saw awhile ago that involves their dad keeps on flashing back and even though they want to brush it off their minds already, they can’t.

“Open the lights DK” Isabella said and the youngest amongst the three, obeyed.

“I can’t sleep” DK repeated and joined Gabby in her bed.

“Same here” Gabby said in a sad tone.

“I know why we can’t sleep” Isabella said and they looked at their unnie, sadness and fear can be seen in their eyes.

“I’m afraid of dad now” Gabby said and Isabella sighed.

Out of all the kids, Gabby is the most affected one after seeing their dad beating somebody. The little girl just can’t believe that their dad, who is really sweet and so kind can actually do that. In her mind, the dad that she knows is already gone and he became a bad guy already.

“Girls…don’t be afraid of dad…it’s just normal for adults to fight sometimes” Isabella told her sisters.

“But this is different unnie…we’re talking about dad here…it’s not just another guy or a stranger….it’s dad…he can’t even kill a mosquito” DK said, making her older sister shook her head and sigh.

“DK…dad is only human…he can make mistakes and can be bad sometimes…what happened awhile ago is just a petty adult fight…and…that guy really deserves it for he likes mum” the oldest sister said, shocking her sisters.

“Unnie…is that the reason why dad told us to watch over mum and to not let her go close to that ugly guy? ” Gabby asked and Isabella nods at her.

“But how can you be sure of that?” the youngest asked.

“Just look at the way he talks to mum….and the way he looks! I really hate that guy…he looks like a duck” Isabella said in annoyance.

Truth is, Isabella has overheard her dad and Aunt Daryl talking. Her dad asked her Aunt Daryl if that ugly guy is still bugging her mum and her mum’s bestfriend answered, yes. And she also heard from her that, that guy really loves her mum and won’t even stop from courting her. Yes, the eldest of seven kids already know what courtship means for the older students in their dance club always talk about their suitors and how they court them.

“We have to guard mum all the time…let’s help dad kill that guy” Gabby said, making her sisters look at her weirdly.

“Unnie…killing someone is bad…dad will scold you” DK said and they laughed.

“I got really shocked when dad punched that duck face” Gabby said and the two girls nod in agreement.

“Girls…I’m sure that dad has a valid reason as to why he did that…I have a feeling that he and mum would explain things tomorrow” Isabella told them.

“But…is dad capable of doing that to us?” DK looked at her sisters with so much fear.

The third Kwon daughter has always been mature in everything that she does and even with the way she thinks. DK is being torn for she already doubts their dad’s kindness, although she knows and she firmly believes that the reason why their dad did that is because, that duck face made him angry. Thing is, if he can do that to a stranger whenever he’s mad, he can also do that to them whenever they made him mad as well.

“Wat’ta question DK!” Gabby said and the youngest sighed.

“Dad will not even spank us…what more punch us…right?” Isabella asked in annoyance.

The eldest daughter got annoyed with how her younger sister thinks. She knows and believes that their dad will not even pinch them or do anything that will hurt them. First of all, he loves them more than anything in this world, so the thought of him beating them up is so unbelievable.

“AISH! Let’s not talk about this anymore” Gabby said and lay back down in bed.

“No! I will clear things to you and the kids” Isabella said and got out from her bed.

“Where are you going unnie?” DK asked.

“I’m going to fetch the kids” she answered and went out of their room.

Isabella head to the boys’ room even though she knows that they will throw tantrums and will surely whine once she wakes them up. She doesn’t care, for all she wants is to talk to her brothers and sisters and clean their dad’s name to them.
