“No, I think it has to go over there.” Lay said, confusion written all over his face as he turned the plan over and over inside of his hold. His eyebrows were tugging towards each other in the middle of his forehead, Baekhyun was standing beside him, his hands on his hips as he stared down on the paper. It was obvious that they were struggling, and you bit your bottom lip in order not to laugh at them. This was ridiculous. No matter how many times you’d asked for them to let you help them out, they would always hush you, ensuring you they had everything under control. The thing was that it was obvious that they didn’t. Since you had slept in a tent before you knew how to do this thing. Last year one of your friends had organized a sleep over, and you had volunteered to help setting up the tent, since you’d been sleeping outside in the garden. It had been one of the best birthday parties you had ever been to, getting tipsy under the night sky, telling each other your secrets and joking around. You had some experience with these kinds of things, not that you were the best tent builder ever, but at least it was a start. While these two seemed as if they had never been close to a tent before. You had no idea who of them had come to this silly idea, but here you were. All ten of you were gathered in the woods, an open field you had found. They hadn’t dared to go too deeply inside, so the road was nearby, but it was still private enough for no one to find you straight away. 
 

It was a miracle that all of you had been able to escape the eye of the paparazzi and get over here unnoticed. All of you had explored the woods for the first half of the day, crawling over fallen trees and sitting in the grass, enjoying the sunlight shining down on you. The weather was great for an activity like this and you’d been really enjoying yourself so far. Baekhyun had immediately asked you if you wanted to come, knowing you were into these kinds of things. You’d been really excited, thinking this was a great way for you to get to know the others even better. Though it seemed that he was the only one who had brought his girlfriend over, and at first that had made you feel a little bit uncomfortable. Maybe this was meant to be a guy’s night, where they would tell dirty jokes and would do thinks you didn’t want to see. But they all seemed fine with you being here, even seemed to like it. “Why won’t you let us help you?” Chanyeol said, showing up beside you. But your boyfriend waved him off, while he continued studying the plan. Mumbling to himself, and definitely displeased because he was being ignored the younger boy sat down beside you, tugging his legs underneath himself. He was dressed in all black, even wearing a black cap to protect himself against the sun. There was already a smear of mud on his shirt, but he didn’t seem to mind. Here, far away from the public eye, everything was allowed. They all seemed so relaxed right now. “If your tent isn’t set up before tonight and you’ve got no place to sleep you’re always welcome in my tent.” Chanyeol said, sending you a grin. You knew he only mentioned it to tease his friend, trying to get to him. And it seemed to be working, because Baekhyun turned around to glare at him, squeezing his eyes together in a threatening way. 

“That won’t be necessary! We’ll have this set up in a record time.” He huffed, but his shoulders fell a little when he noticed that the others already had their tents standing tall and they were the last ones. You sent him an apologetic smile, knowing that this would put a slight crack in his ego. If he’d only allowed you to have a peak on that paper then perhaps that tent would have been standing up a long time ago. A loud shriek exploded inside of your ears and you turned your head to look at the way Chanyeol scrambled up from his seat beside you, hitting his hands around in the air to an invisible bug that was zooming around his head. He ran, and everyone stopped what they were doing to stare at them. You all knew that the guy was terrified of bugs, anything that flew or crawled, and he would go mental if one came too close to him. “Don’t come over here!” Kyungsoo yelled when Chanyeol was going in his direction, all of them were trying to keep the insect as far away from them as possible. You let out an airy laugh, enjoying the way you were able to relax all of your muscles and watch all the others have fun and fool around. Somehow you’d always felt better and more comfortable around boys than girls. Girls would always bring along so much drama, while guys kept things simple. “Do you want to help me find some wood for the campfire?” Junmyeon asked, showing up beside you. You lifted your head to look at him, noting the friendly and inviting smile that was showing on his face. Since you’d met the other members of exo and Baekhyun had gathered the balls to introduce you to them, you had always gotten along with him very well. 

You liked the soft side he had, and sometimes felt sorry for him when his friends walked over him, even though he was the leader of the group. “Sure!” You said, pushing yourself up from the ground and brushing off your hands and jeans. Small leaves and pieces of mud were sticking to your skin, but you didn’t mind. This was what it was like to enjoy nature from close by, it was one of the best things in the world. After shooting your boyfriend a final glance, and seeing that the two of them were still struggling with the exact same pole as five minutes ago, you sighed and went with Junmyeon. Following him into the woods, you avoided the bushes and the branches that were sticking out, but still felt a few of them scratching your skin. “You guys do this often?” You asked as the two of you came to walk next to another, eyes darting over the uneven ground to look for wood that seemed good for use. He chuckled before shaking his head and crouched down to grab his first twig. “No. Apart from the fact that we never have time to do something like this, the guys usually don’t like these kinds of activities. It’s too muddy or too cold, or there are too many bugs and stuff. Not that I mind, I’m not really that adventurous myself.” He informed and you hummed while picking up whatever seemed decent. The answer didn’t come as an surprise, since most of them didn’t even know how to put up a tent. They weren’t used to having this much free time in their schedule, and even then they’d still be busy. Baekhyun had seemed so excited about this trip, even though you both knew he hated camping. Just the thought of sleeping in a tent was terrible for him, the dark, the noises, the cold, the hard ground. He’d been complaining all week, still he had been thrilled when it had actually been time to leave. 

“I don’t think you’ll sleep much tonight. Knowing Baekhyun he’ll notice every single sound and every single change in light. It’ll be a rough night for you.” He said, grinning slightly. You sniffed, none of that was any new for you. Sometimes he would wake you up in the middle of the night because he thought he heard something downstairs and then the two of you were in a bed, in a house. “That is if we have a tent at all.” You muttered and Junmyeon threw his head back and laughed, clearly pleased with your company. As soon as you were done the two of you made your way back towards the camp, finding all the boys gathered together around your tent.
