He was nervous, you could tell by the way he was shakily walking towards the front of the rows of people, where the stage was waiting for him. For weeks he had been looking forward to this moment and you could tell that he had been getting more and more excited with every day that had passed. You had tried to talk some courage into him but he still eyed twitchy as he speeded forward, as if he wanted to have this over with as fast as he possibly could. But there was no way he could skip this part, he had worked so hard to get to this point, that he just had to push through. There were no words you could use in order to describe how proud you were of him and of what he had achieved. During many times he had complained about going to college because it was so hard and difficult, but he had hold on until the very end and now he was finally graduating. You stared at him as he wore his black suit, looking handsome as ever and lifted from your chair so that you could have a good look. He shook hands with some big guy, probably someone important and someone you were supposed to know, but you couldn't remember his name. the sun was shining down on you and you could feel your skin burning on the places they touched. Your feet were swollen in your high heels because of the warmth and they were killing you, but you refused to complain about it. When he turned around to face the people, degree in hand and a smile on his face you lifted your camera and at the exact moment he pointed his eyes on you, you pushed the button. The flash must have blinded him for a second because he pulled a face, but then rolled his eyes at your actions and began his journey back down. You couldn’t help yourself, this was a moment that had to get captured, so that you could frame it and hang in against the wall of your new apartment. 

Two months ago the two of you had made quite a big decision, which had moved your relationship to a whole new level. When your parents had first heard about your plan they had been furious and they had even tried to bribe the person who was selling you the apartment so that the contract would go to someone else. But you had been smart enough to wait with telling them until the contract had already been signed, so that the deal was already made. For the first time in your life you felt as if you were able to escape the cage you had been held captive in for your whole life. Your parents their house was huge in comparison with the small apartment you had moved into, but it didn’t matter. Because this was a new start to you, together with the person you loved and you wanted to be with forever. Maybe you two could buy something bigger one day, when another member would join the family and the apartment would become too small for three people. But for now this place had everything you needed, besides, the smaller the place the closer you were to Baekhyun. He had insisted on dividing everything equally and you had let him, since you didn’t want to make him feel as if he had to depend on you. In your eyes it was a wonder that your parents hadn’t cut you off yet, but you figured that they were still hoping that money would drive the two of you apart one day. They would never accept Baekhyun, and you had given up on trying to convince them that he was an amazing guy. As long as you knew what was right for you then that was all that mattered. Of course it would have been your dream to see your parents and your boyfriend sitting at a table together, or your parents accepting Baekhyun the way he was, but some things were meant to stay just that, dreams. The truth was that your parents were unreasonable people who only cared about a few things in life, and you weren’t one of them. It was okay though, you had moved on from that fact, and over the years it had become less painful to think of it. 

With excited steps you made your way through the crowd towards the one and only person you wanted to see right now. When you spotted him in the sea of people you saw that he was talking to one of his classmates, someone who had become a good friend of him during the past few months. Baekhyun had never been good at trusting people or letting others into his life, but Chanyeol had found a way to settle himself somewhere in his heart. Though as soon as he saw you coming towards him he excused himself and he prepared himself to meet you halfway. But you were too hyper to wait for him so while ignoring your painful feet you skipped over to him and ran straight up to him. Others could stare at you as much as they wanted for you being this familiar with him in such an open and crowded place, but you couldn’t care less. They could see how much you loved this man, and how badly you wanted to be with him. Your arms wrapped around his neck and you could hear him gasp by your sudden attack as he twirled his strong arms around your middle, holding you against him. While hiding your face in the crook of his neck you felt as if you were the only two standing here, as if everyone else faded and the world only consisted of you and him. “I’m so proud of you.” You mumbled against his skin, feeling how he squeezed you a little tighter when you said that as his cheek brushed against your hair. By his body language you could tell that he was proud of himself too, that he had survived this, that he had been able to do this with his life. You were sure that if you had told him a few years ago that his life would change so drastically that he never would have believed
