“Do you want to go inside?” You asked as you both stopped in front of the window and tried to make up if they had something new to offer. It was a cold summer day, which meant that it wasn’t actually that cold but it was for the time of the year. You couldn’t believe that you were actually wearing jeans and a jacket, which you normally never did during this season. You were still staring inside of the shop as you waited for his answer, feeling how he was following your example. “No, I’m good.” He then said and you turned your head towards him in surprise and saw that he secretly tried to avoid your look. It didn’t escape from your look that his cheeks had turned a little pink as he kept his eyes on the window. You gave his hand a soft squeeze and saw how he slowly tilted his head and how he looked at you out of the corner of his eyes. For a second you could only look at him and it seemed as if everything around you seemed to disappear, as if the only people who were here were you and him. 

Today he had chosen to leave his glasses at home, but normally he always wore them. Thank god he had his contacts in because otherwise he wouldn’t even see where he was going most of the times. His hair was a little bit messy, as if he had just gotten out of bed and had forgotten to do something about it and even though he normally didn’t do that, you still kind of liked it. But he was dressed nicely and he looked very neat, like always, one of the things you liked the most about him. Of course you knew all about his reputation here in this town, it was small so people thought they knew everything about each other and you also knew what they said about the two of you together. You were complete opposites of each other, but like they said opposites attracted. He loved to sit somewhere in silence and just stare into space, thinking about something and being completely lost in his own mind. You liked to go out with your friends, to crowded places where you could watch people. He didn’t mind staying at home and sitting on the couch, watching some TV. While you always tried to get him out of the house and make some adventures together. 

It didn’t matter what they would say though, in a certain way he was exactly what you weren’t and that was what you loved most about him. He was the one who held a hand above your head and who would hold your hand if you would spin out of control. He was the one who told you not to stop chasing your dreams but who made sure you stayed realistic and wouldn’t start hoping for something you could never have. He was very down to earth while you liked to fantasize and liked to make big plans. When you were down he knew how to cheer you up and you had been able to make him open up to others and had enriched his social life. No, you were nothing like each other but you felt as if his appearance in your life made you much richer than you actually were. “Of, I know you do. Let’s go inside.” You said as you gave his hand a pull so that he followed behind you. The bell rang above your head, a sound you had gotten used to over the past few months. Normally you never came here, the first time you had visited this store had been together with him.

“We could get a cup of coffee at that new coffee shop a little further ahead? Victoria said that they have the best Americano ever.” You said with a bright smile on your face as you turned your head to look at him, walking beside you. He still looked a little bit holding back, he wasn’t used to having someone with him with such a bright personality as yours. Sometimes you had to remind yourself that he was a little more dazed and you had to tell yourself to take it easy on him. Your eyes were still pointing on him and you were waiting for him to return your look as you felt a drip on your nose. You frowned as you lifted your hand and wiped the water off of your face, but it was quickly replaced by another. “They said it would be sunny…” He chuckled softly as he let his fingers slip through yours and listened to the indignation inside of your voice. You squealed when the rain suddenly started pouring out of the sky and you knew that if you’d still had to run over to the coffee shop that you’d be drenched.

Before you could even scan the street to see where you had to go he had already pulled you inside somewhere. The only reason why you knew that was because there were no more drops landing on top of your head. The water had soaked the both of you and you tried your best not to shiver as you felt the wet clothes glued against your skin. The lucky thing was that it was warm inside of the shop and it seemed like a very cosy place. You brushed your hair out of your face and let your eyes wander around the room, trying to figure out where he had taken you. It didn’t take long to find out, there were books everywhere. You didn’t really read very often, but you knew that he did. You wondered if he had wanted to get inside of here all along and just hadn’t had to guts to ask you since you didn’t really enjoy reading. Beside you Baekhyun was staring around himself and his eyes had widened as he was taking in his surroundings. Instead of looking at the books you could only look at him and you realized how cute he was looking at this point. When he turned his head to look at you as well you avoided his gaze and walked over to one of the shelves instead, running your fingers over the hard covers of the books.
